The Boys

Atop Mount Petra, which is also known as; Mount Qaf, the Djinn of War; Ashar is watching over his two sons; Saaid and Sulaiman.

The mother of Saaid and Sulaiman is a Si'lat.

Growing up with the sons of Ashar, is a boy by the name of Awar.

These three boys went on all kinds of adventures, and they wanted to go on even more as adults.

Now, Saaid and Sulaiman, along with their bestfriend Awar, now all set out on journeys throughout Jinnestan. But they quickly made a stop at Beled-el-Djinn to stock up on supplies, with that done, it is now time to tell of the adventures!

The Feathered Serpent

" Do we have any idea as to where we are going? " said Saaid, who was the wielder of the sword; Bismillah.

" Nope " said Sulaiman, who was the wielder of the sword; Hamdullah.

(Both swords were made by Sa'd)

" Hey, as long as we are together " said Awar with a smile.

Saaid and Sulaiman both agreed with their smiles.

The three boys had now arrived at a village, they rented some rooms at an inn, and while eating dinner, they overheard a conversation.

" Have you heard? "

" No, what? "

" It has been spotted "

" The Feathered Serpent…" uttered the stranger with dread.

" Yeah… it seems like we are going to lose more people… "

It was now the next day, and the three boys all wanted to find out more about this Feathered Serpent.

" Who do we ask? " said Awar.

" Anyone " said Saaid with way too much positivity; " Excuse me, could you tell us more about this "Feathered Serpent"? "

The moment Saaid had uttered the name, the entire street was empty with people, for all of them ran to their houses in fear.

" Well done bro " said Sulaiman with a smile.

" It was not my fault! " said Saaid, who was an extrovert, so he felt a little hurt by all the people running away.

" They must be really scared of this serpent, " said Awar, his heart bleeding for the poor people.

" You would be as well, if you knew what it has done to us, " said an old man, who was sitting on a rocking chair near the saloon.

" Please sir, tell us what has happened here " said Awar.

The old man took a sip of his drink, which brought some life to his ears.

" Ever since I was a boy, stories about the serpent have been around. It is said; for our village to stand, we must make sacrifices to the hungry beast "

" What kind of sacrifices? " asked Sulaiman.

The old man paused, as his chair was still.

" Human sacrifices "

The blood of the three boys froze.

" For how long? " asked Saaid in horror.

" As I said; ever since I was a boy "

All was quiet, as the sand passed through.

" Well bro, I guess we know what we must do, '' said Saaid, as his positivity returned.

" Yeah, and it also looks like we are all getting a pair of snake boots, " said Sulaiman with a smile.

" Eww " uttered Awar.

The old man looked like he wanted to say something.

" What is it? " asked Awar.

" Could you… could you guys bring me a pair? "

" Why? " asked Sulaiman, curious.

" So I can walk into every single pool of mud I find with those boots on, " said the old man, as more life returned to his eyes.

" It is a deal, '' said Saaid with a smile.

The old man now told the three boys where they could find the serpent, and off they went.

They had all arrived at the area, they held their weapons in hand and were all looking for the Feathered Serpent.

" Where do you think it will appear? " said Saaid.

" From above " said Sulaiman.

" From ahead " said Awar.

" Well, I think that it will appear from behind "

They were all wrong, for the serpent appeared from below.

The Feathered Serpent came bursting out from the ground.

While in the air, the serpent roared down on the boys.

" Well… I guess we found it '' uttered Saaid, as his butt was visible from a mountain of sand.

The serpent breathed fire down on the boys, which had no effect on the sons of Ashar, Awar did however need to find cover.

While completely naked, Saaid and Sulaiman both walked towards the serpent.

" Did you know that our father is also known as the Djinn of Simooms? "

As Saaid had said that, a large simoom appeared, forcing the serpent closer to the ground.

The sons of Ashar both jumped onto the serpent, they both now started to cut away at the serpent's body.

After having lost a lot of blood, the Feathered Serpent crashed onto the ground, dead.

" We did it! " exclaimed Saaid, joyfully.

" That we did, " said Sulaiman with a smile.

The only one who was not celebrating was Awar.

" What is wrong, Awar? You look pale, " said Saaid.

" Well, you would be too if you were covered by a lot of blood… " said Awar, as everything but his face was covered in the serpent's blood.

The three boys laughed together, and as promised, they gave a pair of snake boots to the old man; who immediately jumped into a pool of mud with them on.

The Massive Golden Lancehead Snake

" Cannonball! " exclaimed Saaid, as he jumped into the water.

The three boys were taking a relaxing bath at an oasis.

" This is just what the warrior ordered " said Sulaiman, as the water did wonders for his skin.

Awar could be heard letting out a sound of relaxation mixed with heavenly joy.

Awar then noticed something in the desert.

" Hey, do you guys see that? " he said.

Saaid and Sulaiman both looked, they could faintly see the image of an entity far ahead of them.

" It is probably a mirage " said Saaid, as he was truly enjoying himself.

Sulaiman and Awar both noticed the entity now collapsing.

It turned out that the entity was in reality a woman.

The woman now felt some cold and fresh water splash on her face, she opened her eyes, where she immediately blushed.

" You two… you two are naked!? " she exclaimed, as Saaid and Sulaiman both had forgotten to put on some clothes.

The woman now fainted again.

Once again, the water awoke the sleeping beauty, and this time; the two brothers both had clothes on.

" Where am I…? " uttered the woman, still very weak.

" You are with friends, we won't hurt you, " said Awar, comfortingly.

Awar now gave the woman some water, and no; it was not the same water which they all had bathed in.

The woman's cloak fell a little, enough to reveal her naked legs, that was when Saaid and Sulaiman both saw them; the many bite marks of snakes.

" Who did this to you? " asked Awar.

" The children of the golden snake "

" With that many bite marks… how are you still alive? " asked Sulaiman, as he noticed the two holes left by venomous snakes.

" You are not human " said Saaid, surprised and delighted.

" I am half-human, my mother was a Djinn " said the woman, who sounded a little shy, but her shyness quickly vanished as she said;

" I am the only half-breed of my village, which is why; whenever the golden children come, I always go out to meet them… for only I can survive their many venomous bites "

" Then… What were you doing out here? " said Awar.

" I gladly volunteer to be the receiver of the many bites… the poison may not affect me, but the pain certainly does. I did not want the people to feel guilty or ashamed, so I came out here to endure the pain "

The three boys were silent for a moment, Sulaiman then asked;

" Why do the snakes come to the village? "

" Because; The Massive Golden Lancehead Snake lives in a valley near the village. And as a deal for the snake not destroying our village; we have agreed to let its many children bite us whenever their fangs start to itch… and as I said; only I can survive their venom "

" Why don't you all just move away? " asked Awar.

The woman let out a sighing-giggle.

" That is easier said than done. My village is located on top of a spring where bountiful waters can be found. And since we live in a desert; need I say more? " said the woman with a smile.

The three boys were quiet once more, Sulaiman then said;

" Awar, take her back to her village. We shall take care of the rest "

Awar nodded, he then lifted the woman and started to walk back to her village.

The sons of Ashar both now started to walk towards the golden valley, it was called that because the many snakes on the ground and walls made the whole valley look like pure gold.

At the end of the valley laid the mother of the snakes.

The Massive Golden Lancehead Snake noticed the two boys, it then glared at them.

All the gold now started to head straight towards Saaid and Sulaiman, but the two boys were still very calm. The blood in their veins now turned to pure magma, which also came out from the ground, killing many of the golden children.

The mother now roared at the two boys.

" Hey bro " said Saaid.

" Yes? "

" Have you ever wondered what snake meat tastes like? "

Sulaiman smiled.

" Let us find out "

The sons of the Djinn of lava and magma, now roasted all the snakes in the valley.

The lava and magma turned into obsidian which the villagers later utilized as useful tools.

And as the boys would later find out, snake meat tastes nothing like chicken.

The Fire Giant

All was quiet in the desert, the three boys were all sleeping around a campfire, they saw no need for someone to keep watch, which was their first mistake.

A child was going through their bags, the child jumped in fear as Sulaiman grabbed its hand.

" Who the hell are you? " said Sulaiman with a scary tone, but the child did not seem scared. The child did however try and kick Sulaiman, who, with ease, just grabbed hold of the child's leg.

Sulaiman now stood up, holding the child in the air.

" Let me go! " exclaimed the child, helplessly.

The child's hood now fell, revealing a young boy.

" Now, why would an innocent boy like yourself want to steal from us? " said Sulaiman with a grin.

" I wanted to steal from you guys, but that was when I found out that your stuff was all worthless, just like their owners! "

" Ah, a snake with venom " said Sulaiman, as he now threw the boy to the ground.

The boy quickly got back up and he now ran away.

" What is going on, bro…? " said Saaid, as he was half-awake.

" Nothing, just go back to sleep "

The sun rising could be seen on the horizon, and the three boys were all awake and ready to start walking.

" Hey, is it just me or has a boy been following us from the shadows? " said Saaid.

" It is not just you, " said Sulaiman with an annoyed-smile.

" Who is he? " asked Awar.

" A sassy thief " said Sulaiman.

" You sound like you know him? " said Saaid.

" Well, let us see what he wants, " said Awar, as he gestured that the boy come out from the shadows.

The boy came and he immediately ran up and kicked Sulaiman on the shin. The kick had no effect, other than Sulaiman glaring at the boy.

" What happened between you two? " said Saaid.

" Nothing " uttered Sulaiman with an intense glare.

" Excuse me, child, what are you doing out here? " asked Awar.

" I am looking for supplies for my master "

" Who is your master? "

" I am the squire of the great Sir Ahmed Abdallah Al Redai " said the boy, proudly.

" He is the man who tamed a Pegaenix! " exclaimed Saaid with awe.

" Indeed " said the boy, sounding even more proud to be the squire of Sir Ahmed.

" Where is your master? " asked Sulaiman.

" He is preparing to face off against a Fire Giant; which has terrorized a small village "

There was silence for a moment.

" Even with Pegaenix… can Sir Ahmed hope to take down a Fire Giant? " said Awar, as he looked at both Saaid and Sulaiman.

" He is a mere man, so; no " said Sulaiman.

" He is more than a mere man! " exclaimed the squire, hotly.

" Don't worry little one, for we shall help your master " said Saaid, as he patted the boy on the head.

" You will? " said the boy, full of hope.

" We will? " said Sulaiman, confused.

" Yeah, I mean; we have helped other people, why should this be any different? " said Saaid, as he was a little confused at his brother's response.

Sulaiman wanted to say something, but the boy was quicker.

" Please sir, help my master " said the boy with a bow.

Sulaiman was quiet for a moment, he then said;

" Raise your head, for we will help "

All the boys now met up with Sir Ahmed, and after Saaid had gotten out all his amazement over the creature which had the body of a horse with the flaming wings of a phoenix, Ahmed Abdallah Al Redai now told them of his plan.

It was at a valley of rock hoodoos where Sir Ahmed could be seen riding on his winged steed. Behind Sir Ahmed could the Fire Giant be seen.

When Sir Ahmed reached the entrance to the valley, he told his Pegaenix to take flight, which it did. And as the Fire Giant walked into the valley,

Saaid and Sulaiman, at either end of a long rope, now both pulled on that rope making the Fire Giant fall over.

With the force of the fall, many massive rocks fell on the giant, killing it.

Sir Ahmed thanked the boys by giving each of them a ride on Pegaenix.

The T-Rex

" Is it true that you two can shapeshift? " said Awar.

" Yep " said Saaid.

" Our mother is a Si'lat, " said Sulaiman.

" That explains some of their animal features, '' thought Awar to himself.

Awar then said;

" Prove it "

Saaid transformed into a dragon, while Sulaiman transformed into a phoenix.

" Woah… " uttered Awar, who was very impressed with Saaid's dragon form.

" Told you " said Saaid with a smile.

Sulaiman now noticed the worried and hesitant look on Awar.

" What is it? " said Sulaiman, worried.

Awar opened his mouth to speak, but that was when they all felt the earthquake like shakes.

The boys all looked, and running towards them was a colossal Tyrannosaurus Rex.

" That T-rex is aware of the fact that he is about to fight a dragon and a phoenix? " said Saaid, who was worried about the T-rex.

The two brothers moved, and for a split second; Sulaiman noticed an even more worried look on Awar's face.

Saaid and Sulaiman both easily dealt with the T-rex, they then both transformed back into their humanoid forms.

" Are you okay? " asked Sulaiman, as he walked up to Awar.

" I am fine, " said Awar.

But Sulaiman knew that he was lying.

The Dragon

" Do we have any idea as to where we are going? " said Saaid with a carefree smile.

" Nope " said Sulaiman with a smile.

Awar was quiet.

" Awar? " said Saaid.

" Yes! " exclaimed Awar, as he had just awoken from a dream.

" Are you okay? You have been quiet for a while "

Awar now forced a smile.

" I am fine "

" You are lying, " said Sulaiman.

Awar's smile now vanished, he then sighed and a genuine smile could now be seen on his face.

" You two have killed my brothers "

A lightning bolt went through Sulaiman and Saaid.

" We have done what…? " uttered the two brothers in disbelief.

" My brothers; the serpent, the snake, the giant and the T-Rex, they were my brothers, and you two killed them all " said Awar, calmly.

" Awar " said Sulaiman; " you are not making any sense "

" Yeah " said Saaid, nervously; " this prank is not funny "

" It is not a prank. My brothers; Dasim, Zalambur, Sut and Tir, are all dead because of you two "

" Then… Why did you not say something! " exclaimed Saaid.

" I tried " said Awar with a smile; " but, hearing and seeing the destruction and death which my brothers caused… I could not "

Awar then paused for a moment.

" But, with each death, with each fallen brother, I felt a piece of myself die. My guilt consumed more of my being. And right now; I might as well be dead "

Awar now started to change.

" Please don't… " uttered Sulaiman.

Awar grew in size.

" No… " uttered Saaid with tears.

Awar had now fully transformed into a dragon.

" I have to avenge my brothers, " said Awar in his draconic voice.

" But… " stammered Saaid; " what are we…? "

" Just my friends " said Awar, coldly.

Those words broke the hearts and souls of Saaid and Sulaiman. Their hearts were hardened and their resolve was made.

The sons of Ashar now pulled out their legendary swords.

No more words were uttered or said, all that could be heard; was the battle taking place; between the boys.

It should come as no surprise that both Saaid and Sulaiman won.

Awar laid on the ground, his skin and blood was everywhere.

The two brothers looked on at their dying friend, both of them fighting back their tears.

Saaid and Sulaiman both now heard;

" We shall always be the boys… "

Awar now breathed his last.

As a way of always keeping their fallen friend close; Saaid and Sulaiman ate the heart of Awar.

The two of them now started to walk, one boy down.
