Hard Glass Shatters Twice

In an instant the Black Level A Rift from within the cage, exploded into the sky. It expanded hundred fold, destroying hundreds of buildings in its wake.

It towers over the Eiffel Tower, thousands of feet high in the sky, it was the tallest and most powerful rift that had ever been seen.

And from the rift came monsters, hundreds and thousands of monsters, flowing into the city, one after the other. One after the other.

D, C, B, A. Every monster from every nook and cranny had come to the human world. Tearing through civilians and buildings. Paris was in shambles witching three minutes.

But that wasn't all...

That wasn't the last of it...

Leading the charge of the monster parade was three of the strongest monsters to ever live.

Three X-Class Monsters.

Eurus, Pan, and...

"I'm back for revenge... Humans!" (Volcan)

---

Marry stood opposite this X-Class Monster. It's figure was human like, glassy in texture, tall in stature. It stepped forward, the floor and the building suddenly and magically turned to glass.

Marry stepped forward. Her fingers crossed. Staring, watching, anticipating for the first move. She waited as the building morphed into a layers of glassy brick, see through on all sides.

The monster looked through the glass. The city burning all around them, screams in all directions.

"So this is the human world?" (Theia)

"Why are you here?" (Marry)

The monster glanced up at Marry's presence. He saw her white uniform.

"That clothing... Volcan warned me about you humans. The ones in white. You are the strong ones." (Theia)

Marry sighed. She released her crossed fingers staring blankly.

"This is getting on my nerves. You monster who can speak. It pisses me off. I joined the force to kill monsters mindlessly, not to think and strategize." (Marry)

She crossed her arms into the pattern of an X.

"You humans and your poses." (Their)

She leaned back. Her right leg forward and her left leg back. She pointed her arms directly at the glassy monster.

The sky rumbled.

"Thunder God!" (Marry)

The Monster stepped forward again. Its glassy feet touching the glassy floor. It took in a deep breath through its stiff, see-through face.

"I smell it... Thunder..." (Theia)

A strike of purple lighting struck through the building. It shattered the flimsy glassy structure. Shards in all directions. It blew everything away.

It hit Theia head-on.

The building crumbled as Marry shot herself up into the sky with lightning kicks.

She flipped across the open-air whilst looking straight down at the destroyed glass building.

She watched as the glassy monster walking unscathed from the rubble.

"Damn... Not a scratch. If my next attack doesn't work then I'm pretty much screwed." (Marry)

She stopped her magical lightning kicks and pointed her arms at Theia.

Its body standing stiff and still, it turned its mannequin-like head to Marry as she plummeted from the sky.

It stepped forward, every touch turning the ground to glass, it held out its arms.

"Bed of Glass!" (Theia)

The entire brick street exploded into a thousand layers of sharded glass, all pointing toward the sky.

Marry chanted with all her power and strength.

"Malevolent Thunder!" (Marry)

Two bolts of pink lighting shot from the sky above, their size and power spinning in circles, all pointed toward one point, one monster.

"Die!" (Marry)

Explosions in every direction. Everything was obliterated. All the corpses, all the humans, everything.

The two lightning bolts, the sizes of two dragons, shaking the entire city, sending rubble and debris into the sky.

But as Marry fell the monster stepped out from the dusted air, its glassy skin unfazed and undamaged. It was perfectly clear.

Marry pointed toward the ground, a bolt of thunder breaking her fall, she stood in the middle of the field of pointing glass.

The monster stepped forward.

"Shit..." (Marry)

All the glass impaled into Marry, her skin ripped to shreds, blood flowing everywhere, she fell back into a bed of glass.

Theia stepped through the field of glass and blood. Its statue-like body swaying from side to side until it reached the barely breathing Marty.

"A one in a trillion. That is what Volcan said you special humans were. The best of the best. But you... You disappoint me." (Theia)

Marry pointed her arms, her legs, her body, her head, she mangled the rest of her limbs into a cross stance. Everything crossing, pointing, all at Theia.

"I still have one more... Trick up my sleeve." (Marry)

She could barely breathe. The blood spilling from the holes in her body.

"Only the... First Class can use this ability... I am special... The third level of magic..." (Marry)

She closed her eyes. Focusing everything she had into one point. One spot.

"Thunder God's Heaven Wrath!" (Marry)

The earth shook, the skies, shook, everything around Marry shook.

All the glass in the surrounding area crumbled to tiny shards.

She pointed her finger up into the sky. A single spark. It's brightness abs godlike presence made the dark and rainy night bright and sunny.

The glassy monster reached out and touched it, but nothing happened. It touched it again and again.

"What is this magic?" (Theia)

---

A couple days back.

"The only way to become a First-Class Sorcerer is to achieve this level of magic. The third level of magic. It's the ultimate peak of human, nature, souls, and death. It's a spell so powerful that it uses up all of your magic in one go. You understand Jack? One go! It's a trump card.. But its not so colorful and all saving. Many youngsters who aren't aware of their limits sometimes accidentally use this third level. And they die! Yes, you heard me. It can only be used once at the beginning of a fight, because if a Sorcerer is already low on magic energy then they will die. It can only be used in a situation where you are prepared with healers and support Sorcerers to save your ass or in a situation where you know you are going to die." (Colt)

"Can you use that magic?" (Jack)

"Well duh. Of course I can... But I've never used it before." (Colt)

"Why not? You told me you had an infinite supply of magic or whatever?" (Jack)

"No no. I would use it in every battle I'm in, but... My second stage of magic is just too strong on its own. And the third stage increases this strength one hundredfold. If I were to use this, then I would probably kill every single human on this very planet." (Colt)

"It's really that strong?" (Jack)

"Yuparoo." (Colt)

"Thunder God's Heaven Wrath!" (Marry)

The spark of lighting destroyed the darkness in the sky.

The silence of the roar before the storm.

It obliterated everything in sight. All the lights, all the buildings, all the trees, all the people.

The sky turned whole, fizzling air to dust and smoke. Marry watched as the sky turned to a constant flash of blue, purple, and yellow.

She watched with her swollen bleeding eyes as all the lightning formed into a blast of heavenly rays.

She watched as it struck directly through the body of the glass monster. It's core shaking and shredding. She watched as it shattered into a thousand pieces. It's arms, legs, body. Cracks and gashes blowing it apart. Fell forward, its torso blast to hell and back, the world around her a waist land of nothing bust ash and death.

Thump.

The monster fell right next to her. Its head still attached my a single shard. It turned its stiff head toward Marry.

"Beautiful. But... Is this all...?" (Theia)

"Wha..." (Marry)

It was almost instantaneous. Marry watched as all the shredded and destroyed glass came together. Fixing itself like blue to a shattered cup. One after the other. Its pieces placing itself back together, back from where they came.

"Human. Do you know that Monsters are just like humans. We heal, and we breathe, and we speak. But there is one difference between us. We are gods, and you are mortals." (Theia)

Theia slowly rose to its shattered glass legs. Its body piecing itself back together as it moved. Piece by piece. Piece by piece.

It slowly stumbled over Marry. It's cold stare. Its statue-like movements, like a doll come to life. It limped closer.

Marry tried to crawl away, but her legs and arms were shredded, blood flowing, body stopping, heart-stopping, she was out of magic, but she still tried. She tried her hardest to move, but the glass was everywhere, in every hole, in every crevasse, piercing with immediate pain.

"But I do commend you, human. My body is the strongest of us so-called X-Class Monsters. I am made of pure diamond and glass. It can not be easily scratched or cracked. But you shattered me..." (Theia)

It stood shadowing over Marry's destroyed body.

Its arm forming back together, piecing itself back together as it reached down to grab her hair, to grab her body, her skin. To touch her directly.

Marry looked up. Her eyes wandering for any help. For anyone. But she remembered that she sent her Second-Class Sorcerers away. That she did that on purpose.

She thought that maybe it was because she didn't want them to die, or maybe it was because she didn't want them to get in the way, or maybe...

It was because she didn't want to let them see her die, to see the way she would go out, to see how weak she was, how pitiful it would be.

She sobbed.

Her face balling out. Like a child who scratched against the ground. Crying in pain, wailing for a better life, for a better go at things.

She was too young, too smart, too fast...

She was given everything. Her title. Her rank. Her role. She wanted to do so much more. So much better. To have a simpler life. With her... But she was...

Marsh was...

She stopped herself from crying.

"I'll miss you, Marsh... They'll tell you I went out like a hero... That I fought valiantly... But we all know that's not the case... I'll die the same way we all die... Remembered and forgotten... And I hope... One day you will too... And one day you'll be able to surpass m-" (Marry)

Theia turned her to glass.

"Captain...!" (Francisco)

The rest of her squad came back to help, but they were too late. They watched from the other end of the charred crater as the X-Class Monster stood over Marry's body. Her dead body. It's blank stare, its cracked texture.

Tears rolling down their eyes. They stood crying as Marry laid flat, lifeless, a model of her once alive self. She was gone. Dead. A glassy figure, fully see-through, and fully clear.

"Humans... What do you see in them Volcan?" (Theia)

It happened within seconds. Before anyone could run away. Before any of the remaining four Second-Class Sorcerers could do anything to attack.

They were already dead.

Their bodies turned to glass...

"Now that that is over. It is time to finish what I came to this world to do. To kill that human. To kill the Volcan lost to." (Theia)
