Chapter 8: King's Duty

The forest clears up and what's in front now is a big barren land full of sands.

Some small mountains can be also seen around but not even a single one of them has a tree on it.

The whole land is barren and the road is all hard and has some cracks on it.

It's clear that there had been no rain for years.

Soon, they all could see a big wall in the center of this barren land, and that's the prison house where all prisoners are sent.

The population is barely around 100 including the soldiers around the wall.

People die every weak here so that is the biggest reason why there is not much population.

As they reached near the prison place, Chiyou could see the whole structure or building of this prison camp.

The walls are in a circular type shape with 6 watchtowers (hectagon/hexagon shape) and have only one entrance gate.

Chiyou with his beast-like eyes can also see that there are few big buildings inside these walks where most probably prisoners or officials live and there are also many other small buildings everywhere.

It's a total mess as he can barely see any space among people who are walking here and there.

At the Entrance Gate-

Guards were taking rest under some shade of watchtowers as it sun was sharp, but suddenly they sensed something.

A soldier that was drinking water from his cup, saw the water trembling and weapons put on the ground rolling here and there.

When they looked at the source of this shaking, they all are shocked as a Giang One Eye Demon with Six hands is walking towards them

"Demon!!!!!" A soldier roared and another person blew the horn

All the prisoners in the field and other people immediately understood that a demon has attacked and all prisoners were thrown into their cells and all soldiers took their weapons and hid behind big objects

It's clear that such a demon cant be executed by any person present in the place so it's better to hide and let the demon just leave.

Maybe some will get caught and also some damage would be the cause but at least its better than everyone dying.

On the Giant Demons shoulder-

The air on the shoulder is hot but still its okay than people on the ground

All of them stopped at the gate

"Where the hell are they all?" Sun Mo asked as he looked around, having half-beast blood in him, Sun Mo all 5 senses are really sharp

He could clearly tell that the soldiers are hiding for some reason

"Oh yeah, we on are a giant one eye beast, ahahaha

Friend Chiyou, it seems like your new recruit is not like by many ahahaha" Sun Mo said with a laugh

"That is expected Prince Sun Mo, i'll go and check them"

"I am also coming with you"

Both of them jump from the shoulders of the demon to the wall, landing on the wall, they could clearly see soldier hiding behind walls

"tch tch, these soldiers... you will need to do a lot of work Friend Chiyou" Sun Mo said as he jumped in front of soldiers, and in a loud tone, he said "IDIOTS!!!!

Cant, you see that I am prince Sun MO?!!!!!

Also, that giant demon is the new gatekeeper so no need to be scared"

All soldiers were already thinking from where the prince came and now the news about the demon being the guard shocked them more

"Also, my father has given this whole land to my friend Chiyou, so it means that from this moment onwards, you all are his subjects

He is the king of this place" Sun Mo said proudly as Chiyou walked to his side

"Demon?" the first thing a soldier said when he saw Chiyou

"OYE, what the hell did you call my friend?" Sun MO became furious at the words he listens to and in a blink, grabbed the neck of that soldier who dared to call his friend a demon.

The soldier screamed in pain and asked for forgiveness but Sun Mo had no plan to leave him alive, but Chiyou held his hand and said "Prince Sun Mo, its okay i am used to this"

"But still you are a king, how can they disrespect you?"

"Its okay prince Sun Mo, people usually call me demons when they look at me. So it's all okay.

I will discipline them myself"

"Sigh..

alright, if you say so" Sun Mo said and let the soldier live

Soon every single person was called out and everyone paid their respect to Prince Sun Mo

"Everyone, as you must have heard, this whole barren land is now under my friend Chiyou, from this very moment on, you all have to address him as your king.

All the matters of this land will be controlled by him" Sun Mo told everyone and then took a step back

He looked at Chiyou and said "Go, say something to your subjects"

Chiyou walked in front of everyone, he said "I am your king... and I know that many of you here are just prisoners.... but you are now my subjects.

Let's all work together and make this barren land a paradise where we all can live in peace.

Lets work hard for that goal"

It was way too simple and Sun Mo wants to laugh but he held himself back as it's his friend's day so he can't do anything stupid.

All prisoners and soldier were waiting for more but that was it so, after a long silence

"LONG LIVE KING CHIYOU"

everyone chanted his name

Nighttime-

The biggest building inside the prison camp is used as a shelter for Prince Sun Mo and the new King of Sullegar Kingdom

Sullegar was just a barren land at first, but now it has become a kingdom after it came under Chiyou.

Right now inside the room of Chiyou-

"So this is the reason why its known as devil's playground" Sun Mo said as he looked at all the reports presented by the head of this whole prison camp.

Reports clearly indicated that people die mostly by demons/monsters/beasts attacks or from food and water shortage.

The whole land is barren so there is no way that they can grow their own food thus, they have to rely on the kingdom but getting food till here is also a problem as beasts would attack at food carriage

Sun Mo did bring some food and water for Chiyou but it not enough when it will be feed to everyone present here, which is what he did after his announcement

He threw all foods and water to the people

Chiyou remained silent as he monitored the whole map.

The land he is given to rule is barren and it's not that big but how much land can he use?

"Prince Sun Mo, am i allowed to use some more land after these walls?" Chiyou asked with respect

Sun Mo walked to his side and said "is that even something to ask? Of course, the whole barren land is yours, though if you don't like it then don't worry i will ask my father to give you proper land, even i don't like this land much, its really hot here"

Chiyou smiled and said, "Don't worry prince, as a king of this land, i won't let my precious friend face any trouble.

Tomorrow, i will do some perform my duty as a king"

"what duty?"

"Just kings duty,

Its a secret Prince Sun Mo"
