Petrified

The duo arrived at a unfamiliar place, they were in a dark alleyway with no signs of people. Calix fell on the floor with a loud thud as he felt dizzy due to the change in lighting.

"Can you help me get up Allen? My legs are numb right now." Calix complained, reaching out his hands, hoping Allen woukd grasp it. Seeing his friend unresponsive, he tug his friend's shirt.

Allen turned around and place a finger over his mouth, hinting for silence than he mouthed the words, 'There's suspicious people.'

Getting the hint, Calix let go of Allen's shirt and attempted to fix his numb leg and eventually stood up on his own, he leaned and whispered into Allen's ear, "How's the situation like?"

"Human trafficking, drugs and all that stuff." Allen casually said and looked up the walls of the alleyway, trying to find a route to avoid contact with the suspicious group of people.

Calix peeped onto the other side of the alleyway, many crates were seen, labeled fragile, some boxes were stained with a red like liquid, some boxes were covered ina mysterious powder. He turned around, about to ask Allen to intervene and stop the lawbreakers.

"Hey..so are we going to help?" Calix nervously asked when he realized that Allen had taken no interest in helping, and was only finding a safe route.

"It's their jobs, we shouldn't intervene." Allen coldly replied, about to cast magic that would help them access the other side of the alleyway wall easier.

"But.. I feel bad for those..people." Calix mumured nervously, sure, he could attempt to eradicate the suspicious group but what if they outnumbered him?

Allen turned around, seeing that Calix has paused in his tracks and was sweating terribly. He sighed and realized that Calix was still a firm follower of justice even though he ended up in the underworld.

"I'm no hero, Calix." Allen stated with a cold look on his face, staring down at Calix who had a shocked look on his face.

"I-i.. it's alright then.." Calix reluctantly answered, looking back at the group of lawbreakers with guilt in his eyes.

"However, if it'll make you at ease and not space out.." Allen continued with a small smirk, raising his hands, snow could be seen swirling around his fingers. "Than I'll do it." he finished.

Ice started forming beneath Allen's legs and his hands started freezing the wall, in less than a second, the exit and entry of the alleyway was blocked by ice, alarming the group of people, making them stand on guard.

"Whose there?!" one of the man yelled, pulling out a knife from one of the crates.

Calix stared at Allen with admiration and got ready into position. "What should we do..?" he asked, not sure of what the objective should be.

"A easier way is to kill them." Allen replied, "but you'll proabably dislike the method and puke possibly." he said with disappointment.

Allen knelt down on the ground and placed his hand on the ice, crackling sound could be heard getting louder. Dark blue and purple lightning could be seen rushing through the ice, reaching the group of lawbreakers and shocking them with electricity.

The group of man started yelling in pain, trying to break out of the ice walls. The electricity was still rushing through their whole body, eventually putting them out of commission.

"You check the crates, I'll burn the ice down." Allen purposed, not wanting to leave traces behind. Normal fire started surronding Calix and him, melting the ice at a quick speed.

After the ice was melted, Calix rushed over to the crates and opened then up, some contained jewelry and cash while some had packets of white powder. He reached the dreaded boxes that had blood stains, his hands shaking, he opened the box, closing his eyes in fear and opening his eyes one at a time to see what was inside.

Calix stepped backwards, hands over his mouth to prevent him from making any sound. He was relieved that it wasn't humans inside the boxes, however, animals that were bleeding terribly and unconscious was stuffed inside the crates as if they were stuffed toys.

"Oh." Allen remarked, not surprised by the items inside. He looked over to the crates of animals that looked like dogs that were huge in size. "Watchdogs possibly?" he said, turning to Calix to check up on his situation.

"Disgusting.." Calix said, his mouth still over his hands.

"Report this to the guards walking around." Allen suggested, ruffling his hair.

"The dogs will be in pain when they wake up.." Calix said, tears about to flow from his eyes.

Allen sighed and rolled his eyes, he bended down near the crates and placed his hand over them, green magic flowed out of his hands, healing the wounds of the dogs immediately.

Left shocked, Calix jogged over and grabbed his friend's shoulder, "You..have healing magic?" he asked.

"Let's inform a guard about this so we can start heading towards the Adelson's house. We don't have time to play around." he said, ignoring Calix's question where the answer was rather obvious.

Soon, Calix spotted a guard walking infront of the alleyway, near rows of shops that looked inviting. He ignored them when he remembered Allen's instructions and head right over to the guard, informing him about the situation in the alleyway and leading him to the area.

The guard eyes widened and bended down to see all the loot and the people who were unconscious. "Grey Scorpions Clan? You..managed to defeat them?" the guard asked, turning around but Calix was nowhere to be seem.

Allen waited for Calix near one of the shops in the south direction from where they had started, Calix had provided Allen with an extra compass he brought in his suitcase.

"Done?" Allen asked when he saw Calix rushing over.

"Yeah, let's get out before we get caught for investigation." Calix said with a smile, grateful that Allen had lended him a hand just because he was uncomfortable with leaving the lawbreakers alone.

"Follow me, I asked a few people, they said the auction house will take atleast an hour..to reach." Allen said, going quiet. He was so taken aback by the sudden event that he had forgotten that he was indeed in the real world, where his hopes and dreams lay, he took a deep breath and continued.

Calix and Allen followed a long path, not taking any breaks in between, determined to reach their destination. Soon, they had finally reached a place with larger buildings that looked much more grand and luxurious.

Continue along the route they reached a large blinding mansion that was build with gold, the gate and fencing were tall and large to prevent intruders from easily entering.

Allen looked up to make sure the description Aaron gave matched the exterior of the building, after confirming it was, he dragged the shocked Calix by the collar and walked to the gate.

Looking around, Allen was confused on how to call out the Adelsons. He eventually found a button by the door and pressed it, a large bell sound was heard ringing through the neighborhood and a maid could be seen rushing out at a fast speed.

The maid quickly ran over and unlocked the gate with mutiple buttons and locks when she had verified that one of the children had a card with the Adelson logo.

She smiles when the gate finally opened with ease, looking up, she stared at the 'children' that were supposedly guests and relatives of the Adelsons.

Candy red eyes were now piercing through her whole body, the maid stood as still as a stone, petrified by the intense frightening aura she felt from one of the guest.

"Oh my god, the architecture of the mansion is flawless!" Calix complimented, unintentionally breaking the tense atmosphere. He didn't even realize that Allen was emitting a scary aura as he had gotten used to it as he spend too much time with Allen.

The only recent event where Calix got scared of Allen was just now when they had encountered the lawbreakers, he felt chills ran down his spine when he had seen his friend defeat a bunch of adults with ease.

"Nice to meet you, we're relatives of the Adelsons. I'm Ace and my friend is Chance." Allen said, forcing a smile to appear more friendly.

"Ri-right!" the maid said, still scared. She could still feel fear even when the guest supposedly named Ace was smiling.

"Welcome to the Adelson's household, Chance and Ace." a woman with long silky hair that reached her waist said from behind the maid with a warm smile.
