Growth in the city.

Chapter 13

“Watch out!” The last word she heard before being pulled away from the traffic ahead.

She was running, running away from all the continuous drama. Running away from an unacceptable truth, running from the pain she did not want to endure. It was the day of the matrix results what an amazing day for Abdullah to pop up and give her information she lived perfectly fine without...

Afraid, bothered, and tired of her life heading towards a direction she wanted nothing to do with. They both received their reports with an amazing bachelor pass, with Aiden making it into the top 20.

The day started off well until Arylan’s grandfather showed up pretending as if nothing was wrong with his presence. He ended up blurting out a few words that opened up old wounds.

She sat down at the bus stop where she was dragged off the road by Aiden.

“You have got to stop doing that…”

“I know it’s just, I always run away from my problems it’s an instinct now.”

“ well if you ever want to run away again, rather run into my arms.”

She looked towards him confused, “ run into your arms?” she asked smiling

“ it’s safer…”

Soon a new chapter in the lives of these pre-adults was about to start. Eric was all settled down in England near wales where his father's main branch was situated, he was going to study marketing as well a business. Something he was forced to pursue.

“ hello there, ” she said waving towards his direction

Eric pointed towards himself curiously.

“ yes, I can’t seem to find anyone from my major. Can you please assist me, ” she said handing him a pamphlet

“ I’m new as well, and orientation is tomorrow, Today is move-in day," he said using his fingers as quotations

“ oh thank you. I’m Jasmine, nice to meet you. I’m from camps bay south Africa.”

“ I’m Eric a pleasure to meet you as well. The accent gave you away. It’s good to know that I’m not the only one from Southern Africa.”

She smiled waving goodbye to him. Will the player finally stop breaking hearts for this woman with a childish smile…or does he already have someone else in his heart.

Abdullah was on the hunt for the woman in the photo, a photo taken 8years ago. Tim wasn’t aware of his visit to grandmother Biel. He was forced to head back to the city where his son was murdered, murdered in a cold-blooded manner, not given the chance to raise his children or grow old with his wife...

In the meantime, Grandmother took out the freshly baked cupcakes from the oven, before handing some hot chocolate to uncle Tim. It’s been a while since they’ve had a decent less complicated chat with each other. Arylan was out with Aiden half of the time so Tim could plot easily with Biel by his side.

“cancer, ” she said handing him a cupcake.

“ What do you mean, use full sentences.”

“ I got my results, I have stage one cancer, ” she said sitting her cup down, “ don’t tell Arylan, and I don’t plan on doing the treatment…I’m too old for all of that. I just hope before I die, the girl remembers her mother at least, and if you still here keep that venomous Abdullah away from her.”

“ I understand. But if it's money you worried about I'll pay for your treatment, ” Tim said with trembling hands.

“ it’s not the money…I miss my son.”

With that being said, and grandmother's decision being made about not undergoing treatment. Tim was left with very little time.

“ promise me in our next life that you’ll marry me instead,” he said sternly.

“ but if I do, I won’t have my Haxel or Arylan. You’ve accompanied me half of my life, I don’t regret marrying Abdullah…but I would’ve regretted marrying you without loving you.”

It was true, even if Tim spent half of his life chasing after Biel, trying to get him to be his girl She always ended up falling for Abdullah…the heart will love who it wants.

Tim never lived to regret having to love someone wholeheartedly without the feeling being returned and Biel never regretted anything even if there was suffering, the most precious thing she’s received throughout her life was from the pain she went through.

Arylan began packing her bags for university, she would soon be staying on campus. With all of her belongings shipped to her university, all she needed was to get there on time. With the documents finalized she took a bus with Aiden to the airport.

“ Are you excited?” Aiden asked looking towards her

She was seated on the other side of the bus, “ more or less, ” she said making hand signs.

She missed Eric. She missed his annoying laughter, his blunt comments…everything felt incomplete without the person she spent half of her life with. Even if Aiden made her happy, she was truly herself around Eric.

They arrived at the airport, freshened up, and caught their flight to Pretoria. They arrived a few moments later going their separate ways to prepare their dorms…The next day everyone was gathered for the annual orientation. They were given a tour around the school and shown where each of their majors where to be studied. Once everyone was familiar with the place they choose their professors before Aiden found Arylan for lunch.

They caught up and bumped into a few potential friends.

Eric had the same on his plate and was followed around but the girl he met the previous day. It was funny to watch her make silly mistakes and turns out that they in the same major.
