Your lying!

Chapter 19

Arylan looked up to the people standing in front of her. She stood up slowly walking towards them.

“ the social worker girl, is this your mother?” she asked looking at them confused.

“ jee(yes), to be exact our mother.”

“excuse me…I have no parents, ” she said trying to walk away.

The woman grabbed her hand, “ Arylan it’s me, how can you forget. Yasim white.”

“I don’t even know the name of my mother, how would I know that it’s you.”

"Arylan, remember the swing?"

She said shaking her

The room around Arylan suddenly began spinning…she collapsed into Aiden's arms. Everyone panicking, as they watched her lay in his arms unconsciously…an ambulance arriving. The dream, the one she had every night, in the garden of a mansion. The man pushing the younger-looking version of her on the swing mentioned earlier and the woman…the one with no face who always stood there with snacks suddenly had a face.

She woke up hyperventilating…the pain in her head kicking at her. After drinking her medication, Aiden and Eric rushed out to call for a doctor.

Yasmin walked over to her, grabbing her hand. “ so you really don't know me.”

She pulled her sweaty hand away, “ who are you!” she began yelling.

The doctors walked in injecting her. After being put to sleep her mother cried, holding onto her younger daughter.

The next morning Aiden left with the girl. Eric and Arylans mother were left alone in the ward.

She woke up moaning about the pain in her head.

Yasmin took a few steps back looking down, “ are you okay?”

Arylan shook her head looking to the other side of the room, “ where’s my father…”

“your father, he…”

“he's in another country, ”Eric said chipping in

“shut up and leave,

“but..."

“leave Eric," Arylan repeats coldly.

After grabbing his coat he went out to where uncle Tim was, who was smoking his cigarette, he lit one for Eric.

“ how do you feel?” Eric asked

“ how do I feel with the love of my life being gone?”

“ my apologies, that was an insensitive question.”

“forget about me, how do you feel…”

“what do you mean?” Eric asked

“You're about to increase the pain that woman is facing…”

“ I didn’t say I’ll do it.”

“we’ll see how your father feels about that,” Tim said leaving.

Arylan left with her mother in the room, who explained that she doesn’t know about what happened to her father and how she thought that I was living with him, explaining the past from her perspective.

Aiden went over to the grave of grandmother, telling her about his conversion to Islam and his intention to pursue Arylan the correct way…just as he had promised her a few months back. Arylan was discharged later that day, the autopsy of her grandmother will be released in three months…that’s only when they’ll find out the real cause of her death.

She sat across her little sister who’s eyes were just as swollen as hers, “ you really don’t remember me?” her sister asks.

Arylan shaking her head in fear, “ I don't even remember myself. I’m such a terrible older sister.”

“no your not, I heard about what happened to you over the years…I don’t blame you, im sorry for causing such a ruckus

“ you haven’t done anything wrong, let’s start afresh…I might be quiet for the next few weeks…but that’s only because I lost a huge piece of me…give me time to process everything.”

“ I understand.”

With months going by, and them moving in with Arylan. She still couldn't process the death of her grandmother and was uncertain about the relationship she could possibly have with them.

“ Eric, why did you want to see me?”

“You're still mad at me aren’t you?”

“ Why wouldn’t I be.”

“ I’m sorry. It won’t happen again he said turning his chair.”

“keep your apology, ” she said leaving his office.

She couldn’t process what was happening around her, and even if her mother told her about what happened…it doesn’t feel right, bits were missing.

“ you did it, didn’t you, ”Tim said walking towards him, “ you poisoned her…”

“ if you already know, why do you ask?”

“ you’re a freaken devil!” Tim said taking out his gun, “ I would kill you, but I wouldn’t want you ruining her afterlife as well.”

“ it was her decision to die.”

“what are you talking about.”

“if Arylan ever found out about the murder, I would kill her. So she explained how she was the only one who knew about it but couldn’t keep it a secret anymore. So she agreed to die..”

“How heartless can you be…” Tim said falling onto the ground, “ I left you for all these years, but now… I'll show you what I’m cable of.”

Abdullah left…smiling. He felt a sense of victory, even if deep down he knew that he couldn’t process the death of Biel.

Arylan was clearing out grandmother's stuff, packing everything away…she smelt every piece of clothing pressing it onto her body. She still couldn't believe that she was gone, that she could never see her again. Grandmother was not there for her anymore. After crying over the pile of clothing, she discovered a letter warning her about Abdullah, and that she shouldn’t easily trust Eric as well.

The note pointed to a box, an album of her, her sister, and her parents. Being as broken as she was she found something, something she that would change everything she knew about herself. The murder of Haxel Biel, written in bold on the old crusty newspaper…
