Its almost over...

Chapter 28

“ do you understand now?” Tim said passing her a journal, “ this belonged to grandmother, read it…and you’ll know what is the real truth behind you, your father, the role your mother played…and who I actually am.”

“what more could I find out after what you just said…” Arylan says turning away, “ uncle Tim, I’m getting older but things aren’t getting any easier, my dreams aren’t coming true…im living in the past with all these secrets, I can’t seem to understand what’s the use of having known the truth if in the end…there is no end.”

“ Arylan dear, you were given a very special destiny. One that’s been influenced for two generations, it’s up to you to put an end to all of this or to allow it to continue and flow to your children and theirs. Everyone has their suffering, everyone has their past and just because you knew nothing about yours till something tragic happened does not mean that your any different…grandmother will only rest in peace once this man pays for his sins…she protected you, now it’s your turn…”

After having a talk with uncle Tim Arylan knew that nothing around her was going to be solved by her burying it, she was informed of the plans that uncle Tim had been making trough out his life. It’s just one man nothing different about him to another. Arylan did not believe in revenge but this wasn’t revenge…this was doing what was right…what should have been done ages ago, something that will heal society and uncle Tim's, damaged heart. It was not a hasty decision to make but it had to be done.

“ you’re here….i thought you wanted nothing to do with me.”

“you're my grandfather, you have no family…you have money but no one to give it to, you have your empire I wouldn’t want to watch your name disappear after all your hard work.”

“that doesn’t make sense and who told you about my profession?”

“ take a guess…”

“ I don’t want to know but I am looking for a few recruits as you can see I am understaffed, but of course just like everyone else you must go through a series of tests…not sure if you can handle it.”

“Bring it on.”

With Arylan starting off uncle Tim's plans Eric was left visiting grandmother's grave on the daily, it was time that he built his own empire. Aiden was left on the outside of Arylans plans and the rest of them had no idea as to what was happening with her missing half of the time. Uncle Tim was often home distracting everyone from Arylan missing.

“you're telling me that you’ve gotten over the loss but you eat less, sleepless and I haven’t seen you play around with your dating apps lately,” Aiden said

“ people change…”

“you're not the Eric I know, I thought you would’ve taken the whole learning to support yourself emotionally better but clearly you have a lot more issues than I thought you do.”

“ what do you mean.”

“ be strong Eric, its good to be emotional sometimes and fall apart…but you have to pick yourself up. I can’t comfort you the way grandmother and Arylan do but I want you to know that… I'll do my best to help you get through this.”

“ Thank you…maybe I just need to keep myself busy, I’ll be better in no time.”

After taking Eric out for his favorite meal they went their separate ways.

“ update me has he finally opened up to you?”

“Like you said it'll take time, but so far I’ve passed all his tests, been doing what you told me to…not eating or drinking anything and just being observant.”

“good, by the way, I wanted to hand this over to you.”

Arylan gently accepts the large envelope, “ this is my will and since I have no children or family it all belongs to you…I want you to understand that when I die you must stay away from my gang…they will try to illuminate you if they find out about this.”

“I can’t possibly accept this, you’ve given me morals fatherly love, and now helping me get justice. Tim, you have to find someone else.”

“it's yours. 75 percent will go to charity. The rest is for you, it’s not that much, and like you said…im just like your father, so as my daughter you have a right over my wealth.”

She left the abandoned building with her mask on, ensuring that no one was spying on her. After admitting her resignation letter she went home later that day to relax. The road ahead wasn’t going to be an easy one and after uncle Tim informing her of how old he was getting she needed to act fast.

“Your finally home on time, do I even get a say in what you’ve been up to lately?”

“ it’s good to see you too, I’ve just been working…heavy matters.”

“you mean the job you quit a month ago. You can have secrets but lying is something else.”

“I wish I could explain, but I can’t...you have to be patient.”

“ I hope you aren’t hiding anything major, I’m leaving. Eric said he’s coming over for lunch so make sure he eats, his been skipping meals lately.”

He left the room as Arylan began to cook, no crockery planned out for that day. Eric arrived later with some groceries till they proceeded to cook a classic dish.

“ Aiden still doesn’t know?”

“He doesn’t have to…”

“ his your husband, aren’t you suppose to share the burden or whatever,” Eric says putting the utensils down.

“ let’s not talk about it he might hear us.”

“ hear what?” Aiden says walking in, “ what are you two hiding.”

“nothing, your early from work.”

“I had an early court case today, don’t change the topic what are you two whispering about.”

“ you see Eric now because your so foolish Aiden knows about my anniversary surprise.”

“ I’m sorry, but in the end, you spat it out. Not much of a surprise now is it, ” he says grinding his teeth

“ serve the food, ”Aiden says sitting down.

The cover-up went well this time but lord knows for how long it’ll work out, keeping secrets from someone is what destroys a relationship…Was Arylan ready for the consequences.
