Episode 26: My Bestfriend to The Rescue

The ache in my back seemed to have stopped or may be it was the drugs. I couldn't feel anything. But I could breath again.

Opening my eyes I saw Alfie sitting on a chair beside my bed with a bandaged head. I was in an old, dingy hospital room with several beds with only drapes being the partition between them. Thankfully, there were no voices of awake patients, the time being so late at night.

"Are you okay?" I asked or atleast tried to.

"A lot better than you are," Alfie replied.

Behind him was a man, the man with the scar, the man standing in the middle of the road despite the heavy downpour, the man who was possibly after me and the people I loved. Now that I got a closer look, the man seemed to be in his late thirties, expressionless face as if it was a mask in its entirety.

To make matters worse, Alfie's parents got there. They were trying to maintain their composure while talking to him but he had neither the will nor the temper.
