Dinner and a...Show.

I walk into the cozy dining room, surrounded by the delicious aromas of food, which is definitely Abuela's cooking.

The woman in question beams when she sights me, and tears gather in my eyes as I race towards her to be enveloped in her teddy bear hug.

"I almost thought I'd never see you again," she whispers into my ear, and I hear the crack in her voice.

"Me too," I say, meaning it with every fiber in me.

"Look at them being all lovey-dovey," Chico's dry tone of voice says from behind me. Abuela laughs and releases me to see him and Rehan already seated at the table, chatting while arranging the food. I take a seat, salivating over the meal.

"You're acting like you didn't eat good food at my place," Rehan scoffs, elbowing me.

I grimace. "None of those meals can be compared to Abuela's, sorry."

He sends a fake glare my way, then chuckles. "I know what you mean."
