Chapter 25: Impending Rival (Part 1)

Picking up right where things had left off in the Bunker, Essen was contemplating whether to grant Merci's request to go back to the cemetery where she could visit her sister. She was at the moment holding Ezra at gunpoint; a flamethrower point to be exact.

"No, we can't go back to the cemetery," he finally decided.

But Merci did not want this answer. So she tightened her jawline and spitefully then pressed the trigger of the flamethrower just enough to cause a little flame to appear at the muzzle of it, which she tauntingly aimed at the side of Ezra's face, who was kneeled at her feet with both of his hands and feet bound.

"What do you mean we can't go back?" She demanded.

"Easy," the detective quickly cautioned her, lifting his hands in the air.

"I want to see my sister!"
