Chapter 34: The Stiletto (Part 2)

About an hour later someone came knocking on her door. By this time Merci had undressed into a gown and was sitting in front of a dresser mirror, wiping away the black grease paint that was smeared across her eyes. Her costume had been placed on a mannequin that was to the side of her.

"What?" She answered with a wrinkle appearing in the middle of her forehead.

The door subsequently opened and Jessica walked in.

"Seriously, can anyone just enter my dressing room? What do you want and who the hell are you?"

"I'm Jessica."

"You say that like it supposed to mean something."

"Exactly. It should mean something to you."

"Okay, give me a reason why I shouldn't just kill you now with my blade for disturbing my spirit."

But Jessica was paying no attention to her. She was looking at the mannequin. "I knew her. I met her once while I was working at this diner in the Gutters."

"Who the hell are you talking about?"
