Chapter 48: The Prodigal Son Returns (Part 1)

Reaching the unknown location, Ian walked into a vault room where he met five men dressed in clerical red cloaks. They had a long, carved chess placed on a table that was in the centre of the vault, waiting for him.

"Is this it," Ian came to a stop at the table; towering over the chest with his head tilted upwards, foreboding.

"Yes," one of the clergymen replied. "But why do you---"

"Show it to me?" Ian impatiently asked. So the clergyman swallowed what he was going to ask him and opened the box. In the box was the God Killer sword, reflecting its silver and whispering in tiny inaudible voices. "This is new," Ian said, referring to the sword's whisperings. "When did it start doing this?"

"Last week, father."

"Do you know why?"

"No, father."

Squinting his eyes with suspicion, he ordered the clergyman to "Seal the box and put it on the plane. It's no longer safe here in the city."

"Where are we taking it?" The clergyman asked as he and another sealed the box together.
