Chapter 59: The Truth Hurts (Part 1)

The next evening at Kapitol News headquarters, which was a twenty-storey megastructure in the Downtown area, entirely devoted to news and entertainment, a couple of the company's most regarded journalists were in a briefing room with their editor-in-chief, Lawrence Fisher. Popular T.V. and radio host Truth Tucker and now prime-time news anchor, Johanna Hall, was among the top names in the room with their boss.

"Viewership is down eighteen per cent since our last quarterly report," Lawrence began, lighting a Cuban Cigar that was hinged at the side of his mouth. "People we need a headliner for tomorrow news in three, two, one..."

"Israeli, Palestinian two-state solution agreement wasn't a good idea after all?" One reporter stated.

"Too sensitive and controversial," Lawrence immediately shot down. "Anyone has anything better that won't invoke the almighty cancel culture on us?"

"Are self-serving shopping apps replacing grocery clerks and cashiers?" Another reporter stated
