In a corridor on a school campus, a youth who was average in height, have uncommon waist size with a protruding bum, a pair of plumpy butt and jiggling flesh, was running straight to a certain direction.
Ahead was a group of girls walking together. They're quite loud, with their voices reverberated in the empty and silent corridor, loud and clear.
"Is it really right for me ditching him without a word? I could have just confronted him."
"Christine you should use that head of yours. That fatty will only cling like a leech if you give him a sliver of hope. Leaving him there alone, is making your answer clear."
"Well, I guess he wasn't dumb enough to understand such a common sense."
"You have a point, but..."
"She's right. Enough of being too kind. That lecher isn't worth a single of that, else you'll only be taken advantage of. And, c'mon girl, keep your standards in check, will you?"
In the midst of their conversation, someone shouted and caught all their attention.
"Christine! Wait!" The young man who was heavily panting, cried out.
He was holding a bouquet of tulips, a bar of an expensive chocolate and a container emitting a good smell. Anyone could tell that he was prepared for an event to happen.
Even after hearing those girls' words which heavily criticized and detested him as clear a day, still, he wanted to hear it coming from a certain someone's own mouth. Although it sounded so desperate and pathetic, but he still wanted a try, hoping to hear a different set of words.
"W-Why didn't you appeared on the roof top? Please, please answer me." He asked with a hint of begging, while trying to set his breathing right.
One girl scornfully glared at him. "Will you stop bothering our friend?! She's already nice to you, but you're abusing her kindness!"
The girl stepped forward, with a sorry look on her face. "Ah, Cherom, I am really sorry but I cannot afford to date you."
"Why?" The big guy asked while looking at her eyes, feeling wronged and his face was telling that his world was crumbling into pieces.
"Come on Cristine! Let's leave this desperate virgin fatty!"
Being dragged by her friends, Cristine loudly answered, while maintaining an eye contact with the boy. "I already have someone I like!"
With that, the girl stride fastly, having the same pace with her friends. It's was as if a huge thorn was finally removed in her heart.
That struck him hard, deep, unforgettable.
"Oh, I see." He nodded, yet his head was momentarily empty.
That day was his 23rd confession. With that number of sincere confessions, all resulted to one answer, rejection. It was absolutely traumatizing.
Almost all of it was direct rejection, some were indirect but still produced the same outcome, a tragic heartbreak. This was supposed to be his last try, his last confession throughout the rest of his existence, yet he failed again.
He sat on the cold flooring and started eating the food with him, while tears were dripping down to his cheeks.
At the end of the day, he could only rely on food to remedy his broken heart. Food, it was the only thing that made him feel good for the rest of his life. Although it was also the main reason of his death, yet, it was all worth it.
A young man was sitting on a wooden chair. Been sobered up from a long and deep thought, he messed his hair up. The name was still Cherom, yet with a totally different built and appearance.
He sighed deeply. "Aish, I remembered it again."
In the next second, he stood up from his seat, got a glass, filing it with water and drank a mouthful to clear his mind.
Suddenly, someone came knocking his door hard. "Sir Black! Sir Black!"
He then quickly opened the wooden door before it breaks.
"What is it? Good news? Anyone wanting to hire me?" Cherom who was dressed with all black from head to toe, asked the man in front of him, who was a head smaller than him.
"Yes, but we have a problem." The young man sighed.
Cherom was surprised, "Why? Is my qualification not enough for the task?"
The young man shook his head strongly. "No, of course not. But the client wanted to see you personally."
"No problem then."
After the smaller youth went out of his office, the young man named Cherom went out the door. He was wearing a black cloak, hiding his face under the hood.
In the small, clean and cozy living room, there was a girl seated there.
The girl had a long, silky blond hair, a pair of charming almond-shaped purple eyes, dainty nose and lips as fresh and beautiful as pink roses. A fresh, youthful and enchanting beauty.
Looking at the undeniable beauty before him, a hint of surprise appeared in the Cherom's pair of eyes but it vanished just as fast as it came. He quickly regained his composure.
After the young man in black have made himself seated comfortably, the girl threw her words fast at him.
"I want to see your face." The girl said quite straightforwardly.
However, the youth didn't budge at all as if fully unconcerned with her words. "If you're not satisfied with how I look at the moment, please see another adventurer to do your task miss. I will not send you off."
Firm like his words, the young man stood up, then started walking back to his office.
The girl sighed. "Fine, I won't insist. Let's discuss about the task I want you to accomplish."
The tall young man who paused by her words, nodded. "Then please, come inside my office to discuss it."
In the next moment, a youth was already seated on his brown wooden chair, when the girl arrived before him.
"Please close the door." He uttered casually.
The girl did so, but there was a hint irritation cannot be hidden from her eyes. She ended up closing it or rather, it was correct to say, slamming it. But to her surprise, the young man seemed not to mind. He immediately asked about the real business.
Seeing the miss seated, Cherom added, "What level of difficulty does your task have?"
"D difficulty." She replied with a little forced tone.
The young man nodded slowly, as he wrote the detail on his yellow paper. "Okay."
Hearing those words, the girl was as if not in content. "No, I mean, I actually have a level C Difficulty. I want you to eliminate the Green Scaled Snake."
However, the young man shook his head, obviously refusing her words. "Sorry miss, but I can only attend to one task at a time. One person one task. If you want the latter task to be done, come again next time to make it official."
He added, "Now, please give me the description of this level D task."
Helpless on those cold words, the girl could only gnashed her teeth, aggravated. "Get a Riverside Red Lily for me then."
"Alright, no problem. When do you need it to be delivered?"
"Before the end of next week."
The young man nodded. "Fine. Just prepare 100 silvers as the charge when delivered. Once failed, there'll be no charge. I'll not send you off then."
The last sentence was clearly indirectly saying 'please leave now'. Then after he said those, the young man was already reading a book, totally unconcerned about her sharp gaze.
She went out with heavy footsteps and a foul mood but before she could totally leave the place, she had heard his voice again.
"Close the door please."
As if reaching her boiling point, she slammed the door real hard that flabbergasted the guy for a second. But unusually, there appeared a sweet smile on his lips. When the girl left the place, the young man laughed heartily.
...
While walking in a long and spacious hallway, a young man encountered a very familiar girl.
When she saw him, a smile appeared on her lips. She ran to him, when she caught up, she started walking in the same direction and pace as him.
"Hey, did you heard about the adventurer who wiped out Rigor's group of bandits?"
He casually nodded. "Yes. What about him?"
The girl sneered and her voice sounded upset as if she loath someone. "I guess he's so ugly. I heard he doesn't even dare show his face to anyone."
Cherom chuckled. "Don't spread false rumors Leina. That's rude of you."
"You don't believe me? Hmp, fine." She rolled her eyes.
At the very moment, she placed her hands on her back intertwined to one another, showing her cute and charming side. Her eyes were presently sparkling in a different light.
The guy sighed after noticing the change in her.
"Ah, forget about that ugly guy. Cherom, even if you are not the strongest, but you are the best chef ever!"
Cherom was fully aware of her intent. Totally knew where the conversation was going, he just sighed inwardly.
'This girl really liked to take advantage of me, here and there.'
"Now, since I praised you, make me my favorite fruit tart fast!"
Flattering, then commanding. It was just so her style, no doubt. If a day ended without this act from her, a day would be considered unusual then.
"Your praises are useless, it can't bring me money nor food. Just keep it for yourself."
"Cherom! You have to make those for me, today is just so upsetting. If I can't eat those, I might go crazy!"
Cherom couldn't help laughing seeing her reaction while she just rolled her eyes at him.
"Silly. Fine, I'll make it." He finally gave in as he felt a bit guilty.
"Please add a glass of freshly squeezed oranges too! Thank you!" Then she ran away fast before he could refuse.
'Tsk, demanding. If she's not only my sister... I might have already fed her to that hungry alligator.'
On the mansion's kitchen, while preparing the ingredients, he suddenly remembered a scenario which happened not too long ago.
'I was really surprised seeing you earlier, to think that you are my very first client. But since you had bad-mouthed me, right in my face, hence, I will ignore you for the rest of the day. If I could, then for the rest of the week.' He couldn't help but chuckle remembering her priceless reactions.
