Cherom's mouth formed an 'o' shape. "A Gargantuan Centipede, truly a surprise. I just stepped inside the inner perimeter and this one greeted me first. For the record, I didn't encountered this one before. This guy must be new in the forest."
By the looks of it, the long and gigantic centipede had heared his words. At the moment it seemed to be irritated, looking viciously to the speaking creature before it. The young man, Cherom, clearly angered the centipede causing for it to act wild and aggressive.
"Nowadays, it is rare to see such a brave and bold fine breed like you. Now, come, if you want a bite." He gestured through his index finger.
Its eyes glinted in red light, the gigantic centipede had clearly understood his words. Those eyes now have a transparent killing intent in them, declaring a death sentence. The big insect was enraged.
In the next second, it burrowed its body on the ground, making the ground tremble as it submerged deeper into it. But after a couple of seconds, it became silent. The movement underground halted.
At the moment, it was deadly silent and the potential killer, could go for the kill any moment.
The atmosphere wasn't good, yet what was pretty contrasting about it was Cherom. His face was currently painted with a smile.
The next thing happened, the big red Gargantuan Centipede appeared in front of him, towering over him. It was as if a sun was facing a rice grain. The disparity was HUGE.
"Good thing you're not a backstabber, I will not loathe you for that." He smiled.
For the record, he might be the only happy person out of all those people who were awaiting for their death.
On the other hand, the centipede awaits for nothing. It was quick, very fast even for its size. Its mouth was like a bullet, heading straight for the young man's head. Those eyes, were saying it all. It wanted to eat and silence the unsightly creature before it.
However, the show wasn't seemed to end according to the centipede's way.
"I'm sorry, but I don't want your saliva on me."
All of a sudden, before that big mouth could munch on his head, Cherom made an a upper-cut. It looked like a very simple move, not fancy and was not cool in any way. Yet, the most surprising outcome came.
The Gargantuan Centipede was blasted a hundred meters away as if a leaf who was blown by a strong wild wind. That was very unbelievable. In every aspect, the creature was supposed to win. The size, prowess, level and presence was on the boost, yet, how come? How come the outcome became pretty incomprehensible?
A full grown Gargantuan Centipede was in front of Cherom, and it felt so wronged and confused, while its eyes were slowly closing, then those were completely closed, signifying its death.
"Oh? It actually has a faint bloodline of a dragon. Thank you for delivering yourself to me. May you rest in peace."
Cherom's stomach grumbled. "Smelling the faint smell coming from its blood, make me hungry now. I guess, I will be somewhat full after a few months of near starvation." He chuckled.
Cherom chopped down a long lumber of tree and he made a big bone fire after clearing some trees. Of course, he didn't want to burn the whole forest down.
However, not only him took fancy on the meat of the gigantic centipede. There were a few huge beasts making their presence known and were approaching to his direction. His gigantic centipede barbecue was recognized as a delicacy for many sensitive noses.
Yet, Cherom was really quite peculiar, he was seemingly unruffled by such an event. Maybe after experiencing a lot of rejections, he took lesser care about his life. But the case might also be different.
What made the whole scenario interesting was when distance was cut into meters, those beasts stopped advancing. Instead, many of them looked horrified as if they have met their nemesis in their entire lifetime. A few of them have the look of reverent and respect written on their beastly faces.
If anyone was able to see this scene, he would likely be left in awe and shock. Beasts and humans were the nemesis of each other. The former eats the latter and vice-versa. The enmity between the two parties was never ending.
Although there were some who bonded with beasts such as beast tamers but most of them were just able to tame lower leveled beasts as a little intimidation can do the trick. However, beasts of these caliber whom already gained high intelligence wouldn't lower themselves to any human.
As if he just have gotten aware of their presence, Cherom stated, "Oh, hello there Big White. How are your wives? Why do you seem sad? Did they left you already?"
The white ape was a bit stunned and when it recovered, it immediately shook its white furry head.
"Really? Not yet?"
The white ape strongly strongly nodded and force a smile as if it wanted to role his eyes to the human at any second, yet restrained it.
Aside from the gigantic ape, there was also a a towering bluish tiger with black stripes meters away from him.
In the next second, it gave a low growl yet after hearing it, smaller beasts immediately head unto different directions, leaving the place in haste.
It was a humongous beast of its own specie. Its mouth was huge enough to swallow Cherom whole in any moment yet it was not aggressive at all, way different to its nature. It was even properly seated, without trying to act arrogant in the slightest as if a loyal dog to its master.
"Big Blue, did you find any new big beasts around aside from this fellow?" Cherom was talking about his barbequed centipede.
The blue tiger shook its head and looked sorry as if he was a disappointment.
"Nah, no worries. But if that's the case, it seems like I have to venture to a bigger forest soon. In the future, you'll have more buddies to bond with."
"Okay, go back to your territories now. I'm sorry but I cannot share my food to you two. This could barely make my stomach full."
The tiger and the ape felt a bit sad but then felt relieved as if thankful that they were not in any way in conflict with the young man or else they had long been skewered just like the stupid centipede.
After having an almost hearty meal, Cherom was on the move again. He was calmly walking, like he had nothing to be afraid of. He was looking confident, not a hint of worry about being lost in the vast forest. He seemed to be walking on his own backyard, as if he knew the forest like the back of his hand.
While he was walking to the innermost part of the forest, he made sure to survey every corner. With that, he was able to find another 2 hives. However, it was still not enough. He decided to continue venturing to the deepest part.
"I really need to see Berber. That big guy is all I need to finish this task before sunset. Besides, it seemed like he already harvested most of the hives in this forest. I found quite a number of hives yet, their honey were all gone."
He chuckled. "That dumbo is really into total manipulation of resources huh. I wonder what he was doing in these past few months. If he was just lazing off, I will spank that fat ass of him."
...
"How are you Berber?"
A tremendous brown bear was in front of Cherom. It had the look of excitement on its face after seeing the small figure before him. The bear's glint of excitement slowly dissipated being replaced with a courageous look as if issuing a challenge.
"Oh you wanna fight? Fine. Show me your progress. If you can hit me once, I'll consider it your win."
Receiving the words of approval, the bear waited for nothing. The massive bear charged at him head on. The ground was shaken as it strode with force and strength.
Without hesitation, Berber pounced unto the young man. The huge bear's claws were quick and full of power wanting to seize the human.
However, Cherom's expression didn't change at all. "Slow."
As the claws were coming for him, Cherom easily evaded those. It looked effortless Simple yet flawless and precise move.
"Berber, although you broke through a small scale, your speed is still a problem."
The savage bear wasn't seemed to be disappointed. It even looked fired up. In the next second, it kept on attacking him. Its left and right dreadful claws were moving in a faster rate with better precision, bombarding Cherom with a series of powerful attacks. The bear was able to anticipate were Cherom was about to dodge, yet in the nick of time, the young man was still able to keep himself safe, amazingly avoided those fearsome attacks.
"Faster Berber! You can do better than this!"
Berber's moves became more forceful and life-taking. If an attack landed even on a high level warrior, the warrior would be dead meat for sure.
But Cherom was just as fast as lightning, a fly that the big guy could hardly get on his claws.
Cherom clicked his tongue.quot;Berber hit it like this!"
Just when Berber was about to attack, a kick was hit straight on his belly.
The bear was blasted down on the ground making a huge crater. It was big enough to fit a hhundreds of people.
Climbing his way up, the bear was puking mouthful after mouthful of fresh blood. Seeing Berber defeated, his wives came to his side and comforted the wounded bear.
"Look Berber, don't trust women so much."
Hearing his starting sentence, even in a sorry state, the bear still covered his ears. It seemed like Cherom's words were even more lethal than his injury.
"As long as your stomach is satisfied, then that is life. Women are creatures with high standards. If there appeared a stronger beast in this forest, more dashing and capable than you, they will surely cling to that beast without even blinking."
The bear didn't want to listen to all of his fuss. It was shaking its head while covering its ears with its furry hands. Cherom couldn't help but chuckle.
"By the way, thank me. I just removed your supposed to be rival earlier."
The huge bear's eyes became wide. Then the big fellow sniffed on the air. In the next, second, its eyes shone with a ray of gratefulness. Then it lowered its head, making a bow, expressing its gratitude.
"Com'on, raise your head now. You're my buddy so it's natural for me to lend you a hand."
"By the way, how's the the alligator? Is it getting fat? Did you feed it right?"
The bear nodded and was acting proud at the moment placing his paw on his chest while seated on the ground.
"Did it broke through?"
The bear nodded again.
"Good job Berber, just keep it up. You know the drill."
"Before I forget. Berber, fill these jars with honey. All of it. Okay?"
Looking at the number of jars, the bear made a big gulp. There was an apparent reluctance on the big fellows already watery eyes but still, his head went up and down.
It seemed like Berber's speciality was nodding. The big brown bear was actually quite cute while doing that manner though.
