๐†๐‹๐Ž๐–๐ˆ๐๐† ๐๐‹๐”๐„ ๐„๐˜๐„๐’ met deadly violet ones.

The air was heavy with magic that even the ones fighting stopped to watch where the enormous power came from. But all they could see were two women with lethal looks.

Water surrounded its Queen, every single drop possessing the power of the Sea. She was never alone and come what may, the water and magic abide its Queen. The magic in her wasn't because of the sea - there was something inside of her that gave her the strength, the power. For a mermaid with such a powerful aura was never known, or not remembered.

The maleficis smirked, her violet eyes darkening to a black. Magic from her ancestors ran through her veins, making them glow black. Everyone could feel the death surrounding her - the terror her eyes gave away. She wasn't a maleficis - she looked like the angel of Death.

They didn't speak, didn't hesitate. With the intentions to kill, water fought the dark magic. A scorching light erupted on the collision, an explosion hitting every wolf, every rogue in the grounds. Yet the mythical women continued to throw blows of magic at each other, not a single one of them losing their ground.

Esmeray could feel the maleficis's aura fighting with her own, but that only made her push herself harder. A thick ray of light, containing magic and water erupted from her hands, her entire body. They met with the maleficis's aura.

The ground shook, the sea nearby formed angry waves.

The Queen fought the tyrant maleficis with no intention of defeat.

With every ounce of her energy, she started walking with the magic and water erupting from her hand. The maleficis tried to maintain her foothold but the Queen's power was tiring her. She was much powerful than she had expected her to be - much powerful than an ordinary mermaid.

As her magic pushed her back, the maleficis's power became weaker.

Esmeray herself didn't know where so much power came from, she was never trained with magic. All she could think about is protecting Lucian. Protecting the entire Ignis pack. They have given her shelter when she was lost - and it was her duty to repay them back.

Ben stood in the forest, his mouth open in awe. The light was too much - he couldn't see. But he had seen Esmeray's veins turn blue and glow with magic. He had seen her eyes shimmer with power.

He knew why she was here. He knew what she was.

The maleficis screamed as her magic lost and a jolt of power hit her chest. Esmeray relaxed when she saw the maleficis fall to the ground. Making the magic rest inside of her, she walked to the maleficis. She wasn't done with her - yet.

Instinct took over her. The magic controlled her body - with anger.

It was like she had used it before, multiple times. Like it was a part of her. It puzzled her, although she refused to complain about it. The feeling of the magic inside of her made her feel safe. Powerful.

Summoning her magic, she imagined the maleficis being strained by cuffs. The water droplets around her listened to her as the witch found herself being held to the ground by cuffs crafted out of water. It was strange. It was dangerous.

"Who sent you here?" Esmeray demanded.

Her power was different, it was laced with authority. The maleficis found herself almost succumbing to the order of the Queen - but she was the descendant of a Queen herself. The aura didn't work much on her.

"Someone who is going to ruin you one day, you bitch! He is going to rise, no matter what. And when he does, he would kill you first. The prophecy can't save you - nothing can save you from him," the maleficis replied.

Somewhat, it caused Esmeray to chuckle. She had no idea why this was happening to her - why she was so different. But this change, felt good.

"I need no saving, girl. He can come with whatever force he has - I will be ready for him. I am not scared of him, he should be scared of me. I can make the entire army drown in the sea, choking them into slow, painful death - only to call it a tsunami," she replies.

She commanded the water to pick up the girl into the air - and it did. It twirled around her body, grabbing every inch of her body like a rope that she can't break, and then raised her in the air.

"Fear the sea, girl. It can give you life, but it can take it away from you in the most excruciating way," she says as she makes the water bring the girl closer.

Esmeray examined her - the maleficis didn't look over eighteen. Why was such a youngling teaming up with the rogues? There was something amiss about her - something that she seemed to be hiding. Were the maleficis usually this powerful?

"Now, what is your name?" Esmeray asks.

The maleficis looked scared for a moment, but knowing that she wouldn't allow the mermaid Queen to win - she spoke up.

"Valkyrie, the descendant of Marzanna," the maleficis says.

The name clicks in her mind - but she found it hard to believe the girl's claim.

"Impossible. She died without an heir," Esmeray replies.

This caused Valkyrie to chuckle. Esmeray found nothing humorous about this situation - if what the girl claimed was true, that meant that she was a descendant of Damon as well.

"There are many things the Royals aren't aware of, mermaid. I am sure that you would know since you are one. That brings me to your mate. Have you checked upon him all these days? Wouldn't you want to know whether your mate's heart is still intact in his body or being fed upon by the siren Queen?" Valkyrie spoke.

Her words were like a dagger to her heart - she shouldn't have believed her, but the truth in her eyes couldn't be ignored. Esmeray hadn't spoke with Triton for days, much to her dismay. She hadn't felt anything through their bond - it was like it didn't exist.

"How do you know about the war under the sea?" she spoke, her teeth gritting.

Valkyrie smirked. Her innocence was long gone - replaced by a vicious, manipulative expression.

"I know many things, mermaid. The sirens aren't crafty, they don't even have a purpose in their life besides feeding on blood and meat. Who do you think swept into their minds, encouraged them to attack your little kingdom? I told you, he is coming, very soon. Step by step, he would destroy everything you love," she spat on Esmeray.

But the mermaid was distracted by the words spilling out of Valkyrie's mouth that she failed to notice the arrow aimed at her heart. Even the wolves were fighting and distracted.

Lucian attacked Killian, his entire focus on ruining the black wolf who dared to harm his pack. He couldn't comprehend the strength of the Rogue King.

They circled around, their canines soaked with their blood as well as the blood of their enemies. Their fur coated in crimson. Killian was impressed by the Alpha's strength - but the Alpha can't defeat the King.

With an unexplainable speed, Killian lunged at Lucian. Even though the Alpha tried to defend himself from the attack, Killian's sharp canines sank into his neck. An unbearable pain erupted in every cell of his body. His wolf howled in pain.

Killian removed his canines from the Alpha's skin - his work here was done. The bite was lethal, the chances of the Alpha surviving was minimal. Blood swept out of Lucian's neck as he laid down on the ground in his wolf form. He couldn't shift - it was impossible with the pain.

Mia's wolf howled across the pack ground as she felt her mate's pain. She could feel his breath getting slower.

The rogues starting retreating back, the damage they aimed for being done.

An arrow was shot through the air, aimed at the mermaid Queen.

Esmeray felt a body hit her, suddenly. She turned around, angry. Who was coward enough to dare attack her from the back?

But all she saw was her friend's body lying on the ground, an arrow in his stomach. She screamed as she sank to the ground, her hand on his wound.

"Benjamin! No!" she cried out. As her mind got distracted, the maleficis swept away from her chains. Valkyrie wanted to attack her with magic, but seeing the grief on Esmeray's face was enough for now.

She swiftly walked away from the battleground.

But the situation was too similar. Like what happened with Queen Roseline.

"Ben, don't you dare die on me," Esmeray said.

His blood was on her hand, her clothes. All she could think of was one thing, she couldn't lose Ben. With her magic, she started healing Ben. She gave his wolf the more strength to heal his wounds faster - the blood loss was too much.

But Ben's eyes were closing, his skin becoming pale.

"Kill him," Ben managed to speak, barely.

She would.
