Chapter 55 : : Joining The Caravans

At morning, Adventurer's Guild...

Kale arrived at the guild's vicinity, he saw a crowd of people gathering around the caravans. There were adventurers, the merchant as well as workers and passengers mixed together sizing up each other.

It was easy to differentiate adventurers among them, it was because of their unusual clothing, whether it was their leather boots, jacket, shirt or robe, they all looked like dresses from medieval time on Earth, it was easy to tell that these adventurers didn't belong to Imperial City region and were from the area around Carran Town near the border the Evander Kingdom.

Only people from a kingdom following Magic Civilization chose to wear such clothes. It wasn't that they couldn't trade the latest fashioned clothes from other kingdoms, but because these clothes had long become the part of their culture and hence cannot be discarded.

As for the merchant, his expensive attire told a lot about him, he was a middle-aged man with a fat body, he had long moustaches curved upwards and semi bald head. He together with an adventurer from the group was talking to Alison with a broad smile plastered on his face.

There were a total of 6 adventurers stationed around the carriages, 4 men and 2 women, they all had a blue badge with a dove imprint on their clothes, which showed that they were all from the same group.

Trusting someone in the wilderness isn't easy, that's why adventurers often form a group with their acquittance or friends while adventuring, by adventuring together they can make up for each others' mistakes and guard their back to gain assurance, they do missions together, divide the profit among themselves and their fame also spreads as a group.

Kale thought for a moment before he walked towards Alison to greet him.

Alison noticed him and stopped his conversation with the two men "Good morning, you arrived on time, neither too early nor too late. Here, meet him, he is Kale, the new passenger I told you about, and Kale this is Mr Chad, he is a merchant and as you can guess, he is also the owner of the caravans," He said while looking at the fat man.

The fat man smiled at Kale but didn't say anything, Kale too just responded with a nod. Both of them had nothing much to do with each other, moreover, Kale was just a child in his eyes.

Alison slightly favoured Kale because he could see the potential of a strong adventurer from him, he didn't reveal any of his detail to others, Adventurer's Guild usually never reveals the identity or details of their adventurer unless it is necessary.

Alison then turned to the man beside the Merchant Chad "And this is Master Stan, the leader of the famous adventurer group White Doves, you may have not heard much about it here but this group has quite some fame in the Evander Kingdom,"

Master Stan was a robust man, he had broad shoulders and a thin waist, he wore a suit of battle armour, and even though he had several scars on his body, his valiance could not be concealed. The greatsword hanging on his back showed that he was a close combatant.

Kale guessed that he was a tanker, as leaders of most groups are tanker because adventurers feel better when joining groups and teams when the one taking responsibility for their safety as a leader is a tanker, that could attract the enemies attention and attack them head-on, it assures them that they won't be used as baits during hunts.

Master Stan laughed after hearing Alison's praise "Haha... He is just mocking me, our fame is not that high, anyway, it will be a pleasure travelling with you," He said with a broad smile.

'Strong yet not arrogant, he knows how to act when being present in a crowd, a capable group leader indeed,' Kale thought inwardly, on the surface, he feigned slight anxiousness then smiled "The pleasure is all mine,"

"Don't be so polite boy, I am not a noble or something, the caravan in the middle has free space for passengers, go rest inside, we will be heading off soon enough," Master Stan said while pointing at the caravans standing on the road.

Kale nodded in agreement, then headed towards the caravan in the middle.

All the caravans were similar to the ones used on Earth for camping, in appearance, but their engine and the operating setup wasn't same, they were the hybrid vehicles that can run on electricity converted from solar energy, fuels and were light enough to be pulled by horses like carriages.

Naturally, all caravans were connected to two forces each, a total of six for three horses. The horses weren't simple either, they were high breed beasts raised to pull such caravans from the start.

The caravans might be able to work on electricity for a while but electronic devices don't work in the region around Carran Town, that's why they were bound to mostly be used like normal carriages on the journey such as this.

Kale arrived at the door, he was just about to enter the caravan when he stopped, he suddenly turned around and looked at the building in distance, the distance was so far that he couldn't see much, he slightly frowned then he turned back and entered the caravan.

The passenger space inside was similar to normal camping caravans, there were a total of four beds and a washroom at the back, two beds were already occupied, and two were empty, Kale randomly chose one and sat on it. He didn't focus much on his neighbours as his thoughts were drifting in a different direction 'Was I overthinking? No, someone was definitely eyeing me with malicious intent, but why? I made no enemy in this life, is it because of Riyan? Or someone sent by those noble brats to tail me?'

After reincarnating, Kale didn't bring his achievements, glory or previous equipment to this world, but he had the experience and knowledge from before, with his instincts that were sharpened to a very high level, sensing a malicious gaze directed at him didn't amount much.

A few seconds ago…

In the private room of a building three miles away from Adventurer's Guild, a tall man was eyeing Kale the whole time since coming to the location, when Kale was about to enter the caravan, he frowned deeply, but when he saw him reacting, the man closed the window.

'He saw me? Coincidence or a hidden skill? That aside for now…' The man took out his cell phone and dialled a number, the call rang twice before the other side picked up.

{Is this Little Garden Flower Shop?] He said.

{Yes, would you like to order flowers?} The voice of an elderly man came from the receiver.

{I would like to order, 1 yellow lily, 3 moon clover, 2 sweet cherry and 4 orchids,}

There was silence on another side of the phone for a few seconds.

{Orders regarding flowers like moon clowder needs the consent of shop owner, I will be connecting you to her, what name should I give her?}

{This is Sparrow,} The man said.

The call went on hold for a while before another person picked it up, from the voice alone, it was a woman.

{It's been a while, Sparrow, you were focusing on the trade of white rose, right? How is that Little White Rose?}

T/L: You haven't contacted for a while, you were tasked to caught that white-haired boy(Kale), right? Did you catch him?

The man was hesitant for a while but eventually, he replied.

{Little White flew away with the wind and left the garden before I could pluck it,} (Sparrow)

T/L: That boy went out with others and left the city before I could catch him.

{You can't even take care of one little flower?} The woman.

T/L: You can't even catch a young boy?

{It was too sudden, the weather was clear before, winds only blew once over the guild but the flower left in the second wave,} (Sparrow)

T/L: It happened out of nowhere, everything was going well, he only visited the Adventurer's Guild once but the next time he visited, he left the city with other people.

{Can you trace the flower and caught it now?} The woman.

T/L: Can you track the boy and caught him now?

{A Golden Flower and several Silver Weeds are flying around with Little White, the chances of catching it without attracting bees and beetles are rather low,} (Sparrow)

T/L: A Gold-rank Adventurer and several Silver-Rank Adventurers are accompanying that boy, the chances of catching him without attracting the unwanted attention of other people are rather low.

{I see, then leave the roses and switch your attention to other flowers in the garden, no mistakes should be made this time, slow but steady, do not forget there are no members with 2 mistakes in the family,} The woman said then ended the call.

T/L: I see, then leave the boy and switch to other targets in the city, do not make any mistake this time, working slowly is fine but work properly, do not forget that our organisation only allows one mistake at most.

The whole conversation didn't take more than 1 minute but the man's forehead was covered in sweat.

'Lucky brat,' He snorted and started collecting his stuff.

The start of the journey was smooth and steady, the caravans would move at daytime, stop at evening and would set camps for the night, travelling in the night is dangerous as many monster beasts come out for hunt at this time. If it was just adventurers they can still do it but when they have to also protect the three caravans behind them then the situation becomes different.

It had been four days since the merchant caravans left the city and started their journey heading towards Carran Town as their destination, Kale was now already familiar with most of the people in the travelling group but he still kept a low profile showing anti-social personality, he spent most of his time in increasing his mastery on his new spells and cultivation in the cover of curtains around his bed.

At present, it was evening, Kale was sitting cross-legged on his bed, a small glass bottle with colourless liquid was being held in his hand. It was the Body Cleansing Potion he had bought from Black Market when visiting it together with Layla.

'Let's see how effective is this Body Cleansing Potion,' Kale thought as he removed the cork of the bottle and gulped down all the potion in one go.

A cool sensation assaulted his body which was soon accompanied by intense itching, Kale as unfazed by the sensation, he focused and noticed that the origin energy circulating in his body had become much more fluent, at the same time, his body was absorbing origin energy from the surrounding at a much faster rate.

He closed his eyes and focused on cultivating, trying to absorb most of the effects of the potion and secure the opportunity to further advance his cultivation base, Kale cultivated for around 20 minutes, by the end of the session, he was frowning with his eyes closed, he could feel a shackle imprisoning him for a long time, only when he successfully broke free from it did he open his eyes and relaxed his brows.

Kale checked his status and found out that his foundation finally went from C-Grade to B-Grade after continuously grinding for 4 whole days. He took a breather, but then he felt a bad smell coming from his body sweat 'Hmm... So it also affects similar to Body Tempering Pills,'

He thought about it then took a set of clothes, stepped out from the caravan and went to the river nearby to take a bath.

The caravans followed the route closer to a riverbank for travelling, it was why they don't need to worry about water, there were also other reasons for doing that like, it is easy to hunt at the river back as many monster beasts come to drink water from the river, the chances of them getting lost decreases when the route is near the river. One has to know that there are also other intelligent monster beasts in the wilderness, they are not only capable of blocking the routes for the ambush but also making fake diversions.

Kale left his phone in the caravans as it didn't have much use inside the forest, its network was currently zero. In fact, if it was a normal phone then it would only become hard to carry it in places like Carran Town, after all, one would need electricity to charge a phone, but fortunately, Kales phone came from GHO, the concealed origin formation on it was capable of slowly absorbing origin energy from the surrounding then use it as input to run the phone.

As an overlord organisation, GHO possessed technology from all over the world, such a feat wasn't worth mentioning for them.

At the river, Kale didn't go too far, he took a dip in the water at the river bank and quickly got out of it once he finished cleaning his body, he was still a mortal, being too confident of his own ability wasn't a good thing, although this part of the river had already been checked by the adventurers but it never hurts to be more careful.

Just when he finished bathing he heard the soft sound of a bell ringing, it was meant to tell everyone that the dinner is ready. Kale finished changing his clothes and took off for the dinner.
