Charles 94 : : We Can Just Share Our Ride

Racheal and Serene had the same question as Dale but their noble womanly attitude made them remain quiet and not show their nature before knowing unknown guests.

When Enan just got in he too saw Kale's action but he didn't care, due to his priority, he was still thinking of what Kale or the one behind him might want this time.

After casually replying, Kale focused on the dining table, Fynn understandingly pulled out a chair and he sat on it, Kale completely ignored Dale as he eyed the food on the table.

Dale became furious, he was used to getting attention from everyone around him, getting ignored like that was not his thing, he was about to shout but then he noticed his father staring at him with cold eyes and the words he was about to say got stuck in his throat.

Kale acted completely oblivious to these changes, he concentrated on the soup bowl placed near Serene and hinted to her to pass it with his fingers as he spoke "This gorgeous hot lady, could you pass that bowl here,"

"Huh?" Serene was taken back by his actions, he was acting too brazen in her eyes, but she didn't lose her calm, she looked at Enan instead of taking an action herself.

Enan tapped the table using a bit of his Astral Qi, the bowl near Serene was raised in the air, seemly floating on an invisible wave and landed in front of Kale.

"Know your limits," He said in a heavy tone.

Kale chuckled at his words "Why so serious? I only asked to pass the bowl, you are acting as I asked for your wife instead,"

Enan's expression turned dark "Youu!"

Yellowish-Orange Astral Qi gushed out of his Origin Chasm and covered his whole body while flickering like an intense flame.

Fynn and Elza reacted, both of them moved between Enan and Kale ready to intercept.

They both knew that they won't be able to do much in front of Tier 4 in their current condition but they also knew that if they did nothing, Kale would surely remember it for the future.

Racheal and Dale were also surprised, Kale's words were completely out of their expectations, he was basically courting death in their eyes.

Unlike all of them, Kale was completely calm, he flipped his plate and started filling it with flavoured bread, barbequed steak, meatballs and other beverages, he seemed like the current development had nothing to do with him.

'This brat, why is he always so calm?' Enan screamed inside. He took a deep breath and the Astral Qi around his body disappeared without a trace, his expression became much calmer.

His display just now was to check Kale's reaction, he wanted to estimate his resolve so that he can negotiate better when Kale put up his request this time, he, of course, would never think that Kale just came for lunch and will let everything pass if he really knows about the Nura Clan.

'As expected, even as an early Tier 4, he doesn't have much flame left, his temperament is not that of a veteran, the luxurious life here has gotten him rusty,' Kale thought, it went without saying that his words from before were just meant to test him, he too was thinking of the negotiations up ahead.

Enan walked past them and took a seat at the left end of the table, he then looked at Serena and his two children, he waved his hand at them saying "You three, go back to your rooms for now,"

Serene was somewhat stunned, she knew Enan was not short-sighted like Dale and wasn't head over heels for her, but she was still sure that after he said such words to her, Kale would still suffer great torment if not die unless he was a higher rank noble but his clothing of an adventurer told a different tale.

She was confused and didn't know what to do but then she felt Enan staring at them, she made a quick decision, Serene stood up from her seat, briefly looked at Kale then slightly bowed "I will take my leave for now,"

Kale faintly smiled.

Even though she didn't know Kale's identity, she surely knew how to change her ways of treating others depending on their status.

'Bitch,' Dale muttered under his breath as he stood up and left the room with Racheal who didn't even bother to think much about it.

"Now let's talk, say what did you come for?" Enan said in a heavy tone as he picked up an empty glass and filled it with wine.

"Hmm... Let's say, you should have hired a better assassin group than Nura Clan, a Tier 4 Assassin followed by a bunch of retards to kill me, and I wouldn't be here wasting both of our time," Kale said once he finished eating the food in the mouth and then gobbled another meatball and started chewing on it.

'It's not the best, but still, having the cooked meat after all these years is very refreshing, this tender texture of meat that came from roasting on low flame and the sauce carrying a touch of seasoned spices... Delicious,' Kale thought.

"Humph, they say that incomplete information is worse than having no information, I did hire Nura Clan, but not for killing you, it was just for investigating your background a little," Enan said. He didn't want to believe that Kale with the two Tier 3 Martial Artist behind him took care of Nura Clan, according to him, his information leaked and that's why Kale and others came here so he was just trying to lower the price of what Kale may ask, for now.

"Hahaha... Incomplete information is worse than having no information? Indeed, let me show you an example, look carefully at these three women," Kale said while laughing as he pointed at Elza, Xaxa and Zalie.

Enan felt something wrong, he still asked "What about them?"

"These three are the ex-members of the group you sent to kill me, they surrendered once their leader Mikol was slain, and who wouldn't want three beauties following them around, so I took them in," Kale said with a smirk.

Enan's eyes widened, he looked at Elza and others again but was not sure if he should believe it.

"Still doubting me?" Kale said. He then waved his hand, suddenly a black cloak appeared out of nowhere and fell on the floor.

Enan was surprised, he looked carefully at Kale's fingers and noticed a black stone like ring with tiny inscriptions on it.

'Space ring?' He thought.

After killing Mikol and other adventurers, Kale and Ajin would off course won't bury their equipment with them. One of the most precious equipments of them was obviously the Tier 3 Space Ring with 3 cubic meters dimensional space inside, worn by Mikol before.

Kale had Tanya as a hostage so he had more saying, he naturally took many precious things he wanted, only leaving others to not carry much weight on him.

Enan was a little surprised because even a fairly good Tier 3 Practitioner might not have Space Rings, their production methods were secret and not everyone knew about them.

There were also Space Rings sold in Academy's shops but the prices were not something newbies like Kale could afford easily.

Enan then looked at the familiar black cloak that fell on the ground, it was torn, dirty and had bloodstains on it but still carried the faint energy traces of Tier 4, it took only a few seconds for him to understand the familiarity of the cloak.

He secretly gasped on recognizing the cloak, it was Mikol's cloak, the cloak he always wore when moving around, that's why Enan recognized it.

Enan looked at Kale again and thought 'This guy, no wonder he was so confident, there is at least a hidden Tier 4 behind him, or there is no way a Tier 4 Assassin like him could be killed by this boy. The reason he is so confident is because of the backing of that hidden expert,'

Enan kept quiet for several minutes while Kale leisurely enjoyed his meal "It was a misunderstanding, Nura Clan was too sure about their ability and resorted to killing you instead of just investigating you, but I accept my fault, I 'm willing to pay the price for it, how about I give you a Tier 3 armour and 5,000 Gold right now as an apology,"

Kale stopped eating and stared at him, he then started laughing "Haha old man, do you think my life only worth that much? Do you forget that few words from me can get you executed, your family will lose its nobility and your wife will likely find a new husband?"

Every single one of his words felt like naked slaps to Enan, but he still gritted his teeth and suppressed the anger inside "Then what do you want?"

"Let's see, for starters how about a Ter 4 Equipment based on healing or regeneration?" Kale said with a pondering look.

"Nonsense, do you think I'm an Earl or Viscount? That type of equipment are already rare and with Tier 4 Grade, even they might not have it," Enan refuted without a second thought.

"Hmm..." Kale started thinking, he never expected Enan to have them either, he just said it so that when he mentions something of smaller value next, Enan will be more inclined to agree on it.

"Then give me one of Tier 3 at least," Kale said. He then noticed Enan was about to refuse again so he added "If you can't even afford such a thing, then let you girl marry my brother like man here, I don't mind becoming an indirect relative of Noble you see," Kale said with a smirk on his face as he added another meat steak in his plate.

Fynn was taken back in the moment, he looked around confirming that he was the only other male in Kale's party except him, he then thought about Racheal from a while ago who didn't bother looking at them for more than a minute and felt weird.

Elza gave him a pitiful look then a thought came to her mind 'This bastard can marry off his closest man so casually, if not for the contract he might even get us married, I need to be more careful, he is the type who will only keep others close when they are useful,'

Enan was also taken back by the statement "It's impossible!"

"Why?" Kale said.

"Don't make such an imaginary joke, he is not even a noble," Enan said.

"I see, then let's give that Bandit's dealing records book to Adventurer's Guild, once you get caught and your Nobility gets taken away by Royal Family, your daughter will no longer be noble... But there would be no use of the marriage then, you know," Kale said in a slightly sarcastic tone.

Enan had the urge to strangle him at the moment, but he knew the consequences so he kept his calm "I don't have Tier 3 Healing equipment but have similar things in Tier 2 category, I can use numbers to make up for it,"

"Good Good, then next is, let my small team borrow some equipment suitable for them from your inventory, I hope you don't mind, after all, we are just borrowing," Kale said with a sly smile on his face.

Enan narrowed his eyes, he expected such a request already but was confused as to why he asked it secondly, suddenly he came to a realization, it was due to the chances of him agreeing. If Kale asked for it first then he might have agreed for it but not for the second request which was for healing equipment that easily.

He might have just said, I don't have it and Kale would need to compromise because his first condition would have already been fulfilled.

'This swindler, he is definitely older than his appearance,' Enan thought, like before, he was ready to negotiate and try to decrease the price but Kale continued.

"And the third last thing I want is, a safe ride to Fallen Unicorn City," Kale said.

Enan stopped from what he was going to say ''Is he leaving? Good, but wait... Fallen Unicorn City, don't tell me, he too is going there, as for the reason, what else could it be at this time other than that competition, he also knows the importance of that this time? His information network is fast as mine.

Wait, Dale will be going there too, if he gets dissatisfied now, he can make trouble for him later on,'

Enan thought about it and decided to drop his idea of decreasing the price "It's hard... But to show my sincerity towards you, I agree. I will hire a strong adventurer group to assist you on your way to the city and..."

Enan was still saying but Kale waved his hand motioning him to stop and spoke "No need to put so many efforts, I heard Dale will also be heading there in three days, we people are not picky people so you don't need to hire a different one, we can just share our ride,"

Kale said with a kind smile on his face.

Enan was completely stunned.
