"So what do you want to eat ? "
Stella asked Sera, who was looking at her with twinkling eyes..
" something sweet!"
she replied
"but are you gonna cook?" She seemed puzzled at the sight of Stella holding a whisk.
"Of course I am!"
"You know how to cook?"
Sera's eyes were wide open in surprise?
"don't you belittle me"
Stella gave her a smile.
"Don't do that or I will fall for you rather than your brother. Seriously how can you be so pretty when you are a girl and a boy, that's not fair" she said while pouting .
"How about pancakes?"
"Sure, but can I help?"
"Yeah..."
In just a few moments the kitchen was filled with a sweet smell of pancakes, both of their stomachs rumbled at the sight of their creation.
"Now what are we waiting for, let's dig in,"
Sera took the first bite and soon her eyes had a glow.
"It's so good...!!"
"Glad you like it..."
In just a few moments Sera had her plates sweeping clean. And the she was hungrily eyeing Stella's plate.
"Don't even think about it,"
Stella understood the hungry gaze.
"So when are you planning to leave..."
Stella spoke as she took a bite of her food, But she noticed something in her expression..
"Don't tell me you have decided to stay"
"Can I stay?" She said with puppy eyes.
"No I don't want to die at your father's hands"
Stella replied quickly.
"Ok...but can I visit you ...and these pancakes ...and my future husband...and my future family more often"
She shamelessly spoke of her demands.
"Do whatever you want"
"Yes!!!..."
Stella finished up her food and took the plates to the kitchen. Then she rustled through the ingredients and grabbed some flour and eggs.
"What are you doing"
Sera followed her like a puppy, still plate in her hand and a spoon in her mouth.
"Are you always like this, I mean do you always act like a puppy"
Stella asked because she really felt odd and somewhat curious at her friendly attitude. Because ethe way she was portrayed in the book was the polar opposite of this.
"I don't have friend with whom I can act this way, they are just scared of me Because of my father so I have to act cold in fronted them"she said with a sad face.
Her expression really felt real and Stella felt sorry for her because just like her Sera too was slandered by the book writer, and was left alone in this world. Stella decided to change the topic.
"I am baking cookies Al likes them a lot..wanna learn?"
Just when she heard the name Al, her sad eyes lit up and she happily nodded her head.
"Yes anything for my hubby" she smiled.
........
"Haah!!!.....(sigh)"
"I never knew baking would be this trying..."
Sera threw her body on the couch and took a deep breath.
"It's not..."
"But why are there so many of them? They could last an eternity!!!..."
The kitchen table was loaded with chocolate chip cookies. And it was all because of Sera who kept on making them just to perfect the art of cookie baking, and win Al's heart.
"Don't panic, just give them to the servant!.."
Sera said with a tired voice...
"Sigh..."
Stella too threw her body on the couch and they lAy down their staring at the cookies, and now even staring at them water to make them puke.
"Hey Sera...I think you should be leaving now!" (Tired voice)
"Are you trying to kick me out,"
"Yes..."
"You are such a nasty person, I hate you..."
"Glad to hear that.."
"I will call the driver, he will pick you up.."
"No please don't do that, can't I just stay..."
"Absolutely not,"
(Baam..Cling.... clong...)
"What's that?"
"It sounds like someone is moving furniture...I think somebody is moving up into your neighbor hood"
Sera replied lazily to Stella's question when they heard the loud sound coming from outside the balcony.
"Neighbors...no way...rich people would never live in a place so far away from the city..."
"Let me check it for you then.
Sera sprang up from the couch and dashed over to the balcony, she swayed her body like a flag through the balcony and stared at a bunch of guys dragging some sofa's.
"Steevy Sweety, guess what I was right you do have neighbors..."
"That's new.."
It's been many years since this community was abandoned by the rich as it was way too far away from all the action going on in the city, they only visited here for vacations, but when Stella saw the huge trucks m she knew they were here for permanent residences.
"Hope they are not here to cause trouble.."
Stella mumbled because she had a feeling that this was not something that simple.
Stella was deep in her thoughts when suddenly she realised Sera hanging through the balcony.
"Hey get down you are making me lose face!..."
"Haah! Which face, the beautiful Stella or the handsome Steve..."
She stared laughing on her useless joke for no reason.
"I have an idea, how about we give them the cookies we made!"
"Hmm....Ok I will do that after you leave"
Stella said that with not hearing her idea and just planning on sending her away for good.
"How can you do that to your only girlfriend " she started acting.
"Ok enough with your acting the car is waiting for you so....bye"
"Okay I am going,"
Stella was finally successful in sending Sera away, and on her way back her eyes fell on the pile of Cookies.
"Sigh...okay lets do it like she said..."
Stella packed them into boxes and took them with her.
(Stella is still wearing men's clothing)
He crossed the road and saw the movers sweating in the sun, the work they were doing was really tedious so she thought of giving a few boxes them.
"Here!....have this"
Steve called out one of them who was a old as compared to the other.
"And give this to me, I will take it in.."
The box the old guy was holding looked heavy so Steve helped him out..
"Thank you young man,"
He smiled happily at Steve.
"So were do you want me to take it?"
"There just put it by the front door"
"Sure,"
Steve walked over to the door and placed it on the ground, the door was partially closed so he knocked on it.
Knock...knock...knock
"Wait I will talk to you later, there is someone on the door ...bye.."
"Yes who..."
There was a guy who opens the door, and suddenly he froze in his place when he saw Steve's face,
"You?..."
'Don't tell me it's him, is this world so small that a person I was sure I would never see again, magically spawned into the house next to me,'
The guy from the party who hugged Stella was standing in front of her with a shocked expression.
"Ahmm—Here is your box-and this—it's for you"
Stella tried to control her expression and not disclose the secrets the had been keeping for a while.
"Have we met before?..." with an unsure voice he asked.
"Probably not..well then" Steve gave a small nod and walked away, controlling his shocked expression.
