“What is she going to do in there, is this her hiking spot? Not much to look at” he said, camera still trained forward. Unfortunately, she left the door open and it’s time for her to give in.” he continued as he crept towards the door. Every time Lily and Xavier enter a room, Mat only saw Lily so he thought that she was alone, so he pressed onward. They unknowingly led him to the room where they found the book of incantations, at this time of the day it was dark enough that he could only see Lily in the room. He could hear her talking with someone he couldn’t see and thought that she was going insane then out of nowhere he decided that he would confront Lily, camera still raised “Hey, Lily what’s with you this couple of -” he was cut by the sight he was seeing through his phone. Beside Lily he saw the dark massive horned creature beside him, Lily and Xavier’s eyes widen as they their cover was blown. “What-what the hell?” Mat said. Xavier grunted in anger and slowly strode towards him but Lily interjected by standing between them. “Mat, I can explain this.” then she noticed that he was hold his phone registering that he was recording the whole thing. “Mat, is your phone recording? Turn that off and give me your phone now”. she said while she was blocking Xavier who was still attempting to advance on Mat. “I found it; I found the monster that kill the thing in the woods” Mat said stuttering. “WHO ARE YOU CALLING MONSTER?!??!!?” Xavier roared in anger clearly offended by the term. Mat took several steps back then quickly bolted out of the mansion closing the door. He ran so fast that by the time Xavier manage to come out of the door, Mat was nowhere to be found. “Damn it, he got away. If I ever get my claws on that” his sentence was cut by Lily “Forget about him, we need to finish the incantation so he has no more proof anymore.” Lily said pushing him inside the mansion. “Fine, let’s do it tomorrow then. It’s already dark out.” Xavier said calming down. Lily immediately stopped and grabbed her phone from her pocket, tomorrow was work day already. They were so caught in their quest, Lily forgot to check the date. She gave herself a big slap to the forehead while she groaned, “Damn it, we were so close” she yelled stomping her boots. “I can still wait it out for one more week. Let me show you something, put the items on the floor.” Lily did what she was told and placed the items on the floor in front of Xavier then he manifested a tentacle and he made a circular motion around the items. Lily looked at what he was doing with a confused face, then a few moments later a black hollow sphere which resembles a bubble that incased the ritual items inside. Lily’s confused look became more visible as she looked at Xavier “A bubble? You made a bubble Xavier?” she said sarcastically. Xavier returned with a smirk and told her that it wasn’t just a “bubble”, he replaced the tentacle with an almost regular arm but had sharp ends on its fingers and elbow. He grabbed the it and held it in front of Lily, “This my gorgeous companion is a time bubble. Anything you put in it separate it from the laws of time.” Xavier said still smirking. Lily clapped slowly but hid her amazement so it would not to his ego. “Impressive, how’d you learn that?” Xavier made a gesture like he was shrugging his shoulders, “Don’t know, I was just playing with a squirrel that went it inside the window. I just a tentacle and played chase as I made him run in circles, I started to notice a trail of shadow coming of our it then PUFF, the little runt was suspended in mid-air. I thought I killed it or something but I quickly jammed a sharp finger into it and I but popped off, the squirrel was moving again.” he explained. “Cool, enjoy it while it last though, we still need to perform the ritual to make you human again so Mat won’t hunt you anymore.” Lily said while she packed her thing. “I’ll leave that with you this time so I won’t forget it.” Xavier simply nodded and watched Lily head out of the mansion.
Mat was out of the forest at this point but was still blindly running ang panting his lungs out. While he ran, he dialed this partner on the phone saying and screaming at him that he found what they were looking for. “What? How did you find it so damn fast?” George said. “I told you I have ways Georgie old friend.” Mat said while panting. He continued talking to George about the creature and it was with Lily the whole time. While pacing and walking around the sidewalk trying to plan a strategy to capture the beast, George suggested to recruit some guys in the town so the job would be easy and they could use the extra muscle. While George was still discussing the plan, Mat found himself in front of an opened pub. “Hold on Georgie, I’m going to call you back.” he said before ending the call. He opened the door and went inside, there were a handful of men were still inside mostly stereotypical drunk guys you see in the movies. Three of them were play pool on the left side of the pub while the other three were at the other said drinking beer. Mat called out to the men, trying to get their attention and offering them some quick cash. The men immediately stopped what they were initially doing and looked at each other before slowly approaching him. “I’m offering you guys a job, a big one but I kinda need some extra muscle and you guys fit the bill.” Mat said. The guy with a tattoo covering his right arm spoke first “What kind of job are we talking about here.” Mat smirked and started to walk pass through the men “A simple “grab’em and go kind of job. Are you guys in?” The one with a scar on his eye spoke next “Depends on the thing being bagged. A deer? A bear? Get to the point chief.” he said gruffly. Mat opened his phone went to his gallery and show the men the photo of the dead Wendigo corpse, their mouth dropped. They couldn’t believe their eyes “Gentlemen, are you familiar in your towns urban legends? Well, I found one of yours recently.” Mat said. All the men’s eyes were locked ad the photo staring with absolute disbelief. “I know what are thinking. How in God’s green Earth could something like that exist in this world or better yet, what freaking monster could killed something like that?” he said still smirking and continued “Fortunately for you, I have the answer to that as well”.
