First Day

I found my locker beside the exquisite gold locker. "You found my locker." Astrid appeared from nowhere. "Ay!" that made me startled. "Stop appearing suddenly, it made me startled." she chuckled.

"I'm sorry about that." she opened her locker. Michelle and Chloe lend me their knee and elbow protector. I looked at them confused. "Why are you giving me these?" I asked. They looked at each other. "You aren't pro in fighting in the field, aren't you?"

I smiled inwardly, should I surprise them? I shook my hand pretending that I couldn't fight in the field. I take the protective pads. "I will put these in my body after I change my clothes." I said and take the clothes that Astrid lend to me.

I hope that all the things that I've learn from Mama is useful. I finish changing my clothes and leave the changing room. "Where are your rubber shoes?" I checked my feet and I just realized I left it on the dorm.

I give them an awkward smile. "You're indeed the newest and would be the youngest among us." I'm the unluckiest for this day, I thought. "Here. Take these shoes for now." it's a color white sports shoes that uses during the running competition. I take the shoes. "Thank you. I'll give these back to you after these."

"Come on. Sir Mason is waiting in the arena." Arena? Arena for what? Isn't that the arenas for concerts or something. "Can I ask?" they turned to me. They nodded but they pulled me. "Yes, but for now save your question because we will not going to get punished on our first day!" they carry me.

"Yah!" I squeak. They laugh and continue to run faster. This creatures will be the death of me. When we arrived at the Roman or Greek style Arena— so, this what they're talking about?! My eyes drooled all over the place.

It was a huge place and there is a massive scale of students who are entering the fighting arena. "I don't want to enter." I'm afraid that they bite me. They looked at me, confuse. "Why? Don't you have any arena in human world?" Astrid asked.

"They do have but it's in the other country." I almost jumped off in my place when a guy with silver hair appeared from their back. "Stop startling our latest friend!" Michelle said.

I looked at them. Latest friend? Do they have an ex-friend or something and I'm still not letting my guard down. "It's been sixteen years since we lost that friend." that is sad but I felt the pain of longing.

"I'm sorry." I apologize to them. "Don't mention it." Astrid smiled and looked at the guy from her back. "By the way this is Jake our werewolf friend." he held his hand out for a shake hands. I smiled and taook his hand. "I'm Selene, nice to meet you."

"Let's go inside." and the anxiousness and scaredy-cat is back. I shake my head. "She don't want to go inside because she's afraid." Chloe said. I stepped backward and saw a bunch of students glaring at me including Elena because she's with them.

Some of their eyes turned into crimson red and their fangs elongated. I stepped back again and distnace myself from Astrid. "Don't run away..." she glared at them and they run like a scared dog. "They're not going to bite you." she smiled at me.

"They are a lot of them."

"We can take them down."

"Don't!" I stopped them when she attempt to go inside. "Don't hurt them." I said. Chloe held my hand. "They're not going to hurt you. We will be on your side for this day but on the next day we won't be with you unless you don't have any class." she said and in an instant we're inside the fighting arena.

It's classic and beautiful. "You didn't step back this time, huh." Chloe joked. I smiled. "I'm just afraid because your strength are doubled than the ordinary people like me." I replied. She pulled me on the resting bench that is on the side of the arena.

"You need to learn a lot in just two weeks because you have an evaluation for the normal class on the 15th day of this month." my eyes widen and get nervous. "I might not pass because I'm just new here and I still don't have any knowledege—"

"You don't have to worry about it. We will help you in all we can."

"Thank you."

"No worries. You will learn a lot in just two weeks."

All of the students gather around when the man in his mid 30's arrive and looked at them without any expression. "Good Evening, everyone!" he greeted. I looked at them and observed. "What about you miss, seating on the bench?" his gazed directed to me.

I stood up. "I don't know anything, so I'm still observing sir." I answered. "You're the freshman from human world?" he asked me. I nodded and show him my necklace. "Okay, you may seated and watch on how am I going to train them except for these creatures." he pointed at the Astrid's group.

I chuckled when the girls pouted. "Sir, you still need to train us!" a girl with sapphire colored hair reacted.

"I agree."

"Sir Mason is a bias!"

"We need him to include us in his training!"

He eyed on them. "Do you still need to be trained?" his brows raised. They all nodded. I bet they're closed with him. "You know, you should help trained the freshman I think ya'll gonna be helpful." they face their backs from Sir Mason and minding their own businesses.

"Observe us or let them help you to train." they pointed them. I shook my head. "I'm fine with these set up. I think I will cope up within a week of observing." I replied. "You have three days to observe and you will be having a combat session on weekend to ready you for evaluation since this is your first." he said.

I sighed and nodded. Actually, I don't have any problem on the combat training but I want to observe them first to learn on how they will attack and defense. I want to see how they will train their senses. "You've got a special treatment, huh." I heard someone beside me.

"I'm not."

"Yes, you are getting it by not joining them."

"I'm not and this is my first time here so how will I know the process of their training here."

"Why? Did you already train in human world?" I shake my head. "No. I just want to know if it's gonna be good for me or not because the least that I can do is to make myself miserable and I don't like to torture myself." this is an excuse for me but he's right that I already trained.

"Then join them."

"I'm still on my observation state because whatever happens today or the next two days it might brutal or not I think I'm gonna die early in mental torture." I watched Sir Mason trained them. This wasn't Mama teach me but it's almost the same but he starts in hightening their senses.

"You're trusting my friends easily." he opened another topic when we fell in a minute of silence. "No. I'm not trusting anyone." I replied. I just watched everyone to train around and the Regium are just fooling around playing each others while the others are minding their business.

"Then why did you be friended them?"

"I meet them at the plaza earlier for some circumstances."

"Oh! You just got bully before you reach here, aren't you?"

I looked at him. "How do you know?" he pointed at Elena. "She's the notorious bully in this campus that even us can't stop her from doing those things—"

"because she's a stubborn brat and she just know is bullying someone because she my lack of something inside her house or she's jealous." he chuckled. "You know what, welcome to the Regium. You're fearless as I expected like the ladies in Regium."

"Creatures in Regium is for the high ranking." I correct him. "No. Regium is for the creature or person who deserves the seats and I'm sorry about earlier." I smiled hearing his apology. "Thank you for apologizing." he smiled. He's not bad at all. He should smiled often. "You should smile often, it looks good in you." I added.

His smile fade and his gazed turned into cold again. "I just complimented you. You're unbelievable." I shake my head. "Yeah, I know right!" he winked at me. I looked at everyone and they glared at me.

"Stop glaring and mind your own business!" Mr. Mason with his authoratative voice made me jumped. "Sir Mason is one of the hell greatest trainor alongside with Ms. Daniela." Daniela? Who is she? Maybe, I'm wrong who he is describing.

"Daniela? Who is that?"

"Oh! The love of Mr. Mason."

I nodded and continue to observe them. My eyes glued to Regium and I saw that they turn into serious and hell they've just got what Mama taught me in combo. It's amazing! My smile widen but it faded. "You want to train with us?" he asked me.

"Before you answered, I'm Ash and you?"

"I'm Selene. Fancy meeting you in a wrong time."

We both chuckled. "I don't think I can train with the Advance Class." he sighed. "We can teach you and you can train with us if you pass the combat evaluation." I smiled. "No, thanks. I might die in frustration."

I looked at their group and it seems like they we're in a real battle. "Ash, your partner is Victor!" Astrid shout. He sighed. "Again?!" he shouts. He stood up and run back with his special ability to them.

I shake my head. I watch them trained and how they trained the freshman. It's amazing on how Mr. Mason handled his students. "You're amazed." I heard Mr. Mason's voice beside me. I turned my gazed beside me and he's sitting there. "It's really amazing that they were trained already."

"But they're not developed unlike the Regium in this Academy who spent their lives trained with their specialties." he turned his head to the Regium. "Then why do they need to be here?" I asked him.

"They're still developing and discovering to mold themselves as a warrior and leader of their own races in the Council." he said. "Come on, you need to be trained and after they execute the part of combat training that I teach them everyone will have their combat session for today because all of you will be watching them."

I nodded and joined the freshman. I sat on the back and listened to Mr. Mason and he blind folded everyone including me. "I want you to heightened your senses and focus on the direction of the place when your partner confused you!" he said.

"Yes Sir." he assigned us our partners and my eyes automatically rolled when I got partnered with Elena. I looked at Astrid's placed their lips lifted and stopped on their training and walked to our place.

This is not gonna be good. I breath out and relaxed myself and pay attention. There is a lot of us but we're last on the first batch so, I guess this wasn't bad after all.

We're 20 pairs that makes us 40 and almost half of the pairs didn't passed this activity. "For the last pair for today's batch will be Elena and Selene!" I stood up and looked at Elena seriously.

He explained to us the reason why we're on pairs. We will be evaluate individually but we will do it in pairs. So in conclusion we will be graded individually based on the performance.

They start on me. Sir Mason blindfolded me and I breathe first and start focusing. Elena is really fast that anyone can deceive. "Now, tell us where is Elena?" I checked the presence and focus on my sense of hearing, carefully.

"She's on my back 5 meter distance." I answered. I didn't heard anything and stay focus. I heard a move of the feet. "So, tell me where is your attacker." I can feel the breathe in front of me and this isn't Elena.

"This is not Elena. Don't decieve me." I answer. "So, who do you think is in front of you?" Sr. Mason asked. "It's Ash." I removed my blindfold and I was correct.

I smiled but everyone is silence even Ash who looks surprise. I looked around and their jaw was dropped but Elena is glaring at me. Ash clapped and everyone followed when the scene just sinked into them.

"That's amazing!" Sr. Mason complimented. "Don't get too full of yourself." Elena whispered in angry voice. What did I do? I looked at the guys who is just watching me and they smiled.

'You can do it!' the girls mouthed. I smiled and faced Elena who just blindfolded by Victor. I stand in front of Elena. Mama use this technique to me. Everyone fell into silence.

I breath out and start to use the technique. I scratch my feet to make a sound and step backward and began to make a sound which is I run in circles to make her confuse but I stopped without making a sound.

I looke at them and Mr. Mason who is grinning like they know the game thst I played but it's not a game. "Where is Selene?"

"She's on the back 5km long." my brows raised. Did she just pretend or she's just dumb? "Are you sure?" they asked. She nodded and I make another round of circles before settling on the position that I want.

"Now, where is your attacker? You need to make sure!" I looked at them. "She's on the left side near my body." she answered.

"Remove your blindfold now." I wave at her because she got it all wrong. "As observing all of the batch for today I think you should practice more except our freshman here who pretend that she didn't trained the process." I smirk.

"You think you're cool? You messed up my focus because of you I didn't passed!" she pulled my hair and I didn't get any chance to get a hold of her because she's way more stronger than me.

"Stop it!"

"Elena stop this craziness!"

"My god! Thi is just her first day and you're bull—"

She pulled my hair and give me a few punches before I get my chance on pinning her on the ground. I kicked her stomach and twisted her arm that pulling my hair. She lose a the grip on my hair and I pinned her on the ground.

"You're testing my patience, huh." I whispered before punching her back which made her cough. "You're the daughter of the council? That title of yours won't made me kneel down and afraid of you just because you can bully. This is just my first day and your making it a big deal."

"I can punch you on the neck using the silver that I have on my pocket but I don't think that will hurt you because you can heal faster." when she resist I pinned her more on the ground.

"You bitch!"

"No, You stubborn bitch! You're testing my patience." I gritted my teeth. Someone pulled me when she got the chance she pulled my necklace and the Regium immediately surrounded me because the other students have their fangs elongated and their eyes become bloody red.

Elena's eyes widen. "Bring Selene to her room! Elena calm the student buddy and come to the Head Mistress' office!" he shook his head. They run and the witches chanted something and we arrived in my dorm.

"That freak!" Astrid is clenching her fist while the boys are sitting a part from me. "She didn't think what will happened to you!" she added. Chloe wear a necklace to my neck ang chant something.

"This necklace will protect you and your blood." she looked at Ash who looked tempted to drink. "You own that blood. The sweet scent of blood is yours..." he whispered.

"Stop yourself!" Victor and Jake stopped him from coming to me. "Check the fridge maybe she have a blood stock." a girl in Sapphire colored hair said. "We're sorry that this is already happening to you." she walked in sit in front of me.

I smiled. "It's fine. Thank you for helping me out there." sagot ko. "I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Nicole, Nic for short." she smiled. "We can asked that you transferred in our section."

I shake my head. "No. Let me strive on my own." I rejected her offer. "Nic have a right suggestion." Michelle said. I shake my head. "As long as I can strive my way up to your positions, I will do it." I rejected again.

"But your safety—"

I smiled. "Don't worry about me. I want to experience that the freshman thing but exclude the bullying part." I chuckled. They smiled and we just talk about random things that made my dorm disturbing and loud.

"You know spending this time with you is nice because this is the first time that we gather together without any occasions." Ice said. I'm grateful that I met them. "But we know to that I wasn't easy to trust us since you just have met us."

"Why so sudden?" Uno asked and looked at us with tearful eyes. We shake our heads. "Here we go again..." Astrid whispered that made me laugh. "Hey! I heard that." he reacted.

We laugh. "How about you? You don't have any stories to tell?" Jake asked me. They all nodded. Do I have a story to tell? "I don't have but I can tell you that before I entered here something happened to me on the road..."

I start telling them what happened to me except the reason why did I leave. "Can you describe what is their looked?" Chloe offer her hand and I take it. "She encountered earlier a rogue vampire." they looked at each other before looking at me.

"Why did they chase you?" Nic asked. I shurgged. "I don't know." I answered her. "It really fast and they are chasing me like they sre some kind of maniac or frenzy who would killed or eat me alive." I answered.

They sighed. "The school bus saved her ass." Astrid smiled. "And thanks to that we met." she added. I chuckled and thanked them for saving me a lot of times today.

I check the time and it's almost dawn. "You should rest now. It's already dawn." Victor said. I smiled and nodded. I drop them off outside my dorm room. "Thank you for staying with me." I thanked them.

"It's nothing and Mr. Mason send a message to us that you'll be part of the advance class since they didn't see it coming when you pinned Elena on the ground and you already made a potion." Bryan smiled.

My eyes widen. "I should stay in Normal Class." I said. They looked at me, confuse. "Why?" they asked in unison. "Like I said I want to feel what the freshman here really feels like I don't like to be the center of attraction and I still need to learn a lot."

"Maybe... After a year? You can join us."

"Let's see if I will improved and passed the quarterly evaluation and weekly test." I answered.

They nodded and vanished into thin air. I closed the door and run back to my bed. "My first day sucks and at the same time relief." I whispered. I looked at the ceiling and count a lot before I drowned myself to sleep
