“Daddy.” She said, crying as she finished reading his letter. “So, my dad had always intended on sending you to follow me, and you had already planned on following me as well.” She asked Ethan.
“Yes, exactly.” He told her, matter-of-factly.
“Why?” She asked him.
“Why what?”
“Why did you plan on following me?”
What do you mean why?” He sounded incredulous at her words. “Like I told you when I found out you were leaving, I didn’t want to see you go, I didn’t want to lose you, not again. I couldn’t stand it if you weren’t in my life again, I just got you back.” He said, sounding desperate. “Are you going to demand I leave you now, tell me to go back to the village?”
“Would you do it even if I did demand it?” She asked.
“Hell no.”
“Then why would I bother? Besides, I don’t want you to leave.” Ethan smiled at her words. “Besides, when those creeps had me in my tent, the person I wished was here to save me was you.”
