While they talked, they had moved steadily toward the caves, before long they were moving inside, and into darkness. Braelyn was not afraid of the dark, but she felt apprehensive about entering this pitch-black opening. She need not have worried though, as soon as they moved past the immediate opening and into the cavern beyond, an intricate webbing of white lights filled the space. It looked like the lights were embedded into the walls themselves.
“We must follow the path to the left first.” Asa told them. He then began to lead them down a confusing maze of caves. They went left, right, left, left, right, right, right, left, right, left, left.
“Why are there so many tunnels and turns?” Ethan asked Asa.
“This is for our safety. If an enemy were to make their way into our caverns, then they would likely be lost long before finding anyone else.”
“That is a pretty good idea.” Braelyn told him.
“Indeed.” Asa said.
