Braelyn and Ethan were seated at the head of the table, one on either side of Janesh. Asa was seated on Braelyn’s right side and stared at her occasionally. Nova was happily running all around the cavernous space chasing and being chased by the several children playing in the area, the children found Nova exciting.
They were served roasted meats and vegetables. Their drinks were cold with ice floating inside. The multitude of the variety spread before them made Braelyn and Ethan eye the food longingly before it was even time to dig in. Every bite of the food was extremely tender and so juicy, it just seemed to melt in Braelyn’s mouth, barely needing to be chewed.
They ate their fill, content to enjoy the feast that was being given to them. Once the dinner platters were cleared away and they were bringing in the dessert platters Asa turned to Braelyn and finally broke his silence for the evening.
“Braelyn, may I speak with you?” He asked her.
“Of course, Asa.”
