The Village Is Attacked

As Braelyn ran, she told people to get to safety. There was a group of young children huddling between two buildings.

“Run, go to the chief’s you will be safe.” She told them, guiding them out of their hiding place and ushering them away.

As they continued to run, they could see smoke and flickering flames on the edge of town.

“Ethan, they seem to have figured out your idea.” Braelyn said as she realized that several of the buildings at the perimeter were ablaze.

“I hope they didn’t hear me essentially making the fires my fault. But looking at the timing, I’m going to guess that’s exactly what happened.”

“It’s not your fault.” Braelyn tried to soothe him before moving on. “Water.” Braelyn said, and with that one simple word jets of crystal-clear water shot out of her palms and flew toward the fires extinguishing them almost instantly. Braelyn heard a strange growling sound as the fires went out.

“Who did that?” One of the growling voices said angrily.
