Chapter 14

It was pitch black at the bottom. The previous light was lost in the wind of the stairwell. His eyes adjusted immediately, taking in a small earthen chamber with flat benches and shelves along the walls of the enclosure. Krixtyle was off to the left of the room where a tunnel lead further.

Krixtyle glanced over his shoulder as Col approached. The look in his eyes was all murder, his teeth were bared and clenched. Col slowed, giving Krixtyle enough time to discern who it was that came near, for that look sheer danger; A Shifter in his fury.

“Col…” said Krixtyle in a tone that was something like relief and regret. “I'm sorry I...”

“You're elbow-deep in this pile of shit, eh?” finished Col. “Come on man, I'll lead.”
