Chapter 46

The Trial of Aikkul Drakkul

Col raged within a cage of glimmering white bars. The mage court-room was packed to the brim with mages, all murmuring between themselves. A day had passed since the battle of the Norths, which had yet to gain a better name.

The Zealchare had spent the night and much of the early morning clearing the ghouls from Theyeark. He now stood beside the glimmering cage, making sure it held. It pained him to see Col in such a mood within, though he knew it was mostly the fault of the cage itself. It can be quite stressful to be trapped inside one’s own soul.

A fourth place was made among Tezera, Davinech, and Evenpruis for the Herald of the High Order. He sat now, as the testimonies ended, and Tezera began to weave the truth in pictures in the middle of the court. Col's memories of the past week were played out completely, showing everything that could be gleaned from his defenseless mind.
