CHAPTER 36

Welcome back folks, to the….” The quizmaster said, waiting for the audience to finish his sentence.

“National Science and maths quiz!” They yelled in unison.

The thirty-minute break had ended and they all came back to the auditorium for the tiebreaker, everyone wanted to know the outcome because, in all of the editions in the national science and maths quiz there had been only a total of three tiebreakers, and all of them were face-offs between the same sexes.

So this was the first time in history where there was a tiebreaker between two members of the opposite sex.

Xander and Amaya somehow had the same expression on both their faces; a mixture of calmness and competitiveness.

‘You’re going down,’ they both thought.

The battle continued for what seemed like a year, and they were both tied again. The clock was ticking down, and time was running out, there was one question left to decide the winner, and both Xander and Amaya weren’t going to pass up the chance to win.
