25. The Sign

Hannah

As soon as Hannah had stopped crying, she redressed herself, and for a few seconds she considered taking a nap, but she had never slept as much as she had been doing since her birthday. Sleeping would get her nowhere and her mind was racing with questions. She went into the kitchen and poured herself a new cup of camomile tea and went out to the patio, where she had seen Luke shift just a few hours prior.

“Alina, are you there?”

“Yes, I am here for a while. Every time we are near our mate, I get stronger. Soon I will be here all the time”

“Can we shift as well?”

“Not yet, we still need some strength, and…. We also need Xander when we shift. The suppression of me, for this many years would make the shift painful and even more if our mate isn’t there.”
