A world filled with magic and mystery, ancient celestials and new enemies, dragon royalty to elven poverty, cursed lands and forbidden ruins, Ethereal is home to the people from the dying Alecte Realm. 

In the world of Ethereal, Scott Powers lives an unsuspecting life while slightly ignorant of the outside world. In Erebus, the Upper region of the Underworld surrounded by walls, Scott and his family live their ordinary lives until, one day, Scott discovers umbra, misty shadow-like beings, have invaded Erebus underneath everyone's noses. While Scott plans to move them back to the underworld, mysterious forces drag him out of the walls and into the vast world full of magical creatures and spiritual abilities. 

Outside of the Underworld, Scott gets to meet the creatures he's read about for years, and he somehow becomes friends with a few princes and princesses. Along the journey to get back home he encounters all kinds of misfortunes, he wants to help but can he? 

And along with the impending doom he faces, he also experiences his and others' pasts through bonding with them. Broken dragon families, hurting siren royalty, and thieving orcs will be met and their pasts will unfold to create a bigger picture within a ripped paper. 

What role does Scott have in this world? And how can this teenager cope dealing with romance, betrayal and friendship?

A while later, Scott wakes up with an aching body but when he remembers the nightmare he had his head hurt too. He doesn't have time to think about what it meant because Grayson and Eggy are in his room the moment he sat up. 'Are they spying on me somehow?' Scott thinks. 


His uneasiness must show on his face because Grayson pats his leg and sits on the bed saying, "I heard your breathing quicken." 


Eggy jumps onto Scott's legs, "papa, how are you feeling?" 


"Better than yesterday." Scott says. That was the truth. His limbs may be sore and his head hurt a bit, but that was nothing compared to the deliriousness he felt yesterday. It was as if he was held underwater.. Well, he was underwater. But he felt his head had been submerged in it, clouding his thoughts and actions. He had felt almost numb to everything. 


"Great! Eggy feels better too!" Eggy lays down on Scott's knee and holds onto him. "Eggy was scared.."
