Chapter 3

The morning was crisp and cold, the cold morning wind blew her hair all over her face, and she loved the smell of nature so she decided to roll down the windows of her Jeep. They were past the American borders successfully, the giant brown trailer behind her and Jacques’s black Audi behind it to make sure no one was tailing after them. They reached the Canadian borders around 8 o’clock in the morning where they met Samuel and his men. Samuel was a tall man with black hair and green eyes and a beard, there was a tattoo on his left arm which was noticeable as he rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt which was tucked into his black jeans.

“Friend, it is so nice to see you again” he greeted heartily in his thick French Canadian accent as he hugged her, something was wrong, she figured, Samuel was a heartless man but he never wore his heart on his sleeve, his face was always expressionless, so the fact that there was a smile on his face was suspicious and she was sure she detected a hint of nervousness in his greeting, something was going on.

“Same Samuel, it has been long” she pretended with a small smile, she could not let him know that she was suspicious, it would ruin whatever operation was going on and she had to find out

“I hope my goods have arrived safely”

“Of course, but you know how business goes, I want to see my money first, 27 million in cash”

“Ahhhh…smart woman but this is a business deal and I always keep my end” he said as he nodded to one of his men in a black SUV. Five men brought out about six heavy sacks out of the SUV, she gave a signal to Jacques who was at her side to check it. He bent down for a few minutes examining it before standing up and nodding in affirmative

“Boys bring down the goods” her voice rang around the abandoned area as her men started to bring out the cocaine disguised as pillows, one of Samuel’s men came to check one of the goods before nodding at him.

“It was a pleasure doing business with you your highness” Samuel started as her men carried the sacks “but I’m afraid this deal has to be terminated” he finished as suddenly a gun was pointed at her head by one of his men and guns were raised from each side. Rose looked expressionlessly at the man pointing the gun at her, her eyes slowly assessing him. She could see the fear in his eyes clearly, it showed like a mirror, his hands were shaking as he pointed the gun at her, he was new, that much she could figure, Samuel was lacking men, how? And where the hell was Michael? Samuel’s best man. There were lot of holes in this and she had to fill it, she removed a miniature hour glass from her pocket and placed it upside down on her palm, confusion was etched in the man’s features

“What are you doing?” he asked in a thick accent “three minutes” she replied “what?” “You have three minutes to either drop the gun or shoot, make your choice” “don’t listen to her you idiot, SHOOT!!!” Samuel bellowed angrily but now she could hear it clearly, the fear, the fear laced in his voice, he was afraid, why?

Someone had a big part in all of this and she was going to find out who. She looked down at the hour glass in her palm and it remained only a few seconds “5…4…3…2…1” she swiftly carried the gun from his hands and used her legs to push him to the ground before shooting him thrice on the head with his gun. Shots were heard as Samuel’s men dropped dead, she walked towards him in confidence, determined to find out who was behind this

“You didn’t do this Samuel, so who did? And why?” “I…I…I don’t know what you’re talking about” he stammered, fear etched on his face “very well, we’ll do it your way” she nodded to Jacques and a loud shot was heard.
