CHAPTER FOUR

Drunk Asses

It was difficult to combine work with school but Erin made it easier. It's still a wonder how she pulled it but Wednesdays and Thursdays were given to us off. And on Tuesdays,we left earlier than the rest of the team. We worked hard at shifting our classes to those free days. Deb was overjoyed our classes were still in sync...oh yeah, she modified hers too. Overall,it was worth it. A win-win.

Saturday came quickly and Erin met with us at our apartment as usual. After debating clothes and makeup - I decided to go natural today but don't I always? - we strolled down to the bar three blocks away.

It was a very homey and comfortable bar. The kind of place where we could get drunk and still make it home basically because it was close to our apartment. Whenever Deb and I came here, she would get drunk leaving a sober me to drag her home. Dusty, the bartender always laughed at the stunts she pulled whenever she was damn drunk. Trust me,they were hilarious.

The bar was scantily scattered with few patrons and matrons when we got there. We made our way to a table with four seats.

"A club would've been great" Erin frowned."There's no life in here"

"Say that again so the uptight Gina who have never been to one hear you" Deb said with a scoff.

"Oh come on,you two. This is one of the few places where you wouldn't get judged for drinking a non spiked liquid. Plus,it's a great show when a certain someone gets drunk." Deb scoffed again as Erin giggled fully understanding. "I'll go order for us. You girls mustn't get drunk. We have a movie to watch, okay?"

"Yes mum" Deb replied.

"Hey Reggie." Dusty greeted when I got to the bar stand. He was the only one who called me that. "Who's the new chick?" He leaned forward, head on his palm as his elbow rested on the table.

"That's Erin,a new friend of ours. And don't even think about hitting on her." He chuckled.

"What would I get you girls?"

"I'll have two spiked lemonade and a plain one"

"Still Little Miss uptight I see. Can't wait to watch your drunk ass."I smiled at him.

"That will never happen dusty dusty dust" I sing sang.

"Don't call me that"

"Alright triple D." He groaned

"Here are the drinks." I took them from him and handed him his money. "And Reggie,I like boys." He winked as I shook my head and made my way back to the table.

"Dust making a move on you?" Deb inquired

"Ew,no. The thought alone is gross."

"He's hot though". Erin giggled.

"He's gay." Erin muttered an 'oh'

"So what'd you get us?"

"Spiked lemonade. You'll get just a glass of vodka if you're lucky to win her damned heart." I laughed at Deb's frown as she responded.

"It's safer that way, honey" She rolled her eyes. "You'd eventually get drunk when I go to the bathroom. You always do that or find another means to get a sip of alcohol."

"You two are a cute pair" Erin muttered as she took a sip from her lemonade. Deb quickly downed hers.

"I think I would need another,Gina" She requested with cute puppy eyes.

Rolling my eyes,I met with Dusty again and requested for another glass of spiked lemonade. When I made to leave,Dusty quickly stopped me and gave me a lecture on how babies were made. Seriously!? Talk about weirdo.

The girls were smiling mischievously when I got back. Ignoring them,I downed my lemonade. It was different. It tasted sweeter and then after rolling down my tongue,I felt like returning everything to the glass. I frowned bitterly at the girls high five.

"Bitches" They laughed.

"How does it taste mum?" Deb spat with a light chuckle.

"I've only wanted to ever get drunk at home, bitch"

"Doesn't matter. You can get drunk anywhere, miss Uptight. Loosen up a little."

"You're clearly not drunk,Gina" Erin comforted.

"But I feel different." Is this how drunk feels like? I asked myself

"Like you could rule the world?" Deb asked with her eyes glittering.

"More like I could give you a slap"

"Don't be so mean. It's just a bit of alcohol. You aren't drunk,I guarantee." She whimpered. "You're just a teeny weeny bit tipsy." I shot daggers at her with my eyes

"I'd use the bathroom." I glared at Dusty who obviously was a part of their silly GetGinaDrunk prank.

After using the bathroom,I fixed my mascara which was blurry now that I washed my face. I was a bit tipsy, hell. Those bitches. I chuckled at their stunt now. How sweet of them to care about my alcohol life, note the sarcasm intended.

I exited the washroom to collide with a wall. A human wall. His chest was hard and wide. I looked up to tell him off but his brown eyes caught my attention. He swayed, clearly drunk but I kept staring at the glint in his eyes. He smirked and pushed himself towards me. I stopped myself from stepping back and allowed his head rest on my shoulders. His scent was manly and a tad familiar. His voice too when he spoke.

"I'll be your fire" He laughed "Melt your Ice" I flinched.

He hadn't meant to but he had hit a very sensitive note. A part of me I had kept well hidden. My name. No,he doesn't know me. He was just drunk talking.

"Could you get off me,mister? I need to get back to my friends."

I inwardly face palmed for seeking permission when I could easily push him off then leave his drunken talks.

"Oh,I needed to use the bathroom" His voice was husky with a rich Britain accent. "See you later,Ice"

Okay, now that was super creepy. I stood by the doorway watching this stranger whom felt familiar walk away after calling me that. That name I once loved. That name hiding a lot of my past. A lot of my secrets. A lot of the pain. A lot of the memories. The name only Nana and Nolan called me.

ICE.
