Shocked

"I'm two weeks pregnant" after I admitted the truth It was silent no one said a word all I could do was stare at the floor. I nervously played with my fingers as I do when I'm anxious or nervous. No one spoke for two minutes until mom decided to speak "Are you sure?" she asked quietly I nodded then looked up from the floor to meet her eyes. "Children wanna see my collection of cards?" Aunt Glinda intervenes. They nod their heads and then follow her up the stairs. "I'm gonna be outside if you need me" Miranda says and walks out of the living room. Mom moves closer to the chair where I'm currently sitting at not knowing what to say.

Mom broke the silence after sitting there awkwardly for five minutes. "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" I cry looking up at her "Because I was afraid of what you would say" She nods understandingly and looks In my eyes "Honey I would never make you do something you don't want to do and I will never be disappointed in you, I love you no matter what happens so when things like this happens please tell me when your ready okay." I nod and she holds me as I cry on her shoulder. "I know I should have told you but I was terrified of what you may say" she rubs my back "I know it's okay, I have to ask you something" I back out of the hug sniffling looking at her nodding telling her that she can continue.

"Do you want to keep this baby?" She asks and I wipe my eyes "Yes" I said and she smiles like a weight has been lifted off of her "Okay well then were gonna have to make a pit stop before dinner or we can go tomorrow" she says confusing me she laughs at my reaction "To check on the baby of course and to get medicine before we leave" I nod smiling and wiping the excess tears that are sliding down my face. "You do realize you will have to support the baby so you will need to get a job" I nod "I know" I say laughing and she nods at me "Good you have to learn to live with the the consequences" I sigh softly and we just sit there talking about what I need for the baby, I'm mostly excited to go shopping for my baby.

After talking for a bit Aunt Glinda came back down the stairs and back into the living room "So are we going to dinner or what I'm starving" she said laughing and we all laughed allong with her. Mom looked at me for a moment then looked back at Aunt Glinda "Let's go my grand baby Is probably starving right about now" She says and Miranda comes back just in the nick of time "Well then lets hit the road Jack" I laughed at that old expression but more surprised I knew what that meant. Toby and Kate ran to me hugging me "Does this mean I'm going to be an uncle?" Toby asks me and mom both smiled "Oh wow your going to be an uncle at six years old, man I'm old" everyone laughs and Toby's eyes widen as he realizes what that means.

"Can I be the auntie?" I looked at Miranda and she nods and I turn to look at Kate "You most definitely can be the auntie" my stomach growls ruining the moment. "Well I guess someones hungry" Aunt Glinda says laughing along with everyone else. I let Toby and Kate go and stand up "Yes well I'm hungry and that being said lets go" we all walk outside to my mom's car which is a Lexus LX which Is a eight seater which Is very convenient right now because we have three extra people coming with us. I hop in the back helping Toby and Kate In the car as Miranda grabs her car seat from her car that is parked in front of us in the driveway.

I buckle up Toby as Miranda hooks up the car seat for Kate, Once done I make sure It is secure I make my way in the back where me and Miranda will be sitting. Once Miranda is done buckling up Kate she gets in shuts the door and makes her way in the back beside me. "What time is it?" mom asks and I take out my phone turning it on "It's 4:56" I say putting my phone in my front pocket. "Okay well lets go then" mom says pulling out of the driveway and onto the road. "So what you guys getting at Perkins?" mom asks "I'm not hungry" Toby says playing with his toy. "Okay no food for Toby how about you Kate?" she shakes her head "I ate already" she says and my mom sighs "So It's just the adults that are eating" Aunt Glinda laughs "I believe so" mom laughs after her sister "Okay what are you getting Winter?" I shrug "Um....two things of salmon, salad, mashed potatoes, and broccoli" Miranda looks at me wide eyed.

"That's a lot of food for just one baby, who knows maybe your having twins" she says and I shrug at her "I won't know until we go to the doctor's tomorrow" she smiles "Well whatever is your decision we'll support you no matter what" I nod "Thank you" I say shyly and we all end up talking about what were getting and now I just want some food. Who knows maybe Miranda is right....Maybe I am having twins. That would be awesome yet terrifying "Were here" mom says interrupting my thoughts. "Fooood" I said hungrily Auntie laughed at my antics and we soon got Toby and Kate out of the car seats then got out of the car and started walking to the restaurant after we shut the door and mom locked the doors.

We got In and me and Miranda stayed with the kids while Mom and Aunt Glinda went to get the seating arranged. After a few minutes they came back and we all went to the booth. We all sat down and wait for the waiter to come to our table, "Mom did you tell Auntie whats going on Thursday?" mom nods "I talked to her on the phone while you two were gone" I nod. A boy around my age comes over to the table "Hi how may I help you today?" he asks but i feel like he's directly staring at me for some reason. Auntie just laughs as this boy just stares at me like I'm a hunk of meat "Can I get a steak dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli" mom says and he writes the order down. Everyone soon then gives their orders besides me and the kids, after Miranda is done It's my turn to say what I want to eat.

"Hi I want two salmon dinners with mashed potatoes and broccoli and for the mean time I want a salad with no dressing or croutons in the salad please and thank you" I say and the guy just looks at me like I've lost my mind but proceeds with my order "Okay I'll be back with everything soon any drinks while you are waiting." Everyone nods and gets a coke but i get a sprite cause I'm feeling different today "Okay I'll be back with your order" he says and walks to the kitchen. "Ooooh someone's got a crush on you" Miranda says and I blush "He barely knows me I bet if he found out I was pregnant he'd run away from me" she shakes her head "Nonsense a word of advice not everyone will walk away you have to at least give them a chance before moving on" she says and I hate to admit but she does have a valid point.
