The Moving Company

I nodded "Okay we should have our stuff packed by then " Mom smiled saying "Thank you" the rest of the car ride was pretty quiet none of us wanting to break the silence. Maybe moving to Oklahoma won't be too bad after all, maybe we all need a fresh start. Soon enough we got to the house mom parked the car I unbuckled myself then unbuckled Toby's seat belt as well. I got out first then helped Toby out of the vehicle just so he wouldn't fall or anything and break something important. Toby ran off towards the house while I just shut the door and followed him, mom was already unlocking the house when as soon as I stepped onto porch. We didn't say a word not because we were shocked, mad, or disappointed or something like that but simply because we all were tired to speak. We all walked Into the house leaving me the last one to close the door so I close it and locked it. "Alright well I'm gonna hit the hay" I say waving at Mom since Toby already went upstairs already there's no doubt he's probably playing with his cars or something of the sort. "Me too." mom says walking up the stairs yawning behind me when both of us got upstairs, I waved her goodnight and walked into my room shutting the door with my foot. Honestly I just wanna pass out with what I'm wearing right now you know what forget It. I laid flat on the bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep in minutes.

Wednesday morning was terrific if you call waking up and running to the bathroom every ten minutes. Who knew morning sickness will be a pain in the butt? At this point all I wanted to do was curl up in the fetal position and sleep. Too bad I couldn't I still have things to pack and the movers are coming today yip yip hooray. I slowly got off of the floor and walked to the sink grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste and turn off the water. I brush my teeth three times just to make sure my breath doesn't stink. Rinsing out the toothbrush I put the toothpaste in the cabinet then turned the water off and put the toothpaste in the cabinet as well. I turned the water on again and washed my face to help me wake up once I'm done I turn the water off and grabbed the towel to my left and dried my face. I put the towel in the hamper and head back to my room still feeling sleepy but not as sleepy as I was before. I left my door open and started packing up my trophies I got from being In gymnastics since the age of Four years old. I won ten medals all throughout my gymnastic career I just recently quit last year when my dad died. I shake my head and started packing other things like two weeks worth of clothes, toothpaste, toothbrush, everything I needed for at least two weeks. Other things I packed were some things from dad well more importantly letters he made just before his death, I haven't opened any of them as they had a specific date on them.

There were five letters in total all had dates on them although one I could have opened when I turned seventeen just never had the courage to open it. lost in my own world I didn't notice mom standing by the door "You just gonna stare at It or are you gonna open It" I jumped a bit placing my hand over my heart "You scared the hell out of me" she chuckled and walked closer to me. "I think It's time you finally open It I can't keep It a secret much longer" she says "Keep what secret?" Mom sighs when the door bell rings. "We will talk about this as soon as you open up your letter" She says walking towards the door but before she leaves she says "Don't show anyone the letters that say seventeen and eighteen okay." she looks at me and I nod "Of course" She nods and heads downstairs to answer the door. "What was all that about?" I sigh and go back to packing everything I needed for two weeks including my most prized possessions. It took me bout an hour and thirty minutes mom came in my room holding a bag of Arby's in her hand "You gotta feed my grand baby soon" she walks to my bed and takes out three sandwiches and potato cakes. I eagerly get up and started eating the potato cakes first to my relief I didn't feel sick as I did earlier this morning. "What time Is It?" I asked mom as she sat down by me on my bed she took out her phone "It's nine o'clock why?" I shrugged "When Is the moving company coming?"

She smiled a bit before answering "They are already downstairs packing up boxes from the kitchen." I nod finishing my potato cakes and moving onto one of the sandwiches.

"I'm done packing only used about five boxes and a suitcase for the road trip. Wait we are going on a road trip right?" mom laughed "Of course were going on a road trip I couldn't get plane tickets If you get them late then they're more expensive." I nod my head "Makes sense" I say. "Honey about earlier I just want you to know I'm here for you." mom says patting my shoulder before heading out. "Mom" She turns around looking at me "Thank you." she nodded "My pleasure mow eat up that kid can't feed themself's you know." I smile "I know mom bye" she smiles one last time and heads out. I end up finishing the sandwiches and potato cakes I sighed "Maybe I should open It?" I shake my head and walked to my suitcase taking out the letter marked seventeen. I sigh breathing in and out I carefully open the letter. I close the flap down for a bit and sit down in the chair by my desk I breathe in and out before taking the letter out dropping a necklace onto the floor. Picking it up I notice this is grandmother's necklace she wore all the time before passing away three years ago. Setting the necklace down onto the desk I focus on the letter out in front of me. My hands tremble as I pick up the letter and opening the letter up fully I close my eyes before reading what is written on the letter. After a few minutes of closing my eyes I hear knocks on my door I put the letter and the necklace back into the envelope and place it back into my suitcase closing it before I opened the door.

"Hi I am Selena here to take boxes in van." she says and I step out of the way letting her inside. I point to the five boxes and she nods and picks two up and walks out of the room. A guy then comes to the door and grabs another two boxes and heads out following after Selena. I sit down by the desk again after grabbing the envelope out of the suitcase and tracing my fingers on the envelope in different patterns. I wait until Selena comes back into my room to collect the last box only took two minutes before she was back in the room again picking up the last box. She nodded at me I smiled "See ya" I said as she headed out she nods one more time before heading out of the room. I sigh staring at the letter once more and decided to open it It says "Happy seventeenth birthday pumpkin I can't believe your almost eighteen. There are Important things I must tell you...."
