A Friend In Need

"Where did your mom go?" Trish asked looking over to the couch mom was sitting on earlier I shrugged not seeing her there. "Maybe she's In the kitchen" I say smiling brightly jumping up and down excitedly Trish laughs "Yep your definitely eating for two" I laugh at her and we walked towards the kitchen. Toby ran down the stairs and into the kitchen really fast meaning he did something that he wasn't supposed to or he smelt food being cooked. We walked into the kitchen to mom was flipping a burger on the stove "Toby why didn't you put that in the box?" mom asked toby while cooking. We walked to the counter where a stack of bread and burgers were and made ourselves a plate. I had grabbed three sandwiches while Trish grabbed two. Before leaving the room with our food mom asked Trish If she could help us out with something I just stared confused and curious on what she's going to ask Trish to do. "Trish can you help us load up the car with our bags they're by the front door" Mom asked while turning off the stove and grabbing a plate of food for Toby and herself. Trish smiled "I'd love to help" I shake my head before Trish placed her plate on the table "Nope you do It after we eat" I say taking a bite out of one of the sandwiches on my plate.

Mom just chuckled and we all gathered in the living room. "So what movie we watching today?" I asked Trish since she'd the guest in the house and she'd like family to us. "Oooh can we watch an episode on WandaVision?" My eyes were wide open "How did you know I wanted to watch that?" she smiled and raised her finger to her head and tapped her head "I'm a mind reader duh" I chuckled and put on a most recent episode of WandaVision. Toby stood up and handed his plate to Trish and climbed on the couch between me and Trish and Trish handed Toby his plate back when he was settled down properly. "Don't make a mess on the couch okay" Mom said and Toby smiled "I won't mommy" and he took a bite out of his cheeseburger. "Imma just skip the intro" Trish chuckled "Good Idea" she said and I pressed the skip intro button at that moment my phone decides to go off. I took out my phone and answered the call without checking the caller ID. "Um...Who Is this?" the other person on the line laughed "We meet in the bathroom yesterday" I nodded even though she couldn't see me. "I didn't think you'd call me I honestly thought you were going to text me first." She chuckled "Is this a bad time?" I scoffed "If you call watching WandaVision Important" She laughed at my answer.

"Well I was bored and I saw your number in my phone and was like why not?" She said making me smile. "Hey me and my family's going to the clinic today before we leave you wanna come?" It was silent for a second before she replied "Are you sure I'm not intruding or something?" I smiled "No you won't be intruding or anything like that" I say honestly "Well If you want me to go I'll meet you there" she said "Okay great the clinic is on Cane Run Road the route number is KY 1934" I say as I hear some movement from her side of the phone. "Okay I'm like twenty minutes away from the clinic your going to" she said while I ate my sandwiches. "Okay we're leaving at 3:20 the appointment's at four I believe" I say and mom nods her head to confirm what was coming out of my mouth was true. "Okay Ill see you there bye" she said enthusiastically "Bye" I replied then hanged up the phone sitting it down on the coffee table in front of me. "So is that your friend you meet yesterday?" I nodded "She'll be join us for my check up today" I say and mom smiles "You've always made friends even in the most drastic ways" I chuckled "What's so wrong on wanting to shine a little light to a situation?" She smiled "Nothings wrong with that I just assumed you would grow out of that since it caused you to be in a lot of trouble when you were younger" I shake my head.

Trish sighs "What's wrong?" I asked she shrugged "You won't replace me with another person right?" I gasped "Why would you say such a thing of course I'll always be your friend for as long as you want me to be" She nods then looks up at me and smiles. I wrap my arms around her to comfort her "If I didn't know any better I would have said you were pregnant" Suddenly she goes still in my arms and I break away to see her face. "I haven't had my you know what in a week" my eyes were wide open mom looked at us for a while and Toby just ate his food minding his own business "Were you and Evan" she nods "Every week of this month" I sighed "We'll find out today maybe we can see take you to a clinic today?" She nods and tears start forming her eyes "I'm scared" I pulled her back into a hug "No matter what you'll have our support" She cries for a few more moments before actually cooling down "Thank you" I back away from her and nod "You're welcome" she wipes underneath her eyes and smiles "Okay enough of that lets watch some episodes until we have to leave" I nod and we all just stayed quiet as we played episode four of WandaVision for the tenth time.

Around 3:05 we all got into the car and drove to the clinic we listened to music and singed along like nothing had changed. When we got out of the car I gave Christina a call "Hey where are you?" I asked as soon as she answered the phone. "I'm inside already in the waiting room" I nod even though she can't see me nod "Okay we're heading in now" I say as mom locks the car doors. "I'll be here" she says and I hanged up mom came up to me "You ready to get checked out?" I shake my head "I'm so nervous right now" I said wrapping my arms around myself "I was really nervous when I had you but It all worked out in the end" I smile and breathe in and out "Okay I'm ready" mom nods and holds Toby's hand and mine while Trish holds the other hand. We all walk in the clinic I look around to see where Christina's at It takes me a little bit then I notice her by the water fountain. "So where's your friend?" Trish asked and I pointed by the fountains where Christina was waiting for an older looking woman to be done. I let go of their hands "I'll be right back" I said making my way towards Christina "Okay we'll let them know your here" mom said and i nodded as I kept walking towards her.

Once I got close enough I tapped her shoulder she turned around "Hey" I smiled "Sup" I replied with Christina chuckled "I take It your family's here?" she asks and I nod and point to where my family's sitting. She smiles and waves at them Trish waves back as well as Toby "My mom is checking me in as we speak" she smiles "You look like a wonderful family" I smile "Yeah but to every wonderful moment there are worse moments yet to come" She nods impressed "You are wise my friend" she says and I laugh a bit once I stop laughing I look at her "I'm a writer that's why I can say things like that" She stares wide eyed at me "I did not know that" We both chuckle. We get to the water fountain and each of us takes a sip before heading towards my family. "Now we wait" I say sitting down between Trish and Christina.
