"I found my mate and I think she just rejected me so... yeah happy me," I responded. I tried to keep my voice neutral so that I could hide my pain but it was such a fail.

"Well if it makes you feel any better, I don't have a mate either brother," Damien responded. For someone who was human, that is before I turned him, he sure did lack empathy. "Does she not like your form?" He asked after realizing that he wasn't making me feel any better. I looked different. Yes that was true.  But not that much different. I know that that wasn't the reason why she rejected me if I can call it a rejection. My mate rejected me because I was of low status and income.

"Well, you came back late," Damien said as soon as I got into the house. I mean it was pretty late, but I definitely didn't need him parenting me. I can take care of myself for goodness sake! "Why on earth are you in my room?" I responded irritated by his mere presence. I was annoyed that he was here, because I wanted some alone time. I had just gotten back from Rebecca's place after putting her to bed. And I was extremely tired. My social batteries had run out and I needed to recharge. I was honestly hoping that I could get some alone time but alas Damien had other plans for me. 


"I didn't pin you for one to mess around with humans," he added ignoring my response, irritation, and angry face. His comment seemed to tick me off. Like why would he even say that? There was nothing wrong with humans. Rebecca was my friend so I wasn't going to stand and listen to this rubbish. "What do you mean?" I asked very slowly hoping that Damien go the hint of how mad I was.
