Chapter 03

Chapter 03: Trouble-Seeker Part 01

*Meri's POV*

Since all of the teachers went to the meeting, we still have some time to sneak out to the canteen as the other kids did. The boys who were chatting with us earlier had gone there, Arga who proposed it in the first place, the rest just followed. If only I wasn't loyal to her, I would have been in the canteen enjoying pizza before it ran out. But as the only female friend and her best confidant place, of course, I will accompany her, hehe. I peeped over her notes, she was still working on the assignment that was supposed she does at home, "Why is this taking you forever?"

Not wanting to distract her focus, Keiysy responded, with a hand that scribbled some formulas into her pink notebook, not looking at me for even a second. "Just a moment, I'm almost done."

I continued to remain silent as the taller girl switch her pen a few times in the last minutes, actually Mr.Chi gave us a quite simple assignment, but she's the one who's too diligent to write the answer that looks like a thesis. Her hobby is what makes her like that, since the first time I saw her, books have always accompanied her. Wherever, whenever she is, in all her activities a small book must be seen in her arms. What's interesting about her is that while she likes to hang out with those piles of books they don't make her a geek, she's very outgoing with everyone.

Another thing you can notice when you first see her is her smile that never fades, that's what makes Alin venture to confess her feelings to his beloved.

I protest once again, "I'm STARVING, girl. My stomach is having a demonstration in there."

She giggled, glancing at me then back to her note, her bangs hovered over her other eye, covering it almost. "Really? How do I look right now?"

"To be honest, you look weird, bro. You do know that Mr. Chi gave us that task as homework, right? So, it doesn't have to be done today."

She turned her head towards me while giving a small smile, convincing me to wait for another minute, "Yes, I know that, Mer. Just a moment, I'm almost finished."

"Alright, alright. I'll just wait."

Before long she stood up, stretching her arms and waist that might feel sore from sitting too long, then she turned to tidy up the desk which was filled with notebooks and empty pens scattered about, she jumped in excitement, "Didn't you said you're starving? To the canteen, we go~"

In front of the canteen, it looks like both students and students are huddled together blocking the entrance, I didn't expect them to attack the canteen like this. Usually, there are only a few students who will come to the canteen, the rest are those who obey the rules, the nice kids. But, that doesn't make me a bad student, just a little rebellion won't hurt, right?

Just as we nearly reach the food bar, there's a whole pack blocking our way, for real though, hell they don't know how feisty I can be, "Come on dude, you're all blocking the door. I said MOVE."

The first graders were shocked to hear my screams and immediately walked away, yeah don't you dare mess with me, Meri

Keiysy said, "Chill out, Mer. It's not like we've got the best pizza in town."

"It's not 'THE' best one out there, but it's the best one we've got today. Trust me, my sidekick."

She replied, "Sure, you and your amigo."

I do have my own way when it comes to food. Believe it or not, I have lots of quite famous chefs as my amigo, not bragging of course. Ah, you know the one that used to be on the television? The one that fried eggs without using oil? Yes, he's my friend, a close one honestly. You see since my parents have opened our restaurants they got a lot of famous chefs as an acquaintance, and not few of them introduce their child to me too, offering me to be their next heiress. But, no-no-no. No thank you, I am still waiting for Mi Principe, the one, and only Arga Chalis Biantara.

In the middle of the canteen, a kid from the first class was seen sitting on the floor in the middle of a group of other students. I seemed to know the back of someone was standing proudly in front of the child cursing him non-stop. Keiysy looked at me worriedly, shaking her head constantly. Unwilling to just stand by watching the girl harassed the younger one.

I and she approached slowly trying to find out what the source of the commotion was going on here, and sure enough the back I saw belonged to the daughter of one of the contributors to this school, Ayu Elvina. seemingly his father starts to contribute last semester, and she became wild after. Not that she became a lion, but she's thirsty for attention. I feel like I want to pity her, but she's the one who keeps looking for trouble.

"Your dear father's love is lacking, isn't it? Until you have to look elsewhere, poor you. Daddy must've been so busy lately, didn't he? How could he ignore his beloved princess?"

She screeched, her half screaming voice echoed, making enough attention directed to us, or at her to be precise."EXCUSE ME?!?!"

She continued, cleaning her clothes out of embarrassment, shouldn't we be the ones who do that? Well, never mind, I'd rather be in detention than have a never-ending argument with that living cockroach.

Ayu raised her hand, brushing my shoulders away from the invincible dust a few times, "Watch what you're saying."

She paused, taking a breath before continuing to threaten me with a tight voice, "I certainly don't want a filthy slut like you and your fatty friend over there got pathetic detention just because of this lame accident. So don't piss me off, I'll be so sad if you got detention. Who's going to replace you guys? You're the perfect toys, I've ever had, and I don't even start yet."

She walks away with her followers following her behind after she gave me a smug grin. When she got close enough to me, I bumped her a bit making her groaned, looking at the forty-year-old lady who wears a white dirty apron that stands behind the food counter, inquiring her to back me up. "This cafeteria, can contain hundreds of students passing through every single day, one tiny bump won't hurt, right Julia?"

She pestered, nodding in agreement. "Por supuesto, now be dismissed all of you. Meriana, come get your meal before it's cold."

"Muchas gracias, I owe you one."

The canteen guardian and its best cook then put on a facial expression that told me that she was a little annoyed with our childish attitude, "Just don't make such a fuss ever again, Me entiendes?"

"Sí, mi señora."

I walked towards her giving a small massage on her shoulder, giving my gratitude. Cheering her up one more time, before accepting a medium-sized tray of two pizza plates she had left for me earlier. And returned to one of the empty tables that I found earlier, calling for Keiysy to sit down immediately before the teachers finished their meeting.

Ayu keeps standing still, clenching her teeth and both of her hands with her ugly rage face. I still don't understand though, just because she has the body of a violin she can get into the top 5 beauty, how unbelievable. Just as we took the last slice of pizza, she suddenly threw everything that lay on our table, spilling it everywhere.

Not satisfied yet, she grabbed Keiysy's collar and cursed her, and threw her hard on the floor. Her head hits the corner of the wall real hard to the point that the blood flows out nonstop.

"HEY, WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?"

I of course shoved her back which make her stumbled a bit but not enough to make her fall, she cried. "ACK, what are you doing? Why did you push me? Geez, how could you?" She fell limp to the ground, her annoying sobs ring clearly in my ears.

"The fuck-"

I was about to knock her sense out of her life, but then I notice something's weird. Keiysy would nag if someone messes her, although it's rare to see her angry, she would never let someone disturb her. That's when I saw her sitting frozen looking blankly at her bloody hands after she touched the back of her head.

I froze, suddenly not knowing what to do, we stared back at each other. Tears start flowing down her face. I panicked, my eyes started to scan the room looking for someone who could at least help, there's no one not even Julia. I sat in front of her, my hands shaking as I tried to stop the bleeding. I mouthed, "Everything's gonna be okay, don't worry."

The hallways started to get crowded when my eyes caught a fair-skinned boy who was chewing a chocolate muffin in his left hand, it's Arga. He remained to watch us from a distance occasionally whispering to his friend that was standing next to him, whom I assume is Daffin.

I shouted, "Arga, are you that stupid to just watch your friend bleed out like this? Or are you too bothered to help?"

Shocked, he turned his head to me and hurriedly called the rest of his friends to come to help us. Not long after that, Mrs. Shaz and some of the teachers, our social teachers rushed in. Carrying away bloody Keiysy from the crowd that got louder.
