It's been days since Becca confessed to me, but still lay in a shallow puddle of uncertainty. Questions cloud my head as myriads of color flash off and on when I think of her. Scolding myself has become old, as regular pastimes do after a while. I wish I could go back and fix horrible mess I made of my emotions. Holy shit I can't believe I just stood there dumbfounded! I'm such an idiot! Even worse, I can't believe I blew it so badly! I literally pulled a 'I don't understand love', it's so cliché! God dammit. I'm such a dumbass.
I lay in my bed, squishing my pillow against my face. I'm not sure if I want to disappear into the pillow or if I am trying to suffocate myself; maybe a bit of both. Streaks of despair leak from my eyes as I pull the pillow towards my body even more. In the midst of my despair, I hear a ringing noise from the other room. It takes me a minute to realize the origin of the sound; the doorbell.
I roll myself out of bed sprint to the front door, my messy hair falling absolutely everywhere. I approach the door and open it; all I see is amber hair and ocean eyes. "Um, hi Becca. Wha…"
"What am I doing here on a Saturday?" she giggles, "Well, I kinda saw you go home from school yesterday. I live down the street. I wanted to know if you wanted to hangout or something." Well that explains why she's here. Becca's hair is in a half up half down high bun, which perfectly matched her skater skirt, plain shirt, suspenders and heeled boots. Here I am, in my pajamas still. Great.
"Can you give me a minute to get ready?" I ask a little bit embarrassed.
"Of course! Can I come in and help?" Her smile is so big that I'm not sure it could be legal to say no.
"S-sure Becca." I escort her to my room, where cloths are hanging of every surface available. Becca gets right to work though; she looks through the clothes and picks out an outfit for me as I just stand there confused and tired. She tosses clothes and looks through piles so fast I don't know what's happening. "S-sorry for the mess, Becca. I haven't gotten a chance to clean it yet."
"That's okay A. Here!" Becca hands me high waisted shorts with a crop top that says 'peachy'. "This should be cute! Try it on!" This is a little bit different than my usual long pants and sweatshirts, but I guess I could wear this today, you know, for her.
"Sure, but can you step out for a sec?"
"Why? We are both girls. It's not anything I don't have too." I blush as I hide my face with the clothes she gave me.
"Uh, Becca. P-Please?" I blush even more. Blood just rushed to my face as I hear her giggle and stand up.
"Sure A, you weirdo. I'll be right outside. Let me back in when you're done!" Becca walks out of my room and closes the door behind her. I feel the blood release from my face as I start to put on my outfit. Why did you have to blush THEN of all times! You know she's a girl, the fact she has boobs too shouldn't be news! I finish putting on my clothes and throw my hair into a ponytail. I open the door to see Becca sitting on her phone. As she looks up at me, her eyes sparkle, her smile widens, and her cheeks glow a brilliant shade of pink.
"A, Aria! You're so, so cute! Damn!" Becca puts her head in her hands as she hides her expression from me. Is, is she blushing? Does she really think I look cute? I blush too, as Becca stands up and grabs my hand. "Come on A! Let's go out!"
"Wait," I say as she grabs my hand and starts to pull me towards the door.
"Come on!" She exclaims. I quickly grab my wallet and keys then continue out the door with Becca. One thing ponders my mind as I walk to the bus stop with her; did she really mean go out as in a date? I blush again at the thought. Becca smiles at me as she enters the bus. I follow her and sit next her, the sun shining on her beautiful face.
