:Emergency Pager

Aixela's Pov:

When the sun has risen, I immediately got up to prepare a delicious breakfast. I have just served the food at the table when Anton came out of his room. We still quietly shared food until he went into the bathroom to take a shower. I quickly washed the dishes and took a shower after him. I really hurried so that when he came out of the room we would leave immediately. But looks like something different happened than I expected.

He just looked at me so I was surprised.

"Why?" I asked.

"Why are you dressed?" He asked.

"H-huh? O-of course, you have work today right?" I answered.

"Yes, but you're not the one to work, are you? So why do you have to go with me?" He smirked.

"B-but, I'm always with you at work--"

"Not anymore," He said while looking into my eyes straight. "You might cause trouble again."

He was about to come out but I touched with two fingers the part of his uniform. He looked at it so I removed it before speaking.

"What if someone came here to kidnap me?"

He smirked so I looked down. Eventually, he handed me something. I just looked at that thing that looks like a watch.

"Do you still want me to wear it with you?" He said sarcastically.

I just took it and put it on.

"That is a wearable emergency pager," He said. He held my hand and point into a part of the wearable emergency pager. "If you push this button, I will be notified that you are in danger. So if you are in danger, just press it and I will come to you immediately," He said with authority.

I nodded, so he suddenly let go of my hand.

"Don't press that if you don't need to. And one more thing, don't go out of the house. There's a lot of food in the refrigerator. Don't make any noise or any noticeable action outside. Do you understand?"

"Yes," I answered.

He continued to walk away but he stopped again when I called him.

"Officer Dy..."

"What now?" He asked irritably.

"Thank you. And sorry for what happened yesterday."

He did not answer and just left. When he left, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. I immediately slumped on the sofa. I was even nervous because I almost pressed the emergency pager button he gave me. Eventually, my phone rang. Denise calls. I answered it immediately.

"So, how was it? Did you know if he was gay?" She asked.

"Goodness gracious, Denise! If you only know what and how big the mess I made!" I exclaimed.

"Then tell me! What happened?" She asked curiously.

"You know what? I didn't expect that I'll be spreading a fuss about Officer Dy being gay in the precinct. I mean, I saw him hugging a man so I assumed, our suspicions was correct. Besides, who wouldn't suspect his actions. Even you, your first impression of him is that he's gay, right? So how about me who's always with him. And then he said he hates girls. Argh!"

"Wait, wait! Why and how did you spread that fuss that he's gay? You're pretending to be mute, right?"

"Yeah, yeah! I can't speak so I just wrote it on a piece of paper that I am just going to give to Officer Yzerman, but! BUT that one nosy detective took the paper from me and then, that big mess happened."

"Does that Officer Dy already knew your stupidity?" She asked. I barely nodded. "You're freaking dead," She guffawed.

"I know. I really am," I sniveled.

"So what did he do? Did he punish you? Or did he scold you?"

"No, he didn't. And that's what I worried more about. He didn't even talk to me about that. He just gave me a watch with emergency pager then left me here at home alone."

"OH! What if he'll pay someone to kidnap you there and torture you," She bluffed.

"Denise!!!" I yelped.

She laughed like a drain. "Ok, ok! Just calm down. Maybe he doesn't want to talk about it anymore. Just be a good girl there and wait until he finally forgives you."

I took a deep breath. "I don't know. I'm just really guilty right now."

"Let's stop talking about that. Hmmm... By the way, how was the case going? When are you coming home?" She asked.

"I don't know either. Officer Dy said that he'll tell me once there is an improvement about the investigation, but he's not saying anything to me so it means there's still no progress," I answered.

"Aww! I hope that case ends soon. Mama misses you so much, and of course me too. But our book shop misses you more."

"Haha! I miss you guys too, so much! But I still have to wait. It's for our security, anyway," I said which she agreed.

"Oh, I almost forgot, how's Louis? He's not replying to my chats. Is he that busy?"

She didn't speak for a moment so I thought she hanged up the phone. "Denise, are you still there?"

"Y-yeah! Well, about Louis. I don't know. You know I don't care about him at all. But don't worry, I'll visit him in the hotel tomorrow and tell him that my sister who's crazy in love with him is already worrying because he's not replying."

I just smiled. "Thank you, Denise."

"But Xela, I hope you are not blinded by your love for him. I mean, you should learn how to doubt even just once."

"Denise, here we go again. Just, don't worry about me. I know what I'm doing, hmm?"

She took a deep breath. "Ok, fine."
