:Turnover

Aixela's Pov:

"Detective Givenchy said you're looking for us, Inspector?," Officer Dy asked after saluting.

"Yes", He answered. "You two, sit down first."

We even looked at each other before we sat down.

"I heard what happened last night. How are you Ms. Supresencia?"

[I'm perfectly fine, Sir. You have nothing to worry about.] I smiled and showed him my note.

"Are you sure? Don't you want to see a doctor?"

I shook my head before writing. [I'm very ok, Sir. I wasn't hurt because Officer Dy came right away to save me.]

Officer Dy looked at me, so I just looked at his Inspector.

"It's good then. I just hope it wouldn't happen again", He said.

I wrote again. [I'm really sorry, Sir. It's my fault. I promise it won't happen again.]

"It's alright, Ms. Supresencia, that's really happening. So now I've made up my mind."

"Of what, Inspector?" Officer Dy asked.

"Detective Givenchy will take over the witness protection for Ms. Supresencia."

"Inspector?" Officer Dy asked in shock.

Even I was surprised, so I hurriedly wrote. [Why Sir? Officer Dy didn't do anything wrong. He's doing everything to protect me.]

"I know that. But Detective Givenchy can protect you better. I'm not comparing both of them. But, in situations like this, Detective Givenchy has more experience. And one more thing, I heard that you got to deal easier with Detective Givenchy to each other so you won't have a hard time adjusting."

I started writing while Officer Dy was speaking.

"With all due respect, Sir. Even though Detective Givenchy has more experience, I believe we have the same ability to protect our witness. Also, I have been with Ms. Suprecensia for a long time, so I know her better than others. And, a lot depends on the turnover of the protection program. Many things will be affected, especially the witness," He said.

[I'm used to Officer Dy, and I'm more confident with him because somehow we already know each other.] I also showed him my note.

"But you can also be more confident with Detective Givenchy if you just get to know him better," the Inspector suggested.

"But Inspector--"

Officer Dy could no longer continue what he was going to say when his Inspector spoke.

"Officer Dy, leave us two first," the Inspector commanded. Officer Dy nodded before sadly leaving.

"I'm sorry if I made a sudden decision. I hope you understand," He started.

He stood up and walked towards the cabinet where he had taken a picture. "Detective Dy's father and I were already friends ever since we were in high school. We both went to the same university and took the same courses. Until he got married and had a child."

"Officer Dy was orphaned early. His parents separated because his mother could not bear with Dether's job. She left them and went with another man, and until now, we have had no contact with her."

He returned the picture to the cabinet and looked at me. "His father died in an accident. He was with his father when the accident happened, so it was a big trauma for him. From that day on, he became quiet and cold. He was always studying. He said he will do everything to be a good detective like his father because that is what he promised him," He continued. "I have been Anton's second father since he was orphaned, so just like him, I want him to fulfill his dream. His exam is coming up, and he needs to pass it so that he can fulfill his dream. I want him to focus on studying so, I came up with this decision. I hope you understand me, Aixela."

I barely smiled and nodded.

After we talked, he called Officer Dy and Detective Givenchy. He was about to speak when Officer Dy suddenly took my hand and pulled me closer to him. "Inspector, I know what this is for. You don't have to worry about me. I can handle myself and, Ms. Supresencia is helping me. I will pass that. I will not disappoint you," He said.

I looked at him.

His inspector took a deep breath. "All right, if that's what you want."

When the conversation ended, he said goodbye, and we left. I just quietly followed him until we could get in the car. I just stared at him as he operated the car. While driving, he noticed I wasn't taking my eyes off him.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Why did you say that?" I asked.

"What?"

"That I'm helping you."

"So what do you want me to say?"

"I mean... Sorry", I sighed. "I know, I'm not really giving you any help. Well, in fact, I'm only adding to and exacerbating your problems. But even so, you didn't let me go. You still chose to protect me, so thank you."

"You don't have to be thankful. I didn't do that for you. I have reasons," He said.

"What is it?"

"You don't have to know."

"Mmmm, okay. But I still want to thank you, so please accept it. And also, let me help you this time."

"No need, I might just not be able to pass more if you'll try to help me."

"Promise, I will really help. Did you know it's better to review with someone? I'll take care of it. I will make sure you can review properly and pass the exam. Trust me."

"Whatever," He smirked.
