Broken Words

Angels fall and angels rise,

But have you ever heard an angel cry?

They hide so well beneath their skin,

Behind the smile holds every sin.

Just pray hell or heaven lets you in;

What all the angels cry.

Skin crawls,

Bones break,

Voices crack,

And homes shake.

Guns fire,

People conspire,

Yet nothing ever changes.

We scream,

We stare,

Tell them that we are still there,

They cry,

And they whine,

Yet nothing ever stays.

The lips that don't speak,

The voices never heard;

Kept inside your mind,

All those broken words.

Sad as the song;

Sweet as the melody;

The lies we've heard tell a beautiful story.

What's never seen and never heard

But is always the loudest?

Those broken words.

How do you slay the evil beast?

Shall whether decide who will feast;

It lurks to feed on the not yet deceased.

How do you kill the beast?

Found inside sitting at their seat,

As I hesitate to kill the beast.

Skin crawls,

Bones break,

Voices crack,

And homes shake.

Guns fire,

People conspire,

Still nothing ever changes.

Say it'll be fine,

Put on my show,

Make sure that not another soul knows,

I cry inside,

Then I die inside,

And no peace ever stays.

Sometimes I remember who I was,

What I did,

How I lived,

How I mattered.

As if my song a vinyl,

I was dropped and shattered.

Funny little things,

I used to say;

Had no cares,

Now I fade away.

You don't hear what the angels cry,

Just all the lies,

No angel cries.

I don't know how to slay the beast,

He has my feast,

You can't slay it for me.

Just tell me how to kill my evil beasts.

Now my lips don't speak,

My voice is never heard,

Kept inside my mind,

All those broken words.

I'm dead inside,

You cannot imagine;

I've seen horrors you cannot fathom.

What's never seen and never heard

But is always the loudest?

Those broken words.

All those broken words.

Save me from my broken words.
