"Excuse me but who exactly do I look like?" asked Ary in a barely noticeable sarcastic tone, clearly not expecting the answer that would end up her hair changing its colour, along with her eyes.
"Your mother, of course! Having a similar blonde hair, perfect eyebrows, long eyelashes... But let's don't deny that you have the Black family cheekbones..."
While Lucy and Loren paled at the mention of the Black family name, having heard of them and with Sirius Black being on loose didn't help at all, but Aurora was desperate for more details about her mother.
"Excuse me, sir, but do you happen to know who my mother or father is?" she asked but just as the portrait was going to answer Loren decided to drag her towards the potions classroom, saying that they were going to be late and that Snape would throw a fit at them.
Eventually, they did end up being late.
"Late. Detention for both of you Hamptons. Miss Mckinnon, please sit next to Jones." with that she walked towards the seat that Professor Snape had pointed to, but she could swear that she heard the Potions Professor something like 'so much like her mother' before continuing with the lesson "As many of you may have noticed you're not in the first year anymore which means that this year we will focus more on the potion brewing than the theory. Now, the Fire Protection Potion, also known as the Ice Potion, is a potion user to move through flames unscathed. When drunk, it induces a sensation of ice and frigidity in the drinker and provides protection from most. Instructions are on the board, you have half an hour to complete brewing the potion when you're done pour it into the glass phial and attach your name on it. You may begin."
Most of the students hurried towards the cupboard the Jones bloke being one of them, meanwhile Aurora just used the summoning charm. Putting the cauldron on the fire she started reading the instructions under her breath.
"Slice bursting mushrooms with knife, add to cauldron and stir clockwise until the potion turns blue. Add Salamander blood to cauldron, stir anti-clockwise until the potion turns green. Crush Wartcap powder in pestle, add to cauldron and stir clockwise until the potion turns red." she started brewing the potion while humming 'Come together' by The Beatles. By the time the rest of the class started her potion was already turning green.
"Come together, right now, over me" she finished brewing the potion poured it into the phial and was writing her name on it when Professor Snape came to their table.
"Already finished?" asked Snape, trying to hide his amusement since it hadn't even been twenty minutes since the lesson started "I must say, I'm impressed by your potion brewing and the charm you used to get the ingredients. None of my students has ever thought through that."
He took the phial to inspect it, after an approving nod he walked away while awarding Gryffindor with five house-points. Aurora turned around only to see the Jones boy gaping at her like a fish. When the boy caught her looking he quickly turned around continuing with his potion.
"Stop! You're supposed to stir it counter-clockwise" declared Ary to the boy who nodded gracefully.
After the class ended, Aurora walked out of the classroom along with Jones.
"I'm Alexander Jones by the way" Introduce the boy himself properly to the girl. Proceeding what he just told her, her eyes widened of realisation.
"By any chance are you related to Gwenog Jones?" she asked.
"Yeah, she's my aunt. Please don't tell me that you want her autograph."
Ary chuckled "No, I'm not a fan of Holyhead Harpies, sure they're good but damn, Puddlemore United is much better. Did you see their last match with Chudleys? Did you see the Canons' seeker's, Gudgeon's face after Benjy Williams caught the snitch right under his nose?!"
Well, let's say the two quidditch nerds became good, correction Best friends after that.
