CHAPTER 15

When I woke up today, I have decided to make breakfast and of course as soon as Sanem registered my intentions, she asked me to make her some, too. I giggled at her and decided to make some grill cheese sandwiches.

In kitchen we were joined by Brianna, who slept over in the apartment for the first time. "How did you sleep?" I asked her.

"Very well, actually. Thanks." She smiled back.

"Does that mean you'll stay here more often?" Sanem asked. "I mean, you're pretty cool, I think we'll be friends."

"Yeah, probably. You guys are kind of fun."

"Kind of?" Sanem exaggerated offendedness. "Girl, you'll have to spend more time with us, especially me, because 'kind of' just won't do."

Brianna giggled, Sanem's spell already enchanting her.

After not-so-successful individual Spanish lesson, we got ready for our first potion class and headed to the laboratory.

Laboratory was a smaller wooden building next to the greenhouse and it looked nothing like I imagined it to. I pictured trashed dark room, with uneven shelves, dead animals hanging from the ceiling, candles giving the room some dim light and a giant caldron in the middle of it all.

But, no.

What we walked into looked more like modern chemistry lab than a witch cabin, sadly. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy no rat tails hanged from the walls and that there were no eyes in the jars but it was still kind of disappointing, there was no magical charm to it, you know? Yes, wooden walls made it look authentic, but all the test tubes, vials, measuring spoons, bottles and students' desks ruined it. Thank god there was no artificial lightning and there were different plants and blossoms in the jars, but no giant pot in the middle, no black cat? Disappointing.

"I'm so excited!" Rosy exclaimed. "This will be so much fun."

"Yeah, I think so, too." Naomi added.

"Welcome, girls." Said a sing-a-like voice. "Welcome to the potion class, my name is Tryphosa and I'll be your teacher." I turned into the direction of the voice and saw this beautiful young woman with curly blonde hair, talking to us with the shy smile on her face. She reminded me of a fairy.

"Now if you would please go to that cabin, take out one book and one pot and then get seated." Tryphosa said, pointing behind us.

As I was getting my pot, not going to lie- I was very excited, a girl bumped her shoulder into mine. It was Tanis.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the class' show-off." She said with a poisonous tone. "You know, it's pretty dark in here, maybe you should make one of your fireballs."

I was baffled, I didn't really expect a bullying here. "Oh, don't be jealous Tanya. You'll get there, too."

"Her name is Tanis!" Said the redhead behind her, I think her name is Alcestis or something like that, and I smirked at her response, not breaking my eye-contact with Tanis.

I found all of this very amusing. I said I didn't expect a bitch to get in my business, not that I didn't want one. She will make this experience much more exciting.

"She knows that, stupid. She said the wrong name on purpose." Medeia, the 'edgy girl' whispered to her, not quietly enough.

"And that was childish." Tanis said. "Everybody knows who I am."

"A bit conceited, are we?" Sanem barged in, but Tanis ignored her.

"I would just like to warn you not to mess with the most powerful Gyanake." Tanis smirked.

"And who is that supposed to be?" Naomi asked, "Hopefully you don't mean yourself."

"I do, actually. Do you know who my mother is?" Tanis hissed back.

"And what does that have to do with you? Your mother may be powerful, doesn't mean you are. So maybe be careful with your words, we wouldn't want you to embarrass yourself, would we now?" Naomi slapped and man was it hot.

"Is everything okay back there?" Tryphosa asked.

"Yes, professor. Kathrine just needed some help with the pot." Tanis said after she recovered a bit.

"Yeah, she's weak like that." Medeia whispered, so only we could hear her.

Tanis smirked one last time and then left alongside with her little fan club.

"What a bitch." Sanem whispered as we sat down.

"But, damn Naomi, you were amazing." I said a bit too affectionately, which won me a look from Sanem.

"I only said the truth." Naomi said with a proud expression.

"What happened?" Brianna asked when she and Rosy joined us.

"Oh, nothing. Rina just got herself a nemesis." Sanem laughed and I smiled amused.

A nemesis.

What a cool word.

Bring it on, Tanis. There's nothing wrong with a little competition, may the better friend group win.

I looked at her direction and saw her staring at us with disgust clear on her face. I smirked and winked at her, making it obvious that she doesn't scare me and that her threats don't affect me.
