——

y/n woke up in confusion, not recognising her surroundings at all, but then it all came flooding back to her. It felt like she was living in a dream.

Talking of dreams, that was exactly the topic of the day. She didn't really know what to make of Dream, as, after all, he was the one who declared war on L'Manburg and had blown it up, as she had found out after talking with Wilbur, Tubbo and Fundy. However, she also knew whatever problems they had were now resolved, at least for now.

She put on her clothes and got ready as normal, stepped outside, as she spotted Wilbur and Tubbo.

——

"Hey!" y/n called, running over to them.

"Hi y/n! Today's the big day isn't it?" Wilbur greeted.

"It is! But I'm gonna need some help finding my way. I haven't even been to that part!" the girl explained.

"Well, I did message Dream to say you were speaking with him today, and he asked where you should meet up, and so I told him Pizza hut would be a good place so I'll help get you there if want," Tubbo suggested, and all three of them decided that this would be a good idea, since Tubbo knew the SMP area better than Wilbur did.

"Anything else I should know?" y/n asked, wanting to be prepared. She didn't want to make herself look like an idiot.

"It might not just be you and Dream," Wilbur informed, "He usually is around with two people called George and Sapnap. They call themselves The Dream Team, and there could even be others who live in the area as well, I'm not sure, but you're fine speaking to them, they're pretty chill."

Tubbo nodded in agreement.

"Alright, is there anyone who I shouldn't speak to? Like, avoid at all costs?" y/n further questioned.

"Well, there is someone..." Wilbur admitted, and he and Tubbo exchanged a knowing look, Wilbur's eyes seemed to cloud over, like terrible memories were rushing back to him.

And eerie silence was present in the atmosphere.

"Anyways... we better get going y/n, you don't want to be late now, do you?" Tubbo said, hastily changing the subject, and pulling y/n away before she had chance to say goodbye to Wilbur

——

"What was that all about?" y/n asked as soon as they were out of Wilbur's hearing range.

"Oh, something happened in the war which upsets Wilbur well it kinda upsets us too, but he was more affected by it. What we were trying to say is, if you meet anyone called Eret, don't speak to him at any costs," Tubbo warned.

"Why?"

"Tubbo cleared his throat, like he was about to read a story, "Once, not long ago, he used to be a part of L'Manburg. When the war was declared, he was on our side. Or so we thought... He betrayed us, lead us to a room, and pressed a button, leading us to out death, and uttered the words "It was never meant to be," Tubbo shuddered, reliving the memory in his brain

"Why did he do that? Why would he just betray his friends?" y/n asked, wondering how someone could be like that.

"He wanted power.. More than we could ever give him. He wanted a castle. He wanted a crown. He wanted to be on the side with the advantage..."

y/n decided not to mention it anymore. She could tell that it was hurting Tubbo to resurface these memories, but she did know that she did not like the sound of this Eret guy. She could not believe that someone could be so selfish.

"I'm sorry I made you think about it all again, Tubbo," she apologised.

"No,no-it's completely fine. It's better to talk to someone about things, that keep it all bottled up inside," Tubbo let a small smile spread across his face.

y/n returned the smile. That was great advice, she would remember it.

"We're here!" Tubbo announced, "I'll leave you here, good luck!"

"Thanks Tubbo," y/n replied, waving as he skipped off into the distance

——

Once Tubbo was out of sight, she apprehensively opened the door.

Sure, y/n was nervous, but they were nerves like she had felt before. It was fine. She could get through it.

——

"Hello," a voice called out from behind her.

y/n turned to look at the table. Four people were sat at it. They all looked at her. The first one she noticed was a man wearing a green hoodie with a smiley mask which covered his entire face. If you were to look at it for a moment, the mask was nothing, but seeing it right in front of her eyes, the demonic smile seemed to pierce into y/n's soul. It was quite unsettling.

"Pardon me, are you Dream, sir?" y/n asked the masked man timidly. Her voice came out as nearly a whisper.

"That depends. Who's asking?" he stifled a laugh.

"It-it's y-

"Don't worry, of course I knew you were coming, take a seat," he instructed her. She relaxed a little, as she settled on the bench. Beside her was a boy with brown hair and a blue shirt. He also wore sunglasses on his head, and moved over to give y/n some space.

"y/n, we would like to warmly welcome you to the Dream SMP!" Dream began.

The atmosphere in the room was awkward, but as y/n relaxed in her seat, it seemed to too.

"Thank you, it is a great pleasure to be living here," the girl gained more confidence.

"Good, it is a pleasure to have you here too. I am more than happy to grant you a citizenship to this land. I know you probably won't cross them much, as you are planning on living in L'Manburg, but I would like you to meet my friends. To your right is George," Dream introduced.

"Hey!" the boy who was sat next to her smiled

"Hi George, If you don't mind, may I ask about the glasses?" y/n smiled back and settled in her seat

"Oh yeah, it's fine," he laughed, "I wear these because I'm colourblind, they help me to see colours. Some people call me Gogy because of them, but I don't really care about it,"

"Then, to my right, is Sapnap," Dream continued.

y/n turned to look at the boy to Dream's right. He had black hair, a white shirt with a flame on it, and most notably, a white bandana.

"Hello...sorry what's your name kid?" he asked, causing George to laugh at his ignorance.

"My name is y/n l/n (your name, last name)," the girl informed him again.

"Alright, sorry, great to meet you," he said, and they shook hands. There was only one other person at the table.

She looked to the right of George, a guy with hazelnut coloured hair looked back at her. Nothing seemed particularly off about him, apart from the large, golden crown which sat on his head.

Surely not...

"y/n, this is Eret."

——

"Hi there," he greeted, waving."

No.

y/n didn't know what to think. Should she just act like she hadn't been told anything? But what would Tubbo and Wilbur and the rest of L'Manburg think? Her shock and apprehension were clearly shown in her expression.

"You good?" George asked.

To be truthful, y/n didn't know, but Tubbo's words rang in her head

"Do not speak to him at any costs."

She had made her decision. She just stared at him coldly.

"Okay..." Eret said awkwardly.

"y/n is Tubbo's cousin. As I have said, she is going to be living in L'Manburg, and I'm sure she has had a many conversations with people who fought in the war," Dream stepped in to explain.

"Right...Explains the...Cold staring. Anyways, I'd better be going now," Eret stood up uncomfortably and left the restaurant.

"Well, I'm sure I'll see you all around sometime," y/n sighed, standing up to leave once Eret was gone.

"See you y/n," all three of the 'Dream team' waved at her, as she once again opened the door.

——

y/n stepped outside and breathed in the fresh air, she had done it. She had talked to Dream and his friends Sapnap and George, who seemed alright and pretty genuine, but most astounding of all, she had stood up to Eret. Sure, not with words but she hadn't caved in.

She scanned the area, but Tubbo hadn't arrived yet. Come to think of it, they hadn't specified a time. They had said about an hour, but that was no use. She examined the unknown buildings and the wooden path beside her. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to find her way back to L'Manburg?

Just as she set off along the path, she noticed a skeleton and a creeper in the distance. She wasn't scared, as she had got a sword which Tubbo had gifted to her, but she was intrigued. She saw as the skeleton killed the creeper.

She saw something laying on the ground, so she picked it up, and slayed the skeleton.

From closer inspection, she found it was a music disc. The name of it read 'Chirp'. y/n examined it for a few moments, and then placed it in her pocket, remembering the conversation from last night. She had a pretty good idea of what she was going to do with it.

She carried on along the wooden path, until she bumped into Tubbo.

——

"Hey y/n!" he greeted, "How'd it go then?"

"Quite good, I got my citizenship from Dream, and I also met his friends too,."

"Amazing!" he congratulated, giving y/n a quick hug, "What'd you think of them?"

"Dream seems alright... the mask was a bit unnerving, but he seems quite nice. Sapnap and George were also pretty nice to me to, even though Sapnap didn't pay attention to anything anyone said hardly. But there was someone else with them too..." y/n stopped, she had to be truthful to Tubbo.

"Who?"

"Eret."

"Oh," Tubbo's face fell, "What did you say to him?"

"Absolutely nothing. I gave him the coldest stare I could fathom," y/n confessed.

Tubbo said nothing at first, but faced y/n, developing a bright smile, and he high-fived her.

"Woo! You did great!" the boy cheered

"Oh thanks, also look what I got," y/n pulled the disc from her pocket and showed it to Tubbo.

"Nice! You got yourself a disc! No one has a chirp yet," he said, examining the disc closely, "You might wanna be careful where you keep it. That thing would be worth a lot around here. Make sure that you put it somewhere safe, we don't want anymore wars," Tubbo warned.

"I know exactly where it is going," y/n had truly decided on her decision.

——

They arrived back at L'Manburg soon enough. Before entering into the walls, Tubbo covered y/n's eyes, and started leading her somewhere.

"Tubbo what are you-

"SURPRISE!" Tubbo, Wilbur, Fundy and Niki yelled, as Wilbur handed y/n a sheet of paper, which looked to have some kind of lyrics on it, and a uniform which was very similar to Niki's.

"My... My very own uniform?" she asked, surprised.

"Yep, just for you," Wilbur smiled.

"And the lyrics?"

"That, my friend, is the national anthem if L'Manburg,"

Niki went over to the jukebox, and the anthem started to play.

Everyone, even including Tommy saluted, y/n followed them in their actions, and everyone sang the lyrics (o7) y/n followed along, double checking that she was singing them correctly.

Well, to say they sang might have been an overstatement, everyone apart from Wilbur sounded like dying cats (or fox in Fundy's case) but none of them cared. It was one of y/n's happiest moments. She felt accepted.

——

Once the anthem had finished, a series of claps and cheers erupted throughout the air. It was overall a joyous night. y/n went to put her uniform on, and met back up with everyone once she had adjusted it right.

It was very baggy, but that was natural for a first time wear. She would fit into it eventually.

"Ayy y/n!" Fundy greeted excitedly, "Do you want to party?!"

"Of course, we've got all the time in the world," y/n decided, since the election was not planned for another month yet.

——

They got food, drinks games and music. It topped the previous night for sure.

Everyone got lost in the moment., laughing, smiling and telling stories. Tommy was still a little bit distant from y/n. He spent most of the night annoying Wilbur. But y/n had a plan to change that.

"And so, I ran up to Dream and yelled YOOOOOOOO SUCK IT GREEN BOYYYYY!" Wilbur was retelling the story of the war for the third time, as y/n noticed that Tommy was unoccupied. She took her chance, and approached him.

"Hey Tommy," she called.

"Hello...Woman," he scratched the back of his neck and acted distracted, but he didn't completely ignore her.

"I know we haven't had the best of starts, but I got something today. I don't really have a use for it, but I was listening to your story last night, and I thought you'd want it more than anyone," y/n explained and Tommy's attention piqued, as she pulled the disc out of her pocket.

"A disc?!" He asked in amazement.

"Yeah it's chirp," she explained as she handed him the disc.

"This is the first Chirp around here! And you would seriously give it to me, even after the things I said?"

"Of course, who else would I give it to?"

"Thank you so much y/n. I'm going to put it in my ender chest," he replied, immediately skipping off to his house.

The night had barely just gotten underway, but y/n was happy with her newfound confidence.

A/N: Thank you so much for reading. Me and my bestie are currently writing this together on call, and she was screaming at me to put more Hamilton references so I apologise if they were just kind of there. x
