CHAPTER 21

I sat in the kitchen, watching a video of how to make chicken noodle soup. I wanted to make something presentable for Liam. Two days had gone by since Anna's death. Just as Mr. Smith wanted, we held a very small burial for her the next day. The burial took place at Mr. Smith's house. We all had to leave Liam's house very early, so we could arrive at Mr. Smith's house before sunset. With the help of Nanny Mai and Grandma, I was able to handle everything.

As soon as I was done preparing his meal, I poured it into a white curve plate and arranged it neatly on an orange-flowered tray with a glass of orange juice by the side.

I noticed Grandma outside the sitting room, she was discussing on the phone with someone. I walked up to her and greeted her.

"I'll be right back, dear." She said softly.

"Is something wrong? Where are you off to so early in the morning?" I asked worriedly.
