μαύρος Δράκος

*8 Months Later*

Headmaster Baros stood atop an ornate stage, he addressed all one hundred students with collective grace. He did not have to request silence, it was the only foreseeable option, one hundred pairs of eyes focused on him instantly and silently.

"We only accept those considered elite.... Well, I do not have to spell it out for you. Only twenty percent of the world has an ability, of those twenty percent, five percent are worthy of praise. We take the top two percent and refine them. You will survive if only you have the courage to cast yourself into this fiery abyss. Now proceed, show me your validity."

Upon the headmasters dismissal a whisper of voices rose, students in turn looked at one another. Some displayed a sense of ease - confident in their abilities- other showcased unease, while others yet expressed only a desire to begin, fire burning behind careful eyes.

μαύρος Δράκος, or black dragon, in common tongue, is by no means a standard school, the headmasters speech had revealed as much. Situated in an unknown location deep within mountains it's existence is not publicly disclosed information. Guarded by more than powerful men and women it is not a place easily found. It's secrecy playing a large part in its allure.

The world is aware of beings with heighten abilities, they filled the uppermost layers of society and progressed with admirable prowess. They were respected by some, but feared to an extent by all. μαύρος Δράκος is where those wishing to excel strive to attend. The mastery of three languages - minimum - is required, mastery of all common subjects such as mathematics, world science, history, linguistics, and one form of martial arts are also required. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, no older than 35 and be prepared to accept that death is unavoidable and unacceptable all the same. The list above, however, is merely the background required to be average, dominance of ones ability must also be showcased if the applicant truly wishes to be considered.

Abilities are broken into five categories, those of earth, fire, water, air, and lastly those who heal. Within each section strength and individuality set applicants apart. While most earth wielders can move rocks, not all can transgress the average rock lifting to bend metal and craft impenetrable fortresses. It's those powerful distinctions within the five categories that make each individual here exotic. Within those individuals, family crests are seen and recognized: some families are known for fire casting, passing along traditions and techniques known only to their most intimate members. Many of those children are born to attend this academy, one of which is known above all.

The Zordyk family had emerged many hundred years ago, considered by many the forefathers of magic they had risen, taken control and created the Ruenen, an organization which now controls and oversees the education, development, and validity of the magical community. The Ruenen strives for independence from the lesser communities, they seldom interfere, and thus expect no interference. This of course is dependent on factions within the Ruenen, groups, which maintain order and carry out punishments for crimes cast on lesser and upper communities. Among Ruenen's factions one stands out, The Serpent Kings. Efficient, haughty, deadly, this group carries out the law for the Ruenen, making sure that any who crosses their path wrongfully pays for in full with their lives. It was the hopes of many here to be inducted into the Serpent Kings ranks.

A smaller, yet just as intimidating man took the stage to usher instructions colloquially. As a fully immersive one year program all are required to live in the provided housing. All students were to get in lines dictated by last names; keys, schedules, tours, all would be administered and conducted after check in and by already decided groups. Four groups of twenty-five, placed together strategically to challenge the individuals.

A pair of grey eyes followed the words and movements with singular focus. In a decisive moment she walked through the crowd to the line of her indicating surname, fully aware of the coveting eyes that followed her pace -she knew she was beautiful, she just didn't care-.

Violet completed her check-in, turned to walk to the back of the room, got fifteen feet in and stopped dead in her tracks.

Her eyes widened in surprise, standing before her was a group of individuals, refined in every way, body's showcasing absolute confidence. Eyes she could never forget landed on hers and in the next moment Alex's voice rang out loud and clear, "Violet! Oh Violet! You're here as well?!"

It was not Alex's greeting that stole Violet's breath, for behind Alex, Kieren lips tugged upward in the form of a smirk, devilishly captivating, eyes shinning with secrets only he understood. The first time he had shown any emotion was dedicated solely to knocking her fully off course.
