The kiss

POV'S CHRIS

I missed seeing her so much.

She is so beautiful.

She looks different, she feels lost, but she is always beautiful.

She is wearing a pair of black jeans that highlight her hips and thighs, and a beige sweater accompanied by a pair of jordans.

She simple but gorgeous.

I look like I came out of a horror movie, I barely got deodorant on.

She approaches me and sinks into my arms, I hold her tightly. The perfume she usually wears that smells like caramel and vanilla fills my lungs and gives me a sense of tranquility.

We detach ourselves from her embrace and she looks me in the eye

I nod my head and we start walking towards the park which is a few blocks from here.

As we approach, she doesn't speak, she just looks around and then looks at me, she smiles and looks back at the street.

Seeing the park from afar it seems crowded with children playing on the rides, their mothers talking on the benches, and finally, the older boys playing on the soccer field. I look at her and immediately understand that talking there would make her uncomfortable.

We sit on a bench near the park, I turn to her and she does the same.

I tell him right away.

She just nods her head and then looks at her hands, plays with the charms of her bracelets, and starts talking.

Her voice breaks and I take his hands to reassure her, she looks me in the eye and finds an ounce of strength to keep talking.

She takes her phone in her bag and hands it to me, I read the message and I am surprised, I cannot imagine how she is, I can do nothing but console her.

My voice breaks, I feel responsible for not having helped her in this bad time for her.

She looks at me and tells me

I tell him

POV'S MEL

He looks at me in surprise, as if I'm making fun of him.

He tells me in a serious tone

He approaches me as if to hug me.

Instead, I take courage and do something I never imagined doing: I kiss him.

He pulls away for a moment, then accepts my kiss, and he kisses me too.

I feel butterflies in my stomach, a shiver goes through my whole back and I feel my cheeks catch fire

After a few seconds, we break away and he looks me in the eye: he's got red cheeks too, he's so adorable.

I lose myself for a few seconds in his honey-colored eyes, which with the sun reflecting I like even more.

He nods and I smile at him, he does the same. I walk up to him and put my head on his shoulder

I whisper on his shoulder

He tells me placing his head on mine.

I smile and blush, luckily he can't see it.

He tells me unexpectedly.

He laughs with gusto, I tap him on the chest

We stay like this for a long time, watching the children play on the slide and the swings, observing the mothers talking and gesturing towards their children to tell them to be careful and not to slip, but they pay little attention. I would love to go back to being a child and be so carefree, without problems, without worrying about the future and what will happen to my life, just think about what you will have for dinner and which stickers to exchange with classmates, and how fun it is to watch those silly cartoons, but which are lighthearted.

It was all so beautiful as children.

After a few hours, Chris and I find ourselves in the usual cafeteria in the area to take the usual milkshakes from the menu and talk as we often do.

We didn't happen to talk about our kiss, even if before, while we were on the bench, he mentioned something that could make me understand that he wanted to talk about it, but I preferred to be stupid and not understand what he meant.

My phone rings, I look at the cell phone screen and it's Rob.

The eyes widen

I raise my voice a little and look Chris in the face, who is visibly worried and curious to know what and to whom he is talking

Rob sighs deeply
