Teen Titans Rec #1: Adaptation
--The first 2-3 chapters of this story are short, but it really does kick off a few chapters down. If you like the writing style of the first chapter, I'd keep reading for a few more just to give the story it's due chance.--

It was a normal morning in the Teen Titans tower. At 6:30 in the morning, only Raven and Robin can be expected to be awake. The aforementioned half-demon was meditating in front of the large windows in the commons room. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos. Azarath Metrion Zinthos." After nearly half an hour of peace and quiet, heavy footsteps started making their way to the common room doors, which hissed open revealing the resident half-robot.
"Mornin' Raven. Seen Robin?" he asked the floating girl. "No, he's probably still training" she replied. Cyborg shrugged it off and went to work on making his favorite breakfast: meat, covered in meat, with meat on the side. He was halfway through building his concoction when the leader walked through the doors. "Hey Cy, hey Raven" he greeted his teammates. They replied in unison with a "Hey" before both returned to their own routines. Robin started rummaging through the fridge and pulled out the necessary ingredients for a bowl of oatmeal. When everything was mixed and in the microwave, he started making small talk with Cyborg, who had just finished making his meat feast.
After a few minutes of discussing the plans for the day, from routines to possible activities, Starfire made her entrance. Upon seeing the current occupants of the room, she went about her typical morning welcomes. "Glorious morning, is it not friend Raven?". "It's fine Star" the empath replied in her typical monotone while gently setting on the ground.
The two girls made their way to the kitchen, Raven to get some tea and Star to make her unusual Tamaranean breakfast. "How are you doing on this wonderful morning friends Robin and Cyborg?" she asked her teammates, both of whom replied "good" as she started eating whatever it was that she managed to create. The four of them idly chatted for a little longer before Cyborg decided to play video games and Raven continued reading a book she had left in the commons room the previous night.
Nearly an hour later, the fifth and final Titan made his way through the doors into the kitchen-commons room. "Hey guys, what's up?" he asked, still groggy from waking up. "Not much. You missed out on another 'meatfast' this morning BB" Cyborg replied without taking his eyes off the game. "Dude, did you keep count of how many animals you killed?" Beast Boy asked, which lead to another daily meat vs. tofu argument from the two. Raven, who had learned to ignore the sounds of bickering between the two, was roused from her book when the alarm went off. "Rooin, whud id it" Beast Boy asked, struggling to talk from shoving half of his breakfast into his mouth when the alarm went off. "Plasmus. He's downtown" the leader explained. "Titans go!" he shouted as the team went to face their favorite sludge composed enemy.
