Ground control, here who is talking is your dear captain president supreme commander Sr. mini bat. I'm speaking from experience when I say, flying is way too hard to learn in just a couple of days.
Introductions out of the way, It's been about a week since our last meeting and I have to say, I'm happy with my improvement. Take a look. 'Status'

I'm starting to notice that higher leveled skills are taking longer to level up. It makes sense if it is based on a game like thingie. I wonder how does it is measured. Is it a logarithm thing or something else ? it must be an exponential curve though.
Out of nerd shit.
In this last week, I've been practicing flying whenever I was awake. It should have been easier considering birds master it in one single fucking day.
I guess I am at a disadvantage here since I was human and still kinda think like one, mostly at the 'I should not be flying ' kinda stuff.
Mom has been really supportive of my endeavors, keeping me company all the time during this period and helping whenever I get into trouble. Once I tried making a fast maneuver mid air and ended up crashing into another bat that seemed to be in the way. He tried to fight me and, probably, kill me. Mom saved me that time and the two of us ended up having to fight off the poor guy... or girl... I still haven't been good at differentiating that thing. The smell sometimes gives it away but...
Wait, back on track please.
Sorry, my mind has been wondering off a lot these pass couple of hours.
Why ?
Dad is taking me hunting.
Omg, I'm a lot of things right now, but calm aren't one of them.
I am scared that I am gonna mess this up, I'm anxious that I mind get hurt or killed and most of all, I'm scared of disappointing dad.
I know what you are thinking. ' How come are you worried about that kind of thing about a bat that just so happens to be your progenitor', and I can see your point. What you have to understand though is that I've always been like this, thinking about how I might mess things up and let people down. It's actually pretty expected of me to do that in this situation, even to an unknown creature.
Also, I might still be getting used to referring to them as parents, but I already feel some familiar bond here so, your argument isn't without it's flaws.
Right now, dad and I are at the entrance to our home. He at the front, preparing flight while I am standing aside, following his lead. He looks back at me once to certificate that I am ready and then jumps, spreading his wings and flying skillfully.
' I wonder if I will get like that '
I think, getting to the do already. Not as pretty as dad, I rise into the cold air of the cave, using my new senses in order to not crash into anything this time. My arms, although not as tired as during my first time, still hurt a bit with this kind of movement.
Dad, after checking that I am following, takes off into what to me seems like a random direction. After his 'evolution'- cause it is actually more like a metamorphosis. Evolution has nothing to do with that crap after all. -, the other bats seem to be keeping their distance, as if they are afraid or something... I mean, he seems the strongest around here so our trip to some hunting grounds are effortlessly concluded, Well, effortlessly to dad. To me, that was a marathon. It takes some pretty long time to actually get there, and to an underdeveloped cub like me, that is pretty rough.
Now you might be wondering, 'what gives away that you got to your destination ?',and the answer to that is simple, my little padawan. The tunnel we were flying through opened up to a gigantic whole full of other holes similar to the one we came from. In the middle of that place. The cave was really dark, but there was some reminiscent light coming from the ceiling. I think it might have something to do with a fluorescent bacteria or mucus or something. I wonder where do they get the energy from. Maybe some mineral reaction in the rocks ?... again, going off track.
Dad doesn't even wait for me to finish my deep thinking and quickly goes to the attack. He scouts the place quietly, using the noise to locate where the prey might be hiding. It doesn't actually take long though, as about a minute after he starts, he dives fast towards the ground, signalizing he found something. A fast grab and he skillfully resurfaces with something between his talons.
A little mouse.
'I guess this is how he has been doing things until now, huh'.
He then comes back towards me and asks me to kill the still squirming living mouse. Poor little thing, he was just having a little time to himself in the room floor and now here he is, awaiting his soon to be death and still fighting to survive. Sorry little guy, but chooses can't be beggars. With a quick move of my claws, the poor thing is cut and die as quickly as I can make it. I get some shivers for that.

Even though I have been a bat for a while and have already killed a pretty big number of living things, it doesn't make it that much easier. Dad seems satisfied though, and that calms me down a bit.
He then tugs be a bit and indicates for me to follow him this time. We left his hunt at the side, close to the wall and take flight again. This time, dad is trying to guide me into finding a pray on my own, apparently. He indicates for me to take the lead and I do as such.
I try concentrating. The first thing I notice is the almost lack of cored beasts around here. After that, the quiet sounds of the cave, the wind slowly flowing, some movement from the tunnels here and there. It takes a while, but I hear it. A small rock moves close to our location and I give the signal. Dad doesn't take long and dives full force towards the ground again. This time tough, he swiftly takes the kill during the landing. Some dust is lifted thanks to the force of the impact, but it soon gets back down and I see it. Dad is biting furiously into a huge snake, the biggest I might have ever seen... maybe the fact that I am pretty small might have something to do with that.
I try getting closer, but he signals to me to stay back.
'It is this dangerous, huh '
The snake squirms and tried to bite dad, but that backfires when she misses and he uses this chance to cut at her throat. She dies soon after that.
' Real fights for survival happen quicker than what I read in those novels back home, huh. '
Dad seems a bit tired, so I land back and await for him to recover his strength. I am not able to bring that huge thing back home on my own after all. Even though it is hard to read dad, I have a feeling that he is happy with our advancements today.
After some minutes, dad squeaks to me and takes flight again, this time taking the snake with him. On our way back, I get out of the way to get our first kill back, having the responsibility to take it back with us on my own...
'This is gonna be a long flight. I wonder if mom will enjoy dinner'
