Beside the tree-lined path, next to a fragrant osmanthus carriage, a slightly hunched coachman grabbed the sauce-flavored meat pie in his hand. His mouth was oily and his clothes were stained and dirty.

He suddenly choked, and his eyes bulged. He hurriedly took out a bottle of water from his pocket and drank two mouthfuls.

After he recovered, he patted his chest and heaved a sigh of relief.

He threw away the remaining sauce-flavored meat pie without giving it a second thought.

He mounted his horse and took out a black pouch embroidered with cloud patterns from his inner pocket. After he weighed it in his hand, the coachman's plain face turned bitter.
